Likes

The faculty is so good and friendly and the teaching method is good and the professor use technical tools.
There are opportunities for scholarships to like the government funded scholarship.
I made quite a good amount of friends and enjoyed various annual festivals that were organised in the college.

Dislikes

The canteen facilities were not so good , and some teachers were rude
campus was sometime very dirty which is not good for students health
I didn't like the behaviour of some staff sometimes they are very rude sometimes

Improvement in Sports activities needed

The campus is comparatively big considering the colleges in Assam.
Located near the center of the town, helps in finding utilities and supplies required for the curriculum.

Dislikes

As a result of located near the center of the town, it can get very noisy during the rush hour.
There is little to no sports activities or competitions, neither local nor intercollegiate.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Learning about different forms and genres of literature was what peaked my interest to choose this course. The works of various influential literature writers that are included in the curriculum are relevant but could be a bit overwhelming at first. The length of the curriculum sometimes put the professors in pressure to complete their assigned syllabus and skip a bit. And some who don't skip, are unable to complete their sullabus. The curriculum may be improved by reducing the some of the contents.

My college

Likes

I liked the academic structure of my College. Its very well developed and better' infrastructures.
I liked that our college has a name for its cultural events.
I liked that the students of our college appreciates the students for their doing in good work

Dislikes

The toilets are verydirty and smelly , the doors are also broken
The members of college counter are not at all attentive towards serious issues
Our college does not provide enough opportunities and facilities

It's the best college for Everyone with a goal and perspective in life.

Likes

My college is a very excellent institution
It's very reuputated among all the colleges in Assam
Teachers are very nice and friendly and treatment is great.

Dislikes

I disliked that majority of students studied there so it's impossible to pay attention to each and every one.
Environment is nice but there are more choas
Classes are tend to be more cancel and before exams classes are held to complete the syllabus

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum is nice as they take us along with them with tours for tourism and historical perspectives. The curriculum prepares us for the real world as they indulge in proper interaction. The areas to be improved is the classes timing, as the classes are more late to be attended.

Genuine update of darrang college

Likes

teaching was good as the professors were well educated
behaviour of the professors were also good some were friendly some were not
some of the college professor become like our parents

Dislikes

the behaviour of college administration were not so good
behaviour of some of the watchman who were allotted to our college were also not fruitful or good to students
some of them get threatened from the gate keeper which should not be done

Course Curriculum Overview:

the course i selected was great experience as i choosed the subject Geography as major subject and also it helps in some of the technical field and also experiences many practical which feels like real life job. there are many more option of making the subject more technical but till now that's doesn't happened in our college. our college exams are organised within 2months of every semester.each semester organise 2 exams one with 20marks and other with 100 marks

Darrang College - The Reality

Likes

the college provides exposure to many different subjects in all categories
The quality of teaching and the staff is also up to the mark
The infrastructure in also decent but it can be better

Dislikes

there is a very limited practical exposure to the arts students
the college also lacks in digital tools and digital gadgets
There must be some kind of practical activity for all fields of students

The course curriculum is very good many things can be learnt from the course we can find a lot of case studies and projects in the curriculum which again is a bonus point for our practical knowledge for ourselves.

A student's perspective on Darrang College

Likes

I really liked the overall environment of the college there is literally zero bullies whatsoever and everyone is friendly and ready to help
The infrastructure is also good with semi urban campus both with touch of modernity and history.
Teaching staff are also good and everyone is quite passionate about teaching.

Dislikes

The college is too much focused on culture which might seem boring and overburnt
There is lack of infrastructure development in some parts of the college.Some buildings are old and still not renovated
Teachers of some department give priorities to the students of their own department and they dont care about students with minor.

I really liked our course structure, its very interesting and full of knowledge and the history of our course is systematic starting with ancient humans in 1st sem to Assam History in 6th sem. The teachers are also well qualified and learning is quite easy with their methods. The frequency of exams as already mentioned..two sessionals and one end semester exam with sessionals being quite easy and end semester exam of medium level.

Most of the teachers of my department are so friendly with all of us like kind of family
My hostelmates, i love them all, college life is good but with hostel they became so good.
The environment of my college in both views like in study and also scenery

Dislikes

Most the rude behavior of the counter sir's towards students i saw during scholarship form submission
Also the high price of college canteen, it is college canteen so it should be less pricely for students. Literally ₹80 for a sandwish bro
The absence of students in class. Environment matters also i like the class when there are atleast 40 of them but students are not prese namaste at all

I'm so into civil service that's why i chosed political science but unfortunately the cut off was so high in pol science i didn't got selected for the department so i chose economics but I'm still satisfied with it.

My experience of Darrang College

Likes

The surroundings are lovely..the whole college is covered with greenery.
Food available in the canteen was hygienic and affordable
Library and classrooms were nice and the faculties were okyish

Dislikes

Not all the faculties but some of them were too strict
Toilets were not so good..Don't know the current scenario as I completed my graduation last year

I heard from someone that geography department of darrang College is good and so I decided took admission there..And from my experience it was good.. There needs to be improvement in exams result duration..it takes almost 7-8months..

I m from political science department and our teachers guide us in every possible way our college and required book are their in our department library and we get chance to build our confidence (seminar conducted by our professor in class).

Dislikes

I don't like about campus is power cut.

It's too good . And very helpful for people whos optional will be PSIR in UPSC . And not only in political science but also in geography and other subjects as well it's in all subject they are help full for many competitive exam.
