You have held key positions at education institutes throughout your professional career. What are the key factors that keep you connected with the education sector?

So, based on the college’s vision and mission, the key responsibilities may be varied. But as a general pattern, almost all engineering colleges focus on placements only. Being responsible for positions in different colleges, my focus is also basically first placements. Placement is connected to the economic performance of the students. So, the basic first primary goal is how best we can train the student in terms of economics. That will be automatically connected to the placements.

As the director of Avanthi Institute of Engineering and Technology, what is your leadership philosophy? How would you describe your leadership style?

My leadership pattern is simply to create leaders. Encourage the best students as well as the faculty who have the capability, and who have the will to get an identity. My philosophy is to identify and encourage such people in terms of different activities. In academics as well as administration. Sir, you are a copper marketer. I believe in team spirit. Teamwork only can give you the best if you feel that I am achieving something, that is the team’s achievement. That is my simple philosophy.

The education systems in India and other foreign countries are structured very differently. In your experience, what can an inborn student gain from studying here in your institute?

To be frank, in recent days, because of the revolutions in central government and new education policies, Indian students are almost on par with the foreign students. Whatever the system, the total universe is following, the same system is being implemented by the Indian government. Fortunately, the Andhra Pradesh government is the first government throughout India to follow the national education policy. The same pattern is also followed by Avanthi Institute of Engineering and technology, which is almost competent to foreign university people. In last year’s statistics, those who were delivered from Avanthi Institute Engineering and Technology, almost 20 to 25 members joined different foreign universities. Unless and until these are competent enough for other countries, it is not possible. Avanthi is not an exemption. We are following the same pattern. Even though it is not present in the university curriculum, we are trying to give you additional training, which is sufficient, which is required for foreign education, which is required for competing with the global scenario.

How does the curriculum of Avanthi Institute of Engineering and Technology ensure the best practice of the industry?

Being affiliated colleges, we don’t have such flexibility to change our syllabus. We have to follow the syllabus of JNTU. But one thing, the fortunate thing of the JNTU is, that every three years JNTU will change the syllabus, based upon the requirements of the industry. They will analyze, and they will form a committee. The committee will interact with the different industry people. According to the industry, they will modify the syllabus. But in Avanthi, we will not wait for a change of the syllabus by the university. The requirements of the industry may change from year to year. We will not wait for three years. If it is required for them, immediately we will add it as an add-on course, a certification course. All these courses will be included as a part of the curriculum, even if it is not present in the curriculum.

Any insights into how your institute could be more welcoming to students of different races or economic backgrounds?

I don’t want to point out other institutions. A lot of institutions are there. They are encouraging a few sets of community people. They may focus on one set of financial background people or something. It is our institution because our motto is service. It is not a commercial type of institution. Even middle-class people can be joined in our institution. Our fees are very flexible. In terms of financial background, there are no restrictions. Below-average financial people as well as above-average people are open to joining our institution. As per the state government policy, the complete fees are given by the government itself. Those who have the white card. In that aspect, we are getting a good number of poor people. When it comes to the B category people, because it is a management quota, the management quota also our fees are very flexible. Even though the government has given three times of fees, our focus is not to burden the parents. If they are interested, if they have a talent, if they have a good percentage of intermediate, we are giving the concession in the fees and we are encouraging the students. So there is no point in any differential racism in terms of financial background. If a student can feel, it is a very good and comfortable institution.

What do you think your roles and responsibilities towards the institute and the students are?

Being a director, I am looking after three different colleges. As per the management vision and mission, I have to drive the remaining administration positions. The principles of other institutions. Because this institution has 14 total institutions altogether, the management is very busy with managing all the resources and everything. They will give us directions. The directions are as per the vision of the total organization. According to that vision and mission, as per our short-term goals, and long-term goals, I will give the directions to the higher positions of the other colleges. So that they can drive the students in that aspect because the ultimate goal of the student is to either get a good placement or the best degree in higher education. Accordingly, we will plan it.

When you first came to Avanthi Institute of Engineering and Technology, what was your vision for the institute? Has it evolved and how far along in implementing that vision are you?

Here there are two different aspects. One is directly giving the best to the student. The second aspect is every institution should follow the directions of the state government as well as the central government. That is a minimum requirement. Apart from the minimum requirement, we have to enhance the colleges to the next second level. By getting accreditation. Accreditation by the national institutions or foreign institutions. That gives the best quality to the students. In the initial days of my joining, our colleges were not accredited by the institutions. Now slowly we are getting it. It is already accredited with B++ grading. Now we applied for a renewal. Now our target is A++ or A++. With our team effort, we have confidence that we will achieve it.
