Saveetha Institute of Medical and Technical Sciences (SIMATS) is a private deemed university in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, started in 1988 as a dental college. It became a university in 2005. SIMATS has 16 colleges offering courses in medicine, dentistry, engineering, law, management, and allied health sciences across two campuses: Poonamallee and Thandalam. It is approved by UGC, AICTE, and NMC, with A++ grade from NAAC. The university ranks 2nd in Dental, and 23rd overall by NIRF 2025.

Saveetha University Campus And Facilities

Saveetha Institute of Medical and Technical Sciences (SIMATS) has two main campuses in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. One is at Poonamallee for dental, management, and law studies. The other is at Thandalam for engineering, physiotherapy, nursing, medical, and liberal arts. The total campus area covers 181 acres with buildings up to 45 lakh square feet. These spaces support learning and daily life for students and staff.

Academic facilities include 56 libraries with over 81,000 books. There are 7,035 computers and 1,157 classrooms with air conditioning and smart tools. Labs number 655, including ones for robotics, cyber security, and virtual reality. Research areas have tools like 3D printers and MRI machines. Hospitals on campus have 1,700 beds, 26 operation theaters, and 100 ICU beds for medical training.

Living facilities include separate hostels for boys and girls with deluxe rooms. There are 125 cafeterias serving multi-cuisine food. Transport includes 150 buses for daily travel. Wi-Fi covers the whole campus.

The great Simata engineering

Likes

There is no ragging in the college all are treated equally
Often intercollege symposium events will be occuring from different departments
Teaching and learning system is very different from other colleges

Dislikes

Some courses will be lasting only for 1 month so we will not able to learn the course properly
Other colleges semester is for 6 months once but here it's 3 months once
No proper wifi connection and long distance from hostel

Actually I felt like Cse is the course that will not be going down in any situation that means it's scope will be always high even though AI I mean artificial intelligence is the fast growing I chose cse because of its everlasting scope

Internship opportunity in various organization provided by the college

All interships are available in our college from many companies like tata ,AWS , cognizant , Google. Yearly once all students from all departments will do projects and will be presenting it to the judges and also we did world record for that .

Placement scenario in campus

College will provide placements more for technical courses. they offer many certification courses for students like oracle with low fees compared to outside.They offer maximum 40 LPA.They often call students to visit the industries.

Fees of the course per year and merit based scholarship available in the college

Actually our college is a management based college there is no counselling. The fees structure is based on the student's 12 th marks. If the student had 90 percent or more cuttoff he or she will get less fees like for example I got 84 percent cuttoff in my 12 th in biomaths, I wanted to join cse in college so for my fees is 2,50,000 whereas my friend got 90 percent cuttoff for her fees is 2,00,000. So like this based on the cuttoff and the course the fees structure differs. Admission fees is 15,000. Yearly they will collect exam fees 9000 and also inbetween they will be collecting course material fees study material fees maximum 5000.all kinds of scholarships are available

Students view on campus life

Actually this college is very enjoyable they conduct events often and all kinds of extra curricular activities are encouraged and also it has big library called sail it's ambience is so good and weekly events and stalls

Facilities provided in the college hostel

We have delux ,ac and non AC rooms . Fees structure differs based on the rooms and all foods are available lots of canteen are available and also lot rented rooms are available near the college like kg, stanza and many more

Students view on faculties

Actually we can see partially among faculties. Few faculties will be nice only for good studying students.but some are nice to everyone. It's actually little easy to clear exams even if we get arrears it will not be shown in our course completion certificate.

How to get admission in the college and what sets the college stand out ?

Actually I wrote exams for VIT ,SRM AND Amirtha college but the fees structure so high I couldn't afford it . Even I got less cuttoff in my 12 th so in management quota other colleges got donation more but in this college there is no donation. So I chooses this one

Night Life

Gym facilities are available.no canteen here instead we have food courts we can eat what food we like . college begins at 8 am and finishes at 3 pm and hostel timing is 8 pm to get in . Actually this is in Chennai we have lot of place to explore

I like the way of teaching and behavior of faculty because they treat us very good and college is fully covered by the trees . I like library because it looks so beautiful and climate of the college
My engagement with campus life is very good and we have lot of social interactions with other colleges

Dislikes

During lunch break it was very difficult to take food from the canteen because of lot of students coming to eat so college try to give 2 timings for lunch

*Compare to other colleges in my college fees was little bit low and placements was compulsory. college provide free internships and workshops for all the students and another reason was my brother studying in this college. thats'y i choose this college. *i didn't get any rejections because i am not visit any college bacuse of i will search college details in the collegedunia and find out the details. * The process of admission is very simple. just we have come to the college and register the admission. for admission we ahve to pay 10000/-

I didn't applied for any other colleges. I ve applied only in the saveetha college of allied health sciences. I didn't get any rejection from the other colleges. We are eligible for this court with our cutoff marks and there is no other examinations.

I applied for same course in acs college but I refused to go for that college because of no transportation. Rather than acs I didn't applied in any colleges and I didn't got rejected from any colleges. There is no particular exams for admission and it's purely based on cutoff marks.

I applied in saveetha college and also in mgr institue. But i wanted to study in saveetha college in my long aim. Cuz in mgr college they have shift based classes for half a day . But in saveetha college there will be college for full day and same for every students no shift based classes. I didnt got any rejections from other colleges. There is no eligiblity exams for allied health scinces. Based on marks and cutoffs admission will be taken.

Compare to other colleges my college goes very speed to complete the syllabus with in 3 years after that 1 year they give placements traings to get good pacements for us and also they took ingernational conferencess to make my resume profile best. Admission process in my college is firstly they shows all the rooms and library and study classes computer classes play ground hostel rooms after that we have sign the college visit letter. If we confirmed to join this college firstly we paid admission fees is 20000

The reputation of the college is very good at various law firms and law offices, this helps us a lot in landing more internships and jobs.

Dislikes

The infrastructure of the college is very limited to the amount of fee that is being payed by the students.

Admission:

I choose Saveetha School of Law for its well rounded curriculum and modern infrastructure, adn practical exposure and opportunities. Compared to other colleges I applied to Saveetha School of Law offered stronger focus on practical learning and real worl application which influenced my decision. I applied to few other law schools, but Saveetha stood out with faculty expertise, location and exposure. I didn't face rejection from the colleges I applied to, but there were instances I didn't make it into some because of high cutoff or because the admission requirements were more competitive, which made it harder to get in. The admisssion process at Saveetha school of law is straightforward. The eligibility required seducers to have completed their 12th grade with 60% score. The cutoff generally depends on the exams score and overall competition of each year. My admission experience was smooth with clear instruction and supportive staff throughout the process.

Saveetha University accepts merit in NEET UG (MBBS), NEET PG (MD / MS), NEET MDS (MDS) and NEET SS (DM / MCh).
For B.Tech Admission, the university accepts merit in Saveetha Common Admission Test (SCAT) followed by TNAE Counselling.
