Nothing special.I didn't get admission into another Institute/University because of low entrance marks or rank So I had to choose this Institute.
The college environment is good.
GIMT was the first private engineering college in Assam and the
fee structure is low compared to other private engineering college. Also the faculty's were way to good and the facilities were up to mark.
It is the first private college of assam. And being a private college it provide immense facilities for students. The faculties are really good. Placements are also pretty well. Hostel are located within the college campus. So it becomes very convenient for students to attend the classes.
I choosed because my CEE marks which was 92 at that time was not enough to get admission in govt engineering colleges and the OBC cut off was 120+. So, in Whole northeast Girijananda Chowdhury Institute of Management and Technology is the no 1 and the oldest private engineering college and I decided to take admission there.
Because it is near to my city and my sister suggested about it to me. I like about their strict laws in our institute. I opted the course because i want to be a civil engineer, it was my aim from the beginning.
Positive - only the faculties. Negative - no infrastructure. No fund. No nothing. No auditorium. Really low fund even for college fest. No time for extra curriculum. No proper placement. The college do not have a proper boundary too. However the college is trying to expand and hence may be that is the reason. I don't know what the plans are.
It is good for placements. The faculties are good and supporting. The practicals are good. It is the best institute in our area and it is in top 100 colleges of India. There are great alumni in this college. The faculties are from great institutes like IITs and NITs.
Positive remarks the environment is good faculty mambers are good. In terms of academic and extra curriculum activities college is good And negative remarks is placement is very poor and course material is not upto date
