With my past experience at SRKR Engineering College, I strongly believe that the key factors that keep me connected with the education sector include a passion for learning and teaching, the opportunity to make a positive impact on student’s lives, a desire to contribute to society’s development, and the ever-evolving nature of education, which keeps me engaged and challenged.


Being the HOD of Civil Engineering Department, SRKR Engineering College, what is your philosophy of leadership? How would you describe your leadership style?

A leadership philosophy in academia often revolves around fostering a conducive learning environment, promoting academic excellence, and supporting faculty and staff development. In this connection, my leadership style includes Transformational Leadership, Prioritizing the staff and student needs, Governance, Adaptive Leadership and Effective communication.

The department’s ability to provide top-notch consultancy services through the WET center is a significant strength. This indicates that the department has practical expertise and can contribute to real-world projects and problem-solving.

Conducting cutting-edge research can lead to advancements in the field of civil engineering, benefiting both academia and industry. The fact that alumni from the department are spread across the world and are working in various reputed organizations is a testament to the quality of education and training provided by the department. This network can be valuable for current students, fostering collaboration and opportunities. Having individuals from the department serving as Chief Engineer of Mission Baghiradha and Vice Chancellor of JNTU Kakinada demonstrates that graduates from this department can reach high positions of leadership and influence in the field of civil engineering and education.


What would you like people to know about your department they may not know?

Our department is actively involved in cutting-edge research in various fields of civil engineering, including structural engineering, transportation engineering, environmental engineering, and more.
