We incorporate video lectures to enhance comprehension and maintain student interest. Regular mock tests and model question-and-answer sessions are integral to continuous improvement. We also prioritize practical exposure, arranging seminars, workshops, and conferences both within and outside the campus, thus providing students with hands-on experience and a holistic understanding of the subject matter.


What is the best part of teaching according to you?

For me, the most rewarding aspect of teaching in the Food Technology department is the interactive learning process and the opportunity to shape the ideals of our students. Engaging in two-way communication with students and becoming a source of inspiration for them is truly fulfilling. Effective teaching is a collaborative effort, where both the teacher and the student contribute to the learning experience. Witnessing the growth and development of students, and knowing that I am playing a role in molding their future and instilling in them a sense of responsibility towards society, is what makes teaching exceptionally gratifying.

What are your roles as Head of the Department?

As the Head of the Food Technology Department, I am responsible for maintaining a well-organized and systematic structure within the department. My primary role is to ensure the smooth conduct of teaching, learning, research, and examinations, all of which contribute to the holistic development of both students and the institution. I oversee the implementation of the core curriculum and policies, ensuring they are executed effectively to benefit the students and the department. I also play a crucial role in organizing workshops, conferences, seminars, and invited talks, which serve as platforms for enhancing knowledge, fostering confidence, and providing valuable insights to our students.


How do you introduce a practical and industry-oriented approach towards subjects?

Incorporating a practical and industry-oriented approach into our curriculum is a top priority for us, particularly in the subject of Food Production. The syllabus for this subject is designed to be highly practical-oriented, with students engaging in 8 hours of hands-on practice each week. This approach allows students to develop crucial skills through practical experiences, covering both the basics and the latest trends in the culinary field. Furthermore, in the 4th semester, students undergo internships, providing them with real-world exposure to the industry. To enhance their learning, we frequently organize workshops conducted by seasoned chefs from the industry, ensuring our students are well-prepared and in tune with the demands of the culinary sector.
