What keeps you connected with the education sector and how was your experience been so far with the institute?

I have been associated with the institute for nine years. Secondly, I have a passion for teaching children. During my time in college, pursuing B.Tech. and M.Tech., I used to teach my friends. Since then, I have had the inspiration to educate people. I discovered that I connect well with students and enjoy imparting my knowledge to them. I find satisfaction in simplifying concepts that I have mastered, providing them with an easy understanding, and ensuring they face no difficulties in their tasks. This approach facilitates their learning process.

What is your philosophy of leadership?

Leadership is embodied by an individual who guides a group of people, standing alongside them. A leader doesn't stand apart; rather, they stand with the people, encouraging and propelling them forward. Additionally, when faced with challenges, a leader doesn't rush ahead but first assesses the difficulty. They then guide people step by step, providing direction on how to approach and overcome obstacles, making the task more manageable.

What are your roles and responsibilities?

I am associated with the Civil Engineering department at this institute. Additionally, I serve as the exam superintendent for the RGPV exam conducted at this college. Furthermore, I hold the position of head for NABL, a consultancy service provided by the Civil Engineering department to various companies, particularly in the construction sector. Lastly, I am also the library coordinator.

What do you think is the greatest strength of your college?

The infrastructure is excellent, motivating students to enrol and study here. Secondly, students are encouraged to bring their solutions. Whether your solution is feasible or ours is the best, we will tailor the lesson accordingly. Thirdly, students are provided with a space where they can enjoy themselves. The mindset here is universal. As kids, we all want to enjoy college life, so maintaining a balance ensures that students both enjoy and learn. Social connections are crucial for nurturing a well-rounded and skilled engineer, and we prioritise providing those at this college.

What are the placement opportunities available for students?

In civil engineering, numerous placement opportunities exist, ranging from government to private jobs, or even starting one's own firm. Thirdly, one can pursue a career as a contractor, whether in the government or private sector. The possibilities are diverse. Similarly, within the institute, there is an abundance of options. You can choose any branch or discipline, and numerous opportunities are available. You can excel as a scholar or become a proficient engineer. For instance, if students aspire to pursue an MBA after engineering, we offer management courses where they can acquire skills to progress in that direction.

Any suggestions you would like to give to the current youth and aspiring students?

Don't be afraid of hard work. Do good work, but also find a balance in your life. It's not just about constant studying anymore. While many students may score high percentages, it's not the only factor. Enjoy your social life and make connections because the current scenario values social connections. This way, you won't feel socially awkward and will have more opportunities to perform well.
