GLIM Chennai: Admission 2025, Fees, Courses, Cutoff, Ranking, Placement

The PGDM program at Great Lakes was launched in 2012 July and my friend was a part of the earliest batches. Here is a detailed analysis of the program based on some important factors

• Selection Process: Great Lakes Chennai PGDM admission is done on the basis of CAT/XAT/GMAT/CMAT/MAT scores and your profile. The score is a basis for your shortlisting and the rest depends on your profile and performance. Usually, the admission process includes a written essay and a PI round. The students are evaluated on an overall basis considering parameters like gender diversity, field diversity, and work experience.
• Program Structure: Great Lakes Chennai PGDM program has a well-established PGDM program. The program begins with an orientation program that lasts for a week. You will be introduced to your batchmates, the faculty, and the specializations offered. 
• Faculty: Great Lakes faculty comprises world-renowned professors who are highly experienced yet humble. Several courses are taught by guest faculties from top B Schools like IIMs while the permanent faculty ensure that each specialization gets to host a conference every year. Several events are conducted yearly to give students a great platform for learning as well as presenting their research.
•  Pedagogy: Every course taught at Great Lakes has a unique pedagogy that suits the course structure and the industrial needs of the program. Case studies and live projects enhance the overall learning experience preparing you to face the real corporate world.

In all, the Great Lakes PGDM program is great and the institute itself offers a vivid campus life so go for it without any second thoughts.

The reality is that only a few students got the opportunity to do HR as a major specialization in Great Lakes Chennai. Some students had success as they got reputed positions in big companies. This course requires a minimum of 15 students. The placement support for HR is comparatively low here.  If your batchmates are willing to major in HR, then the journey will be easier.

It is based on your interests. Great Lakes is a comparatively good institute that offers effective academics and the best infrastructure facilities, especially in the IT sector. But if you are interested in concentrating on other fields like HR, Finance, and so on, then opt for NMIMS, SIBM, SCMHRD, XIMB, and the New IIMS.

Most of the leading B schools are charging close to 20 lakhs for this course, so it is worth paying around 19 lakhs at Great Lakes Institute of Management as it has better placement support

Thus, it is best to select the courses Business Analytics and Operations, IT, and Economics from the Great Lakes Institute of Management. 

Students from economically backward backgrounds can also pursue courses at the leading B schools in India. They can apply for an educational loan, so they can easily secure admission to most colleges.

Institutes like Great Lakes and IMT gave more importance to the intellectual background of students. They won’t reject a candidate with high potential in the field. So, it is worth opting for an educational loan to secure admission to the aforementioned institutes
