You have held key positions at education institutes throughout your career. What are the key factors that keep you connected with the education sector?
The first thing is my passion for teaching. I have a great passion for teaching and I have held different positions as head of the institution and head of the department and as a Co-ordinator of quality assurance cell in this institution. As a professor, my greatest satisfaction comes from influencing students careers and thought processes and seeing how it contributes to the development of the country. The best part of working in education is that you get to discuss with students a wide range of issues such as how education affects the economy, how it matures the nation, and how students may contribute to a happy society.
Being a principal of Gates College, how do you strategize about the programs and plans for marketing and administration of your college?
Education, real-world experience, and placements are the three factors that students use to rank the priority of admission to institutes. Student buy-in is increased when the department communicates about the calibre of instruction and the variety of approaches employed. The educational process and the benefits of teaching are explained to students. Through partnerships with various organizations, the institution implements an experiential learning style that allows students to gain practical experience through handoffs. Club activities that engage, and motivate students is a key component of our student involvement plan.
In addition, we use social media, internet advertising, and well-designed websites as digital marketing tools.
In addition, we hold events like webinars, and information sessions to provide potential students with information about our programmes, faculty expertise, and success stories.
The education systems in India and other foreign countries are structured very differently. In your experience what can an inbound student gain from studying here in your college?
"Only India has the traditional touch to education."
The moral and ethical standards ingrained in Indian society serve as the foundation for the country's educational system. The fact that the students are learning in a monitored setting gives them the strength to face obstacles in life. The students are equipped with technical knowledge of foundational subjects, coding, interacting, and other societal challenges.
Any insights into how your college could be more welcoming to students of different races and economic backgrounds?
We make sure that deserving students have access to scholarships.
We have a very reasonable fee structure, to start. In other words, it swiftly covers a sizable portion of the populace. The fact that many students are worthy but not well-off financially must also be considered. Many students are getting government scholarships and few students are getting scholarships from non-government agencies. Even institute is offering scholarships for deserving students.

When you first came to Gates College, what was your vision for the college? Does it evolved and how far along in implementing that vision are you?
I joined here as an Associate professor in the Electrical & Electronics engineering department 4 years ago. That time, I had a different vision. Now I am the principal of this college. So now my vision is completely different. I am aware of the current circumstances outside. The fact that students are not choosing these essential branches bothers me. The system will quickly become out of balance. As a team, we are doing everything we can to help our students. comparable to the other institutions.
What do you see as the Gates's greatest strength?
Our ability to accept students from diverse backgrounds is our greatest asset.
