What attracted and inspired to you to become the Director of SRKR Engineering College?

I started my career with SRKR Engineering College when I was purusing M.Tech and I see this as my privilege because it is truly a great institution to work with. Another factor of why I took this highly responsible role of Director is that ambiance and working culture of the college is amazing in all sense as everyone be it students or staff members work together collaboratively.

What are some of the key challenges that higher education institutions are facing nowadays and how do you plan to address them in your role as a Director?

As we all know that the Government of India has recently introduced the NEP in 2020, and this for sure will bring a lot of changes in the education sector. And without doubt, students will be benefited from it. And the reason I am saying all this is because when we used to study the same courses, some 20 or 39 years back, at that time, syllabus was very hard coded.

Also, the only challenge which higher education institutions can face today will be the effective implementation of the policy. And I believe being a Director, I can overcome these hurdles by providing relevant opportunities to students at right time, cause it doesn't matter much if they want to become an Employer or an Employee.

How do you envision your role as a Director in supporting the mission and goals of the SRKR?

As a Director of the institution, I am primarily responsible to acts as a bridge between the Management and Principal. In other words, I need to supervise and monitor academics of our college and as my relationship with everyone is very good here, so I don't see much hurdles and will definitely do my best a Director.

How do you engage with the students, faculty members and other stakeholders of your institute?

To be honest, I love my profession and have maintained very good and friendly relations with the students. And to maintain strong professional relations with my faculty members and other stakeholders, I regularly interact with them as we all work as a Team. Apart from this, I never leave their queries or issues unattended and always try to resolve them on time.

Also, we are rigorously implementing the National Education Policy and I believe the way we are taking care of students academic and non-academic needs, we will grow manifold in upcoming years.

How do you address the issues of affordability and accessibility for students at the SRKR?

At present, more than 15 students organizations exist on our college campus and each department has its own student body, all of whom work dedicatedly to improve the technical and communication skills of students. And at most 20 events and activities are conducted every month with the dedicated efforts of these students organizations and bodies and these events gives a perfect platform to other students to showcase their unique talents.

We have also given very high importance to sports and games as along with academics, physical and mental health of our students is equally important for us. So this is how we make the college environment more inclusive in nature.

How does your college prepare students for the outer competitive world?

For the purpose of preparing students for the outer competitive world, we provide training programs for languages like German and recently 70 students of our college were selected for IELTS and after exams, they got very good marks.

And our prime here behind providing them all these opportunities is to ensure that that can professionally thrive in countries like USA, New Zealand and Australia etc. Also, in coming time, we are planing to make them ready for GRE and TOEFL like exams.
