National Conference on Recent Advancements in IT and Computing-2023 [NCRAITC-2023] was held in virtual mode on 22nd April 2023 at IMS Engineering College, Ghaziabad. The conference was jointly organized by the Department of Information Technology, the Department of Computer Science & Engineering, and the Department of Computer Science. The welcome address was given by Director Dr. Vikram Bali. The conference briefing and introduction of Keynote Speakers was given by Dr S N Rajan (Dean Academic), The Keynote speakers of the event were Dr. H S Sharma, Chairman, Computer Society of India, Ghaziabad Chapter. Mr Wasfi Hassan, Ex-Secretary General, AARDO, Jordan, Prof. Subarna Shakya, Director, IT Innovation Centre, Tribhuwan University, Nepal, Dr Max Ryynanen, Alto University, Finland, Dr Nawaf O Alsrehin, University of Wisconsin, Madison, USA, Mr. Sinisaa Rudan, Faculty of CHAOS, Science & Arts for Humanity & Culture, Co-founder CHOAS, Serbia. They all enlightened our students. A vote of thanks was given by Dr. Sonali Mathur, Head of Department, Department of Computer Science & Engineering. 

Around 52 research and technical papers were presented by the students of IMS Engineering College and some other colleges of repute. IMS Engineering College, Ghaziabad participated in the "World's Largest Climate Clock Assembly & Display Event" on April 22, at Indira Gandhi Indoor Stadium, New Delhi. The event is conducted by Energy Swaraj Foundation jointly with AIM-NITI Aayog, CSIR and AICTE.

Dr Pankaj Goel, Dean- Students Welfare and Dr. Sachi Singh, Professor-Applied Science Department along with a few students participated in this mega event on behalf of IMS Engineering College. 

Shri Jitendra Singh, Minister of Science and Technology was the chief guest of the event. Prof.(Dr.) T. G. Sitharam, Chairman AICTE, Dr. N. IMS Engineering College Receives Golden Appreciation Award

IMS Engineering College, Ghaziabad has received the Golden Appreciation Award for the Energy literacy program. In this program, around 1700 participants including students, staff and faculty members of IMSEC participated. They completed all five modules and cleared all the quizzes given at the end of the modules. The activity was very well coordinated by Dr. Sachi Singh along with all the HoDs. Further in this regard, a team of 15 faculty and students will be representing IMSEC at the world's largest, unique and world record event at Indira Gandhi Indoor Stadium. On the occasion of Earth Day, on 22nd April 2023, All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) jointly with Atal Innovation Mission (AIM) – NITI Aayog and Energy Swaraj Foundation is organizing the ‘World’s largest Global Climate Clock Assembly and Display’ event. IMSEC will be a part of this MEGA-event for creating awareness for immediate climate corrective action! The Department of Computer Science and Engineering, IMS Engineering College organized a workshop on “Digital Awareness” in association with ITII (Information Technology Institute of India) on 13th April, 2023 under the supervision of Dr. Sonali Mathur, HOD CSE & Ms. Ritika Dhyani (Coordinator). The guest speaker for the session was Ms. Kitty Bagga (Digital Marketing Expert), Mr. Sparsh Bagga (Internet Business Coach), and Mr. Naveen ( Developer at ITII). The session was attended by 200+ students. The speakers gave their valuable insights regarding full-stack development. They mainly talked about the recent programming languages that the IT Industry is using these days. They showed various live projects and discussed the background of those projects. They guided the students regarding various internship opportunities and also about the various aspects of digital marketing. The session was extremely informative and interactive.

Department of Biotechnology of IMS College Conducts an orientation Program for New Courses

Department of Biotechnology conducted the Orientation Program for the four Value Added Certification Programs that started today i.e., on Wednesday, April 12, 2023. These programs have been started for B.Tech Biotechnology 2nd and 3rd year students to improve their job prospects and impart beyond the curriculum knowledge in students. The program coordinators for various courses viz. Dr. Indu Bhatt, Mr. Mohit Kumar, Dr. Pankaj Verma and Dr. Avinash Singh gave an overview of the value-added programs ‘Aquaponic Culture’, ‘Microbial Techniques’, ‘Nanotechnology’ and ‘Hydroponic Techniques and its Applications’, respectively. They also guided the students about the potential benefits of these add-on courses. In the end, Dr. SN Rajan, Dean Academics also addressed students and praised the efforts of the biotechnology department for organizing these programs.

IMS Engineering College Ghaziabad has celebrated its 14th Convocation with immense enthusiasm, vibes of positivity and spirituality on 19th March 2023. Convocation is indeed a most pious, long awaited and prestigious academic ritual for all post-graduating and graduating students because the testimony of their academics is being fruited by conferring Degrees to them.

The ambience of the IMS campus was intoxicated by the fragrance of “envisioning career success” coupled with enriched academic aroma. The students seemed promising and devoted to their careers. The event triggered with the normal course of inauguration by the lighting of the ceremonial lamp, chanting of Saraswati Vandana and garlanding her to evoke and seek her blessings and honoring guests with mementos and floral tributes.

The institute is having postgraduate and undergraduate courses in Management and Engineering respectively. Around 650 Degrees were conferred to the deserving recipients pertaining to their respective courses for the academic session 2022.

