GEC Admission Dates 2026

GEC admissions for the 2026-27 session were based on AP EAPCET 2026 scores, with APSCHE centralised counselling concluding in September 2026. The table below summarises the concluded 2026-27 cycle. The next cycle (2027-28) is tentative.

The next cycle for 2027-28 is expected to open with AP EAPCET 2027 in May 2027. Candidates may apply directly through the GEC official portal at gecgudlavalleru.ac.in for institute-level quota seats. The course-wise exam requirements are listed below.

GEC Courses and Fees

GEC offers nine B.Tech specialisations with a total B.Tech intake of 1,200 seats, along with five M.Tech streams and an MBA programme. The institute is a JNTUK-affiliated autonomous institution, enabling it to run its own curriculum while issuing JNTUK degrees. Fees below cover the full programme duration.

GEC’s B.Tech fee of INR 2.98 Lakhs is among the lowest in the private engineering segment in AP, reflecting the state government’s fee regulation framework for JNTUK-affiliated private colleges. CSE and IT remain the highest-demand branches, followed by AI and Data Science programmes.

GEC Admission Process

GEC admissions are conducted through the APSCHE centralised counselling process for the majority of seats. A small proportion (management quota) is filled by the institute directly. The process is the same across all JNTUK-affiliated private engineering colleges in Andhra Pradesh.

B.Tech Admission

Eligibility for B.Tech at GEC:

• 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics (or equivalent) from a recognised board
• Minimum 45% aggregate marks (40% for reserved categories)
• Valid AP EAPCET rank or JEE Main score

Selection process:

• Appear in AP EAPCET (conducted by APSCHE)
• Register for APSCHE Web Counselling with qualifying rank
• Online choice filling with college and branch preferences
• Seat allotment based on category rank and choice order
• Self-reporting and document verification at the allotted college

Management quota and NRI quota seats are filled directly through GEC. Online application is available at gecgudlavalleru.ac.in with a non-refundable application fee of INR 1,000.

B.Tech Lateral Entry

Lateral entry to the second year is through AP ECET, open to diploma holders in the relevant engineering discipline. Minimum 45% marks in the diploma programme are required. APSCHE handles the centralised allotment for lateral entry seats as well.

M.Tech and MBA

M.Tech admissions require a B.Tech in the relevant discipline with a valid GATE or AP PGECET score. MBA admissions are based on ICET, MAT, or CAT scores, processed through APSCHE. Both programmes have limited intake and allotment follows the same APSCHE centralised process.

GEC Placements

GEC placements for the Class of 2026 recorded 1,122 students placed across all departments. CSE led with 236 placements, followed by IT at 166, Mechanical Engineering at 149, ECE at 139, and EEE at 122. The AI and Data Science and AI and Machine Learning branches contributed 93 and 92 placements respectively.

Major recruiters visiting GEC include Amazon, IBM, TCS, Infosys, Capgemini, Accenture, L&T, Deloitte, and ICICI, in addition to Oracle Academy and Microsoft-partnered hiring programmes. The college has active MOUs with technology companies and international bodies including IUCEE and Cisco.

GEC’s overall placement rate has historically been around 90% of eligible graduates. The average package from NIRF-reported data stood at approximately INR 4 to 4.5 LPA, with IT and CSE graduates typically securing higher offers. Core engineering branches see a mix of campus placements and GATE-driven postgraduate pathways.

GEC Scholarships

GEC students are eligible for the Andhra Pradesh government fee reimbursement scheme, which covers tuition fees for AP EAPCET-qualified students from eligible income categories. Merit-based and need-based scholarships are also available through the college.

GEC Campus and Infrastructure

GEC is located in Gudlavalleru, a town in Krishna District, Andhra Pradesh, approximately 40 km from Vijayawada. The campus is a self-contained residential complex with academic blocks, hostels, recreation facilities, and a central library. The institute supports over 4,885 students and 400+ faculty members.

Academic infrastructure includes department-level laboratories equipped under AICTE norms, a central computing facility, and seminar halls. GEC vs VR Siddhartha Engineering College vs Bapatla Engineering College

Aspirants from Krishna, Guntur, and adjacent Andhra Pradesh districts frequently compare GEC Gudlavalleru with VR Siddhartha Engineering College (VRSEC), Vijayawada and Bapatla Engineering College (BEC), Bapatla. All three are JNTUK-affiliated private engineering colleges with NBA accreditation, serving the same AP engineering applicant pool.

VRSEC Vijayawada carries a NAAC A+ grade and urban city location, which appeals to students prioritising infrastructure and placement depth. GEC Gudlavalleru stands out on autonomous curriculum flexibility and a comprehensive programme range including newer branches like IoT and AI and Data Science. BEC Bapatla serves the Guntur corridor well with a Tier-I NBA accreditation for core branches.
