What are some of the biggest challenges you see for higher education in general?

One of the foremost challenges is adapting swiftly to the rapidly changing landscape shaped by technological advancements. Integrating emerging technologies effectively into curricula, ensuring students are equipped with relevant skills for the future job market, and addressing the digital divide to provide equal access to education are critical concerns. Additionally, the rising costs of higher education pose a challenge, making it increasingly difficult for students from diverse socio-economic backgrounds to access quality education. Striking a balance between affordability and maintaining educational standards is crucial for ensuring equitable access to higher education. One of the major challenges in higher education today is effectively preparing students for the evolving role of AI technology in various industries. This necessitates aligning curricula, fostering adaptable skills, and cultivating ethical understanding to equip students for the AI-driven workforce of the future.

Any suggestions you would like to give to the current youth and aspiring students?

I urge youth and aspiring students to cultivate a mindset that values both academic knowledge and practical skills. Embrace learning beyond textbooks, actively seeking opportunities to gain hands-on experience, internships, and real-world exposure. Focus on developing not only technical expertise but also soft skills like communication, adaptability, and critical thinking, which are increasingly vital in today's dynamic job market. Moreover, remain open to exploring diverse interests and experiences, as they often pave the way for personal growth and the discovery of your passions. In addition to academic pursuits, prioritise your mental well-being and self-care. Balancing academic goals with personal life and maintaining a healthy lifestyle is pivotal for long-term success.
