GIPE Reviews on Placements, Faculty and Facilities

The placements in the GIPE are decent. This year the highest package offered was 18 lakhs per annum by Deloitte and IDFC FIRST Bank. Although the placements are not 100% but it's around 60%. Students need to work hard and score well in aptitude test and they should start the preparation from the second semester onwards so that they can easily manage their end semester exams as well as the aptitude test. The average placement package is around 8-9 lakhs. My plan is to get a corporate job and gain some experience and exposure in the corporate world and learn how the things actually work. Many companies that come to the college are looking for data analytics role. The ratio of the companies looking for consultant, risk analyst is less based on market demand and other circumstances.

The course is very diverse. It comprises of all the other 5-course subject also for better understanding of economic. And it makes sure that by studying this curriculum students can be more focused in this particular field. And make their career in their domain.

Placements are quite well. More than 70% of students get placed. students become eligible for placements from 3 sem onwards Top companies are JPMC, AXIS Bank, HSBC, EXL, Vodafone, EY, Citi bank, Fractal, Ken Research. The highest package offered is around 15 lakhs LPA and the minimum is around 6 lakhs LPA. Majority of students get placed from the FE course. I have also got placed in EXL this year. Placements are also happening even during the pandemic. Majority profiles are offered for data analysts or business analysts. Some other profiles like research analysts or risk analysts are also offered.

Being one of the premier institute of india gipe is special in itself. It is the only institute where the first agriculture survey of india was conducted. It has its own history. Mahatma gandhi use to live in the campus of college with the founder gopal krishna gokhale. If you get affiliated to gipe, you will not regret it. Alsl being situated in the most liveable city pune. You can enjoy your personal life also along with studies.

Faculty is amazing. Placements are nice. Industry knowledge is great. Mess food is average. Hostel infrastructure is amazing have individual washourooms in each room. Rooms are on sharing basis. Admin department is bery helpful. Student mentors are assigned. One thing that is lacking is core economics. Only MSc economics have core economics others have finance trade and agriculture as their core.

Not very rigours, therefore you have to be self motivated to do well. They give you alot of freedom and you have to be responsible for your own growth. Since it's at the postgraduate level they don't spoonfed you with makes students independent and prepares them for life ahead.

The college is very good institute but the faculty is not very willing about the interest of the students regarding placements. The professors are very research oriented which is not a bad thing but it does affect the subject they are teaching. They are very knowledgeable in their own field. The course structure is very good. The campus is fine and there is hostel for all students so accommodation is not problem.

The college should take into consideration the needs of students regarding various subjects. Although the college make available required subject but sometimes the markin criteria is above our heads.