The director of IMS Engineering College Dr. Vikram Bali welcomed all the distinguished and eminent dignitaries who were all invited to solicit and grace the auspicious occasion. Prof. (Dr.) Manish Gaur Hon’ble Pro Vice-Chancellor-Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Technical University Lucknow, Hon’ble Chief Guest Shri. Arvind Kumar-Director General-Software Technology Parks of India (Under Ministry of Electronics & IT, Government of India), Guest of Honors, Dr. Sushil. K. Srivastava Scientist “H” NRSC, ISRO & Shri. Sunil Goyal CEO-Sopra Banking Software Banking India and many other elite persons were present to witness the picturesque event.

Honorable Chairman Shri Naresh Agarwal, Treasurer Shri. Sanjay Agarwal and General Secretary Shri Rakesh Chhariya of IMS society along with other academic, executive and governing council members of IMS, parents, media persons and students were all greeted by the director. Prof. (Dr.) Manish Gaur Hon’ble Pro Vice-Chancellor-Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Technical University Lucknow declared the Convocation opened and the annual progressive report of the institution was disseminated by Dr. Vikram Bali the director of the institution.

 Hon’ble Pro Vice-Chancellor, Prof. (Dr.) Manish Gaur blessed all the graduated students after the distribution of degrees and oath ceremony. He said “Convocation is a day which marks the beginning of a rich professional career, you just need a filtered vision and a vow to encounter every obstacle with confidence, grace and optimism. Persistence and consistency are the two wheels to success. The adjectives that add value to your efforts are determination and integrity. Wishing all the very best for all future endeavors in your career.”

Hon’ble Chairman of IMS Society Shri Naresh Agarwal bestowed his choicest blessings to all the students. His address focused on “maintaining the dignity and authenticity of the knowledge that has been endorsed by their degrees. 

 Director, Dr. Bali too blessed the students in his address by saying that a student initiates to visualize a fray of successful sequential activities that led him to the dream destination of value-based placements. He further added that to contribute to the nation a strategic path should be paved by all students that would add glory and success to them and escalate humanity also.

Last but not the least; Dean Academics Dr. S.N. Rajan bestowed the vote of thanks and praised all faculty members for doing a remarkable job and for paving the career path for students. He added that besides imparting quality education to the students, the teaching fraternity also navigates the budding professionals through motivation and generating interest in subjects. All HoDs along with their faculty members of all departments graced the occasion with their august presence and blessed students for a brighter seamless career ahead. The students had their group photographs. The event got culminated with High Tea and a gala lunch.

Foxit Software Inc. Visits IMS Engineering College

Managing Director and Country Head (Academic Alliance) Miss. Jeeny Li representing her China-based organization named Foxit Software Inc. visited IMS Engineering College Ghaziabad to explore the feasibility of the Industry Academic Alliance. The basic purpose of her visit was to quest for high-quality academics, research-based mind orientation and innovative culture to seek leverage of highly intrinsic human resources to cater to the current needs of her company. She had interacted with the honorable Director Prof. (Dr.) Vikram Bali, Deans, HoDs and senior faculty members. Moreover, she was having the inclination to get acquainted with the students also to get an insight of their acumen pertaining to her mission. Thus, she communicated with the selected students’ fraternity and tried to capture their growth instincts and future strategies they had formulated for themselves. While unveiling her future orientations, she stated that her organization is on track for business expansion and development in all verticals. The futuristic prospects require human resources, who are versatile, dynamic and envisioned their career path to conquer greater heights in the future. This vision of hers can only be accomplished by having an “Industry Academic Alliance”. She had explored the institution and get acquainted pertaining to the facilities and conducive environment IMSEC bestows to the employees & students. After her task got over, she was found in a state of contentment and seemed confident to spur growth in her organization once the alliance had been approved and implemented with a collaborative approach to achieve holistic success.

The Director of the institution Prof. (Dr.) Vikram Bali was extremely optimistic and affirmative to foresee developments after the alliance will get executed. He added that when strategic plans have a specific direction and with definite time-bound approach, positive results are bound to happen. He thanked Miss. Jeeny Li for her valuable and historic visit to India and for getting associated with IMS Engineering College. He added “we are committed to have this iconic alliance and the vital amalgamation of Industry & Academic that will lead to enduring values between us. A Seminar on Career Opportunities at IMS Engineering College

On April 26th, 2023, Squadron Leader Gautam Kumar Gandhi of the Indian Air Force visited IMS Engineering College to provide guidance to pre-final year engineering students about the various career opportunities available within the organization. During his presentation, he shared detailed information about the career prospects within the IAF and offered advice on how to prepare for a successful career within the organization. After the presentation, Squadron Leader Gandhi took the time to answer questions from the students and also held a separate session for first-year engineering students who were interested in joining the IAF.

Squadron Leader Gandhi is from the Samastipur district in Bihar and is an alumnus of Kendriya Vidyalaya Tughlakabad, Army Institute of Technology, National Defence Academy, and JNU, where he received his B.Sc. degree. He was commissioned into the fighter stream of the Indian Air Force in 2015 and has since been posted to five different bases and flown seven different aircraft across India's varied and challenging terrains, including the Northeast and Siachen Glacier. He has also held several key appointments, including Chief Operations Officer at a forward IAF location for a short period. Squadron Leader Gandhi is highly commended for his dedicated service to the IAF.

Aside from his military achievements, Squadron Leader Gandhi is also a keen sportsman who enjoys swimming, running, and playing badminton. He is currently serving as a Squadron Pilot in one of the IAF's most prestigious units at Air Force Station Hindan. The students who attended his session were highly motivated by his presentation and inspired by his accomplishments.
