The college's admission process starts after the 10+2 board results, requiring applicants to submit an online application with fees through the college website. Admission is based on a merit list derived from 12th-grade marks, followed by counseling and a final sorted list. Candidates need to keep up with admission dates on the college website and traditionally visit the college to complete the process, although online options are becoming more common.
Faculty members are generally helpful and permanent, with classes structured as 1-hour sessions balancing practical and theoretical learning. The college has 7-8 professors across departments, though a few are noted to be less approachable. The fee structure starts at around 6000 INR for the first year and increases to 8000 INR for the second year, with further hikes anticipated in the third year. Specialized courses like microbiology may have higher fees.
The college does not offer placements or internships, leaving students to find opportunities independently. Although seminars are held to assist in job searching, TCS provides the only placement opportunity, which is limited with no stipend or significant roles. Scholarships are not available directly from the college but can be accessed through the West Bengal Vikash Bhawan scholarship board for students with at least 60% in University exams, as well as government scholarships for post-12th-grade students.
Occasionally, student unions may support financially needy students.
