Internship at St. Johns Medical College Hospital, Bangalore. During my internship of one month, I learned how a dietary department runs in a hospital setup. I learned how to plan meals for patients with different ailments. I would visit various wards along with a senior dietician. I would explain to the people about a balanced diet. I would also coordinate with specialist doctors to prepare meal plans for patients with special needs and requirements.

Campus Life:

Annual cultural and tech fests are held from time to time. Education and field trips are conducted at regular intervals. The library is vast and contains a number of books and CDs for reference. Totally average and not much helpful. There were 60 students in my class. It is on luck few teachers were excellent like one sir rest were too busy. Too much attitude and not explaining or repeating concepts. So don't depend on teachers yes connection with them is helpful, Study Yourself.

The fee was good, earlier it was around 20000 later increased to 30000 because many new labs, apparatus, college building etc were developed so it was taken somewhat from students' pocket too. But overall it was quite affordable and a positive for middle-low class people.

The fees structure of my college is affordable according to my family income and the total fees for 3 years is 40,000 . There are also many scholarships given and available to the students .There is OBC scholarship for OBC students where they are given 5000 per year .There is also scholarships for SC and ST students which will be intimated to the students about the scholarships provided by the SC and ST cell. There is also scholarships provided by Avinashilingam trust for nearly 600 students . There are also scholarships available for physically challenged students to pursue their studies . There is an incubation center in our college which provides part time jobs for students and the student gets paid for the work done . Some of the jobs they give in the incubation center is tailoring jobs ,book art , or other online jobs which provided us with both learning experience and also we were paid for the work done .

Every year Kalai vizha is conducted. Then each department will conduct some special activity. In my department, they used to conduct world breastfeeding week and world nutrition week. Our library is very big. It contains the books, journal from 1950 - 2021. It is having e facilities like in online we can access book with our password and login ID. The classroom is a smart classroom with projectors. It will be spacious to occupy 60 people in one class. At the ug level, we have select NSS/NCC/sports. Anyone is mandatory. To complete the course we need 142 credits. This NSS/NCC/ Sports in each semester there will be the exam. The campus has wifi access. Fee, faculty feedback form everything is online. The college website is www.avinuty.ac.in . On this website from admission to exam result, the students can access.

Placement Experience:

In the second year of college, there will be an internship for 15 days. We have done it in multi speciality hospital/food industry. While doing itself we will know about the vacancy for various post. In the 3 rd year starting itself, the campus interview will be started. For preparing us for the interview the soft skill and communication skill class will be conducted. We had various recruitment from the pink ladies fitness centre, visionary RCM, Wipro, TCS etc., We can be an entrepreneur also after completing the degree. As we are having practical papers in Bakery and confectionery and new product development.
