Course Details
Saveetha University has eight departments ranging from Engineering, Management to Medicine. The main objective of the university is to enrich students in every field and give the world trained professionals in all domains. With highly qualified faculty, Saveetha University has set standards of academic excellence giving great completion to many other universities in the country.
Saveetha Dental College, a constituent college of Saveetha University invites applications for a four years Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) course with one year of internship for the academic year. The admission is based on merit depending upon the performance in the Entrance Exam conducted by the University usually in April. Check Saveetha University Admission
BDS degree from Saveetha University gives license to practice as a dentist in India, Sri-Lanka, Malaysia, Nepal and Singapore. This degree is also accepted for post-graduation in various countries like Canada, USA, Australia, etc.
Saveetha University BDS Eligibility Criteria
Eligibility
- Candidate must have completed two years intermediate, HSC or equivalent examination with core subjects like English, Chemistry, Physics, and Biology from a recognized institute or Indian University or Pre- University.
- Candidate must have not less than 70% aggregate of marks in the subjects of Chemistry, Physics, and Biology in the qualifying exam or competitive examination hosted on similar lines as the qualifying examination by a competent body.
- Candidate must have completed 17 years of age at the time of admission or should acquire this age on 31st December of the year of admission.
- Candidate must be medically fit.
Saveetha University BDS Selection Process
Candidates are selected on the basis of the Entrance Exam conducted by the University. The Entrance Exam will comprise of 150 multiple choice questions (MCQs).
The duration of this exam will be 2 hours 30 minutes. Questions will be asked from Physics (40 questions), Chemistry (40 questions), Biology (20 questions) and Analytical Reasoning (50 questions) based on Plus two (State Board) and CBSE syllabus. All questions will carry one mark.
There is no negative marking.
The exam is held only at the following centres: Chennai, Coimbatore, Hyderabad and New Delhi.
Saveetha University BDS Application Process
Candidates can obtain the Application form in 3 ways:
- In person, by paying through a Demand Draft for Rs. 1000 taken in favour of “Saveetha University”, payable at Chennai
- By post, by sending a requisition letter and a Demand Draft for Rs. 1050 taken in favour of “Saveetha University”, payable at Chennai
- By applying online
How to apply Online
- Candidates can download the Application form from the website http://www.saveetha.com/.
- Fill in the Application form with the required details. The application form should be filled in block letters in your own handwriting using blue/black ball pen. Affix a recent passport size photograph in the spaces provided in the application form.
- Candidates must attach a Demand Draft for Rs. 1000 taken in favour of “Saveetha University”, payable at Chennai
- Candidates must send the final Application Form along with the necessary enclosures to the following address:

Enclosures:
Candidates need to submit original and three sets of photocopies of the following documents:
- Mark list of HSC/10+2 or its equivalent
- Entrance Examination hall ticket
- Conduct Certificate from the institution last studied
- Transfer Certificate from the institution last studied
- Proof of Date of Birth
- Community Certificate
- Eligibility Certificate from this university
- Migration Certificate (if necessary)
- Certificate of extracurricular activities
- Four Passport size and Three Stamp size photographs
- Nationality Certificate and Copy of Passport and Visa (Foreign Students only)

Course Curriculum Overview:
I wanted to become a doctor but was unable to get MBBS admission as my cutoff was marginally less. Hence, I opted for BDS at Saveetha Dental College after my counselling session. The college had experienced teachers, dedicated supporting staff, an ample number of patients and frequent tests.
Fee Structure And Facilities:
Fee Structure is feasible without capitation.2 lakhs 50 thousands have to be paid per annum.exam fees are separate and collected on yearly basis.tution fees and instruments and book charges are separate.
