The real side of Hansraj College, New delhi

Likes

The infrastructure is not the best but better than other colleges.
Rooms are air-conditioned, library is well maintained, there are 5 shops including the canteen that you can eat from.
Faculty is well educated and experienced

Dislikes

The headache that one has to face for short attendance in Hansraj since 2023 is too much.
Sports events are not well organised for the normal students.
It is a little overhyped like all the North campus colleges.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum is I believe still not improved and not equipped to deal with today's modern era. The content has not been updated much. Even though under NEP students may choose from varied range of subjects, many of them are still useless and in-effective.

HANSRAJ COLLEGE-A never ending experience

First things first considering the infrastructure of the college…Hansraj have the prettiest and most aesthetic college campus in DU .,giving tight competition to colleges like miranda hindu LSR and IPCW. The College including the canteen is sooo good
In fact hansraj has got the best canteen food among all the DU Colleges …
The Best part about not only hansraj but every reputed college of DU is the active college societies. I would like every juniors to please become a part of every good and reputed societies of hrc💪🏻As they’ll help you in every aspects .

Dislikes

One thing which disheartened my heart immediately was the lack of good humanities courses in hrc as they only offer 3 Ba honours courses which is english history and philosophy and economics also yes.
The attitude of non teaching staff is sometimes non bearable in college as they consider themselves to above everyone (except principal ofc:))
Hansraj is famous in DU as being among the most conservative college…There are restrictions for almost everything in college…that is one of the major area they need to work on

Placement Experience:

Hansraj is best known for their good placement structure...The internship cell and the placement cell is very active in hansraj and offers numerous opportunities to candidates. The highest package of hrc in 38 LPA which is 3rd best in DU (after LSR and SRCC )

Mirror of my college

Likes

Hansraj has hunted down some of the best facilities. All the faculties here are a celebrity in themselves as all of them have an experience
The ranking of our college is one of the best in whole country it provides us with diverse group of students across the country.
The other best thing which i liked about my college is it's maintenance. The college campus is neat and clean

Dislikes

Canteen food should be improved.

Course Curriculum Overview:

History has always excited me and therefore I took this course. Also apart from history, our course teaches us literature. Economics is also a part of our curriculum, so we get an overall development. Exams are held two times each in every single semester as that's standard practice for the colleges that come under DU. I remember our professor sayinf to us that History is the best discipline across all the courses available. It teaches us how to critically analyze know and apply so that we can provide the coming generations with what's true. It is not about what is right, but learning how to make it right.

Hansraj is du's best college

Likes

The best crowd as they are not only chilled but hard working at the same time
Overall the college is an old world charm
Most outstanding faculties as one won't find such amazing ones in any other college of du

Placement Experience:

Students are eligible for jobs in various companies and start ups . Companies like heart it out , yourdost, health care offered jobs last year . Almost 70% students were placed through campus and some went for freelancing

An Oddly-Nice Experience

The faculty is very supportive and qualified to teach quality content which is a major advantage compared to other colleges, in the north campus.
The overall ambience and environment around the college is quite competitive and always gets you going to achieve higher aspirations.
The campus is well-maintained and surely is one of the effectively managed campuses around the DU circuit.

Dislikes

The infrastructure is a little weared out in the places which were constructed over 3-4 decades back

Placement Experience:

The overall placements have seen a 2-3% increase since the last academic year and proceeds on to increase in the subsequent years. The highest package being offered in the last placement season was about 35 lakhs and the average touching about 8.5-9 lakhs p.a. I have planned to appear for the placement season and also would be appearing for CAT 2024.

Best placements, amazing faculty and wonderful infrastructure no wonder why NACC gave it A++
Our college produced individuals like Shahrukh Khan, Anurag Kashyap, Ranvijay Sangha, Kiran Rijiju, Gunjan Saxena and so on and on goes the list.

Dislikes

Placement Experience:

Placements at Hansraj are awesome as historians are in huge demand in various industries such as media and restoration companies. Many media houses hire students from our college and placement percentage has been consistent between 50 to 60 odd percentage. Average saries offered are in the range of 4 lakhs per annum for freshers.

Likes

The college infrastructure is too good. The amenities includes AC classes, canteen, library, food outlets, auditorium, etc.

Dislikes

The college administration is relatively strict.

Placement Experience:

The placements in our college is fantastic. I am a part of the placement cell and I think I will be a good fit for this answer. The Average package is around 8LPA, Highest being 23 LPA for 2024 batch. Normally more consulting roles are offered to students in Tier 1 firms.

Hansraj's Delicacy

Likes

Loved the vibes at campus and exposure I have experienced for the first time in my life.
My college is about more than 75 years old and still it has maintained its reputation by standing in top 5 colleges.
All the faculty members are very supportive and always act as a helping hand

Dislikes

I did not like some of the rules and regulations which we used to follow in schools.
As I am living in a whole different city the monthly expenses are very high
The most of the crowd is from North India and not from south as well as west.

Placement Experience:

I don't have much knowledge of the campus placements but I know about my course's placements. In my course, there are very low placements. I expect myself to do M.Sc. from IIT Delhi.But it makes you self reliant so that you can do anything on your own .

Likes

The syllabus is more detailed and descriptive which help us in depth to understand topics.
The professor in the college are extremely qualified
The surrounding location is good for hanging out.

Dislikes

The canteen food is worst even among entire north campus due to the recent tender.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The electronics course is designed extremely well. It is descriptive and in line with the syllabus of gate exams. As BSC starting this year is a 4-year program students are qualified to give a gate without doing msc.

Life in hansraj College

Likes

Library:- i like the most in my college library becose the books available in Library is good and easily available
Infrastructure:- sitting arrangement of college is good.
Faculty:- faculty always focus on every students

Dislikes

Entry gate:- they check admit card every day and also ask for hang tha admit card in neck
Ground:- opening time of ground is not good becoz it open 12.00 am
Washroom:- dirty washroom, staff not clean it daily

Course Curriculum Overview:

1. Practical and theoretical knowledge of accounting, I like accounting so I choose it. 2.our curriculum will help us in our further education like character accountant, MBA ect. 3.they can involve more practical knowledge as well as provide some task on syllabus. 4. It's good they ask as per the syllabus and also give enough time.

One of my friends graduated with a B.A Economics (H) from Hansraj last year. So, I think I can answer your question.

Here are some of the best things about the institute.

This college has an ‘old world’ feel. The infrastructure of the college is great.
The fee structure is affordable as compared to other private colleges.
It has some incredible graduates, including Shahrukh Khan, Ranvijay, and Anurag Kashyap. The list is really long.
Amazing crowd, the individuals here are both fun and hardworking at the same time. Admission is based on merit in qualifying examinations.
Some of our professors are truly amazing, you will not find such professors at other colleges, even SRCC.
There are many societies to explore like dramatics, photography society, and fine arts society, etc.
The hostel was my friend’s home for three years, and there is simply no better place to stay when studying at Hansraj. However, it doesn’t have a girls’ hostel.
North Campus has the best college location.

You will not regret choosing the institute.
