Faculty

The faculty-to-student ratio at our institution is designed to facilitate personalized attention, typically ranging from 1:15 to 1:20. This smaller class size allows faculty to engage more directly with students, fostering a supportive learning environment. Faculty members are generally approachable and encourage students to seek help outside of class hours, creating a culture of open communication. Many students feel comfortable discussing academic challenges or seeking advice on career paths, which contributes significantly to their overall academic success. Faculty You Liked Among the faculty,Dr. Anup Vibhute stand's for his teaching methods & that capture students’ attention, making complex topics easier to understand. Students appreciate how he incorporates real-world examples, which helps in relating theoretical concepts to practical applications.

Course Curriculum Overview

Unique elective options, hands-on projects, and industry-relevant topics attracted me to this course. The curriculum provides a solid foundation for real-world applications through practical projects and internships, while theoretical courses prepare for further academic pursuits.More industry collaborations, updated content reflecting current trends, and interactive teaching methods could enhance the curriculum.Exams such as insem and endsem. Insem is of 30 marks and and endsem is of 70 marks. But Now from this year there is only Endsem.

The annual fest that happens in college is Abhiyaan and the tech fest is named arising these are conducted at end of January or in February. There are plenty of books available in the Library as per our requirement. Classrooms are big enough and with a good amount of ventilation because of the large windows. Every classroom has CCTV, a projector and screen are also there. And very rarely power failure happens. Sports are carried out in January or February. many individual and group sports are allowed to play. Every year an auto expo is carried out in which superbikes and supercars are brought and kept in the exhibition. Fashion shows, dance competitions, singing, and many other extracurricular activities are happening. There is a crescendo for students in singing and music, NSS, Sigma is the social group run by students in college.

Course Curriculum Overview

Instrumentation engineering is related to processing controls and automation in industries which increases the chances of getting placement. There is 1 teacher as a mentor for every 8 students, and faculty members are really helpful, they will help you throughout the course. They guide us in a direction to get us successful. Every faculty has completed their master's at least and they are really good in their field and many faculties are also Ph.D. qualified. Term exams happen every 6 months after the end of semthe ester and during the semester 2 internal assessment test happens.

Placement Experience

Students are eligible for placements from the 7th semester. Multiple IT companies like tcs, cognizant, Accenture, LTI, Wipro, Infosys, etc. visited. The highest package in an IT job can reach upto 7-8lpa and the avg. is 4-5 LPA. With regards to core instrumentation companies, fewer visits. Like Johnson control, Worley, DFPCL, Burns, and McDonnell, etc. with an average package of 4 LPA. Most students that apply for placements get placed.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fees are pretty consistent throughout the course. But if you're not eligible for any scholarship, the fees can be a bit excessive. Many scholarships/govt. assistance is available on basis of family income, caste, etc. There is a placement cell and it is quite easy (with a bit of work) to get a job with a 3-4loa package.

Fests like Horizon make RAIT worth mentioning the fests. They are held in April. It has an amazing vibe and quite a time to be in the college. People can participate in various activities and contribute to the making of fests. The library is huge and has computers to study. You can issue 4 books at a time. Classrooms have Air Conditions but are rarely used as there is sufficient ventilation. There are projectors and boards for the ease of teaching and understanding. Apart from the Academics, RAIT offers various committees from which you can choose and work as an extracurricular activity. From the social wing to the International Society of Automation team to the Student Union Council, whatever best suits your personality.

Placement Experience

Companies start coming from the 7th semester onwards. Eligibility varies from company to company. However, most of the companies need a minimum of 60% in 12th and 60% and above in B.E. Companies like Dell, Lenovo, IBM, ITC, Indian Army, Worley, Johnson Controls, etc usually come in RAIT with regular packages. Students can take upto 2 offers. A normal offer and a dream offer. Normal offer are companies with package of 5LPA and below, and dream offers are companies with package 5LPA and above. Students can easily get placed if they try and prepare well for the interviews.

