How long have you been with Gates College, and what do you think your roles and responsibilities are?
I've been with Gates College for approximately nine years. Previously, I served as an Assistant Placement Officer and now hold the position of Placement Officer. My primary responsibilities include providing training and creating placement opportunities for our students. As for the placement team, we have 15 members. Each department has two coordinators who actively support the training programs from the first year to the final year, in addition to assisting in organizing placement drives.
What are the companies that Gates has brought to campus?
We've had numerous companies visit our campus for placement drives, both on-campus and off-campus. Notable companies include Infosys, TCS, Capgemini, and Accenture, with Accenture scheduled to visit soon. We've hosted a wide array of companies, and almost all of them have conducted interviews on our campus.
What internship programs are you offering to the students?
We offer internship opportunities in various platforms for our students. We've partnered with Internshala, where our students have secured paid internships. Additionally, we have collaborations with other internship providers, and we recently signed an MOU with EduSkills to offer long-term and short-term internships. Students can expect to have an opportunity for internships every two months.

What training programs do you offer to the students?
We have a structured training program for our students. For first-year students, we focus on soft skills training to help them overcome barriers from their schooling and improve interaction. In the second year, we introduce aptitude training and start technical training. The technical training includes topics like C&N data structure, which are vital for job readiness. In the third year, we encourage students to enroll in internships and pursue certifications, preparing them for placements.
How many placements have Gates received, and in which streams?
This year, we've already completed four placement drives. We had exclusive placements for mechanical, civil, and MBA students with the MLA Group of construction companies. Accenture is set to visit soon, and a few more companies are in the pipeline. We provide around 20 to 25 placement opportunities for our students annually.
What are the highest packages the students have received thus far?
The highest package received by our students so far is 15 lakhs per annum, with an average of approximately 3.4 lakhs. On-campus placements account for 65 to 70% of our students, and they continue to secure jobs even after graduating.
