#37 out of 125 colleges under “Management Category”

The Institute continue to grow and become the youngest institutions in India. An insight to college life

Likes

The environment of the college is good, has a good vibe.
The faculty is also helpful and has helped me in projects and other academic doubts

Dislikes

Food is not up to the standard that should have been given to us.

Internships Opportunities:

The different roles offered are Business Analyst, Data Analyst, Portfolio manager, Supply Chain and Logistics manager, Brand manager and other roles are offered. These are offered in the range of 40k-90k per month with the internship lasting for 2-3 months. The main goal of the internship is to learn what the role has to offer and to be habituated to the corporate life.

My Honest college review about GLIM chennai

Likes

I liked how clean the campus is and how helpful all the hostels staffs are. They clean room every day
The faculties are very experienced and helpful.whenever you need any help they are ready to help you
The college provides transport facilities if we want to go to the airport or come back from airport

Dislikes

I don't like the mess food because it is not consistent and inspite of telling them there is no change
Frequent power cuts takes place in the hostel during the exams which makes it difficult for students to study.
The mess staffs behave very badly as if we are asking money from them for the services they are providing us.

Internships Opportunities:

Many good companies come for internship in our college.For example JP Morgan came and gave offer to 20 students this year and all of them got the PPO.Also companies like ICICI, microsoft, MasterCard, Deloitte, Accenture,paypal also came and gave offers

Networking opportunities provided by the college
100% placement provided by the college to student
Campus life- Fest, competition, parties etc

Dislikes

Weather of the city is something which I dislike
Campus is not in the main city so we have to go far for fun
Sometimes the course feels a bit overwhelming with high pressure days

Internships Opportunities:

An internship is something that every student has to do in the end of the first year. Our college provides Internship opportunities to its students in various field and the prominent recruiters are coming in each and every field to give internships. Great recruiters like Delloite, EY visits the campus to give internship.

Likes

Learning from the lectures. Experiences from faculty coming from different fields.
Batch diversity of freshers, work-experience, different educational background brings a lot to table.
Living accomodation and amenities are excellent.

Dislikes

Institute is situated in outskirts so travelling to the city costs a lot.
Student council don't hold much power to take decisions.

Internships Opportunities:

The institute provides internship opportunities in various organisational functions. Companies visit for different roles across finance, sales, marketing, research and other areas as well. Students can apply for any of the functional area of their interest.

Likes

Campus facilities are good with great infrastructure
Great pears and crowd with nice diversity
Sports are also encouraged here with competition

Dislikes

Remote region, not near the main cities and bad connectivity
Mess food is not upto mark , only good for few days
Hot weather in Chennai can be bad for few months

Internships Opportunities:

Internship is decent but not that upto mark so think accordingly but final placement is better than internship. Few good companies come like Deloitte, Wells Fargo, ITC but rest are decent only with decent stipend.

Great life at great lakes

Likes

Gym facilities, library, classroom, playground
Hostel rooms are very spacious and beautiful
Classrooms are very spacious and all the facilities are provided

Dislikes

Mess food is terrible. The quality keeps on degrading
No options for commute is a major problem near great lakes
No swimming pool at great lakes which is a must.

Internships Opportunities:

There are great opportunities at great lakes. Companies like BNY Mellon, JP Morgan, Berger, itc. They offer around 50K-1lakhs stipend. Also big brands like paypal, Himalaya, HSBC, ICICI also recruit from the campus

Campus life is good with good crowd and have many events
Curriculum is good with helpful faculty and jf
Events like L attitude and sporting competition

Dislikes

Location is very remote not near main city
Mess food can be disappointing sometimes
Gender ratio is less with 4:1 male to female

Internships Opportunities:

Internships opportunities are good with companies like BNY, JPMC, Berger but it is decent as compared to other colleges don't expect much from summer, but final is good with average is 14 lacks and good companies coming in

College placements as students gets into good companies
Diverse background of students coming to the campus
Clubs and societies which helps students to network more

Dislikes

Mess food is good but it can get a lot better
ROI is also a point which can get better for the college
Location of the college as it is not in central chennai

Internships Opportunities:

Internship opportunities are provided to the students by the campus and all the prominent recruiters visits the campus and students get their summer internship through the campus only. At this point in time 85% of the batch is placed

Likes

Hostel facility is good with AC and other amenities.
College infrastructure is good with modern technology.
Placement is good with good mean and median package

Dislikes

Very remote are not very near to main city.
Faculty could be real strict some times .
Mess could be not very good some time, menu is not good.

Internships Opportunities:

Decent companies are here for good stipend like BNY, Delloite, TVS Credit but as market is not very good so don't expect much . But final placement is good, you won't regret being here for MBA. You will love it.

Likes

The overall experience of 2 years at great lakes is amazing
Campus life is very good here and the people are also from diverse backgrounds
The sports and recreational amenities are very good here

Dislikes

Food /mess facilities could have been better

Internships Opportunities:

I haven't done my internship yet but have got selected for deloitte. Many other good companies are coming to the campus. I am expecting my internship to be very exciting and a major learning curve for me

How can I arrange the following according to an MBA/PGDM: NMIMS, Mumbai, SBIM, Pune, IIFT, Delhi, Great Lakes, Chennai, SPJIMR, Mumbai and JBIMS, Mumbai?

I have given the preference order of the above-mentioned B Schools. However please remember this is based on my personal opinions and not any official figures

1st: NMIMS is one of the best schools in Mumbai with fewer fees and great specialization in Finance. Its distinguishing feature is its small batch size which is extremely beneficial for excellent placements. The companies that visit offer the best roles to their students mainly because of their credibility and strong alumni network.

2nd: SPJIMR too is located in Mumbai and is the second-best School after JBMINS. Its students intake is very good due to the strict selection process. The placements are at par with JBIMS but the fees are a bit higher. It's ranked in the top 3 in Operation and IT specialization in India.

3rd: One of the oldest institutes for MBA, IIFT is a good choice owing to its strong brand name and small batch size.

4th: SIBM Pune is a blend of everything; a Good campus, good corporate competition, hostel life, good infrastructure, faculty, and placement. It gives you an amazing MBA experience l.

5th: NMIMS Mumbai is great for MBA and is at par with SIBM. But I have ranked it the last owing to its high fees and larger batch size that requires a lot of competition during placements.

So the ranking is

NMIMS>SPJIMR>IIFT>SIBM Pune>NMIMS Mumbai