Campus Life

There were good annual sports and cultural festivals, generally conducted in the months of February or march. Decent number of books and journals are available in the library. Classrooms are spacious. There are also good chances of publishing your stuff in the college magazine. There are clubs formed by students, which are totally voluntary for personal growth.

Placement Experience

Campus placement is scarce in this area. Employability can be found in open campus interviews or getting well prepared for exams like gate. It is easier for a candidate to start focusing on civil services, because environment is more suited for discussions and debates. Good reputation of the college, anyways helps.

As every Diploma passing student enters to degree college same process I went through. The faculty of the college are well educated and hardworking. As a student, you have to reach out to your faculty and maintain a good relation with them to get constant support from them. the ratio is 25:1. The teaching method of professors is very professional. Exams are as per the government regulations and the difficulty level is moderate for general students.

Course Curriculum Overview

I choose Instrumentation because it has wide range of scope out of India. Faculty student ratio is 1:30. All qualified staff and also very helpful in everything. If you are going through personal problems they will also help you for that. College also provides project fund that was such a good thing. There were two term exams means UT. That were about 60 marks. You must get 24 marks to complete your internal assessment. Submissions are strict. It has horizon event which is famous throughout the Mumbai. College has its own cricket stadium. Many concerts, cricket matches are there, what else do you want.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Fees infrastructure is similar according to government schemes. If your income below the level which government has decided to give you scholarship then you have to pay according to your cast. And also if you want scholarship then you should be present 70% throughout entire year. Campus selection is also good. Many companies came for placement, such as TCS, Accenture, Capgemini etc.

Remarks

Ramrao Adik Institute of Technology, preferably known as RAIT is the great college to be in. It has the best infrastructure and they take utmost care of health and hygiene. It has a good faculty staff who helps us in whatever way possible. It has a good placement drive which attracts many like me to get the admission out here. It has a great amenities and an overall great atmosphere to chill and make beautiful memories with friends. The best part is the cultural festival and the Horizon which everyone eagerly waits for the whole year to come. It's 3 days of madness where everyone enjoys and dance to the fullest. The college has different extra curricular activities which makes it apart from the traditional college life. It respects every field equally and helps every individual to achieve their dream. All these reasons make this college quite different from others and I had no doubt while choosing this over others and finally after completing my engineering I can now say that I had taken the right choice for sure.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fees is formidable I must say which is normal like any other engineering college would take. The course is of 4 years and it won't cost more than 4 Lakhs for the complete course. This is the highest fees the college would take which is for the General Category. The college has the reservation policy for other categories as well as those who cannot afford this much. So they have bifurcated quite well in terms of the category. I got placed in TCS with a package of 3.36 Lpa which is quite good for the freshers. Campus placement is good where almost 50-70% students got the placement which is a good%.

I got into Instrumentation Engineering because I got fewer marks in MHT-CET & JEE(mains) which was 50/200 in CST and 17/360 in JEE in 2018. Staffs here are helpful in every aspect. Sometimes they don't even take lectures as they get exhausted after continuously taking lectures. And yes you can even bunk like Mass Bunkbut for once it's accepted by teachers but not every time as they have the grades in their hands they will make you do anything like writing assignments 3-4 times more. Most of the teachers are PHD holders. So, don't mess with them, as one of my friends stuck in KTs(internal). The method to get high internal is that be in the sights of every teacher so that they recognise you by your name and boom you will get internal above 20 out of 25. This matters a lot while results so, be in the good books of your teachers. And sometimes they will provide you Sample question bank for TERM TESTS. And the questions will be given from that question bank. So, getting good marks is simple.

Placement Experience

From the end of 6th sem, the placements activities get starts. You have to keep the criteria of 60% or 6.75 CGPA average at the time of placements because most of the companies need these criteria to be fulfilled by the candidates they are trying to hire. Coding skills are a must for every damn single department as the placement cell will let you know at the time of training. So, start coding before you even join engineering. Just be the master of anyone program either it be C, C++, JAVA, PYTHON, C#, etc. if you're a coder then congrats you will get the highest package of 15L but it totally depends on your CV or resume. Best of luck with that. Cream students(great coders) can get up to 3 job offers after that college doesn't provide them with many jobs offers because there will be other students too for the placements. Every company provides different packages like TCS starting from 3/3.5L (digital) up to 7.7L(ninja) per annum. Totally depends on the company.

Ques. Which is better, EE at DTU or ICE at NSIT?

● Top Answer By Tithi Aggrawal on 04 Jul 23

Ans. There is no better branch between EE at DTU and ICE at NSIT. It's all about preferences and inclinations. To help you make an informed decision let's talk about both the branches individually EE at DTU EE at DTU is core electrical engineering wherein you are taught concepts related to power, grids, electrical machines, etc.  For placements, core companies like BHEL and companies in the energy field visit the campus.  ICE at NSIT This branch has Control Engineering concepts along with electrical, electronics, and computer engineering.ICE has very light coursework and it's easy to maintain a good CGPA.  You also get enough time for your passions and extracurriculars. IT giants like Facebook, Google, etc. Don't allow ICE students to sit for placements.  Core companies that recruit students of this branch include Qualcomm, Texas Instruments, and others.  Non-tech companies like BCG, Bain, and JPMC allow all students to sit for placements. NSIT has a larger batch size and thus the competition here is less than DTU for placements but it still it cannot match the brand value of DTU. In all, both DTU and NSIT have similar opportunities and placements so with the right mindset you can do well at both colleges. Read more

Ques. How is ICE at NIT Trichy?

● Top Answer By Raya Das on 24 Mar 21

Ans. My brother is a recent graduate of Instrumentation and Control Engineering at NIT Trichy, so let me share some facts about its overall performance.  There are some pros and cons of the department which include: Pros: Vibration control research in ICE at Nit Trichy is really good. Robotics, Control, and Electronics are also good for pursuing your graduate studies. Career/ Job aspects across a variety of profiles are accessible for ICE graduates in campus placements. Seniors help a lot with academics. You will be trained to work under pressure. Classrooms are neat and have a great environment. No uniform is required for entering the labs. Categories ICE at NIT Trichy Course Fee 5.65 lakh Placement Percentage 80-90% Highest CTC 20 LPA Average CTC 12 LPA Recruiting Companies Tech Mahindra, TCS, Texas Instruments, JP Morgan, etc. Cons: There are only 11 faculties in the department out of which only two faculties teach properly.  Labs are not up-to-the-mark. Most of the electronics components don’t work properly. The guidance is inadequate. Assignments provide little help. Due to continuous fests in the college, it might be difficult to concentrate on your studies. Like every college, there should be 4 classes per week, but here in ICE, the faculty members tend to keep 6-8 classes per week with students attending the classes just for the attendance. Subjects like PDD, Engineering Mechanics, and Analytical Instrumentation are taken for granted.  If you are really interested in Instrumentation, only then you should join this department. Otherwise, join some other branch in NIT T so that you are able to learn something.Read more

Ques. How is Instrumentation and Control engineering in NIT Trichy?

● Top Answer By Shaheena Sheikh on 06 Sept 21

Ans. For understanding the several factors relevant to the institute, you should know both the advantages and disadvantages that are in favor of you. Thus, here is a detailed breakdown of every aspect you should know about NIT Trichy.  Instrumentation and Control Engineering (ICE) at NIT Trichy -  The placement ratio of the branch is really high.  Students can have multiple opportunities in both circuital and non-circuital engineering fields.  The faculty of NIT Trichy is extremely cooperative and helpful for students pursuing their higher education. Moreover, there is a lesser number of credits, unlike many other departments, helping students have free time. Thus, it can lead students to pursue their hobbies, alongside education. Most essentially, it escalates students to acquire a good rank in GATE, leading them to secure positions in top PSUs.  Besides, it inculcates advanced interdisciplinary engineering, making it convenient for students to secure positions at top foreign universities.  Categories ICE at NIT Trichy Course Fee 6.65 lakhs Highest CTC 28 LPA Average CTC 12-16 LPA Recruiting Companies Qualcomm, Morgan Stanely, Accenture, Flipkart, etc. The major disadvantage to talk about is, It can degrade your performance if you lag behind, during study hours. There is no other significant drawback of neither the branch nor the institute. So opting for this course can be a good step.Read more

Ques. Which would be better to take from NIT Trichy: instrumentation and control or production?

● Top Answer By Anirban Biswas on 04 Sept 21

Ans. I know a little bit about ISI Kolkata since I have a few friends from the institute. Here is what you should know about the internships between semesters.  The course curriculum specifies that in the summer after completing your first year of M.Tech, you have to do an internship either in the industry or academia. You will have 3 options.  Industry: Many companies that visit the Campus for placements of 2nd-year students also select interns for the same. Some of such companies are Samsung Research Labs, Google, General Electric, Reliance, Flipkart, De Shaw, JP Morgan Chase, etc. The average stipend offered last year was 65,000 rupees/month. Some companies offer more than 1 lakh/month. One of my friends interned at Samsung Research Labs. Academia: As per ISI guidelines, you need to pursue an internship at a different academic Institute or industry. A friend of mine went to NUS Singapore, while two others went to a university in Germany. You can also apply to other institutes in Japan, USA, and Europe. People also go to IITs, CMI, and other Tier-1 Institutes of India. Within ISI: If for some reason you could not get an internship in the above-mentioned ways, you can approach any of the 250+ faculty members across all 5 ISI‘s and can ask to work with them in their labs. You will have internships at the end of the first year. In the second year, you will have placements, dissertation, academics. So, the only time left to do an additional internship is the winter break after the first sem. Unless you are extremely enthusiastic, I will suggest that you take a break during this period. Because after the break you will be swamped with coursework for 1.5 years.Read more

Ques. Is the instrumentation and control engineering course at NIT Trichy tough?

● Top Answer By Rajiv Shankar on 31 Aug 21

Ans. The answer would be Yes. One of my friends had completed B.Tech in Instrumentation and Control Engineering from NIT Trichy. The course is definitely tough but the level of difficulty perceived may differ from person to person. And here is some of the information about the course. Sheer multi-disciplinary nature of subjects : In the very same semester, the candidate will have to study a varied range of subjects such as Fluid mechanics, Material sciences and Circuit theory.  All of these subjects require a good knowledge about modeling in different areas of Physics as it is one of the most essential skills of an Instrument designer. Involvement in Laboratory activities : Practical knowledge is very important.  Most of the lab exercises are worked in a team.  Thus to complete any task starting from designing, experiment and analysis within a particular given time is a bit of a challenge.  It is important for all the team members to work efficiently for the task to be completed. Programming and Analytical skills :  It is important to have a good hold on C/C++ programming to understand subjects such as Data structures/Algo, Embedded systems, Control systems design. Product design and Development : The candidate needs to come with new project ideas and develop it from scratch and make it an Industrial prototype.  This will require a lot of outdoor work, market surveys, meeting suppliers and customer feedback.  Teamwork is very important for such activities. Design specification : Right from the lab exercises, most of the projects and products the candidate needs to work on have a clear Design Specification.  It is important to adhere to those specifications as it demands sincere and laborious efforts from the candidate which might be tough.  The faculty or project guide may also make things tougher. These were some of the aspects that make Instrumentation and Control Engineering tough. The course is pretty involved and demanding. Though all these mentioned aspects and skills are required to be a successful Instrumentation engineer.Read more

Ques. Which one is better - Thapar University (EIC) or JIIT Noida (CSE)?

● Top Answer By Saloni Mohan on 07 Aug 21

Ans. Thapar University in all aspects is a lot better than JIIT. But I am not quite aware of the EIC branch. You can interact with ex-students of the institute online, to get a better idea about the course. If you think it will be a better choice, go for it. According to placements, Thapar is much better than JIIT Noida. Most of the companies that participate in Thapar’s placement program are well reputed like Microsoft, Infosys, and many more. Thapar provides a better industrial exposure to their students. After graduating from Thapar you can opt for both government and private sectors.
