The placement opportunity is good in our college because not every B.Com Honours college gives placement.
The place where it is located because you can travel by bus, metro and trains.
I like the library because it is so big and you can find any books that you need for you studies.
Dislikes
Sometimes teachers comes late in the class.
Your attendance have to be 75% otherwise you will not be able to give the exams.
The washrooms can be more clean and the common room also for girls.
Placement Experience:
Our college provide placement.
For getting placement you have to complete the full course and after getting the degree you will be eligible for campus placement.
The company that vists in our college is Deloitte, EY, KPMG and PwC and many other company.
The highest package is approx 5 lpa and average package is 2.5 lpa.
The rare of placement is approximate 65 %.
My plan after getting the degree is to look for a placement and then study for MBA .
I see scopes in future in this course. Faculty and student ratio is good. All the Teachers have more exprience. Almost everyone is PHD passed out. Term exams are tough in this college.
The coordination received by the teachers and the seniors
The quality of students existing int he college , the college has a good atmosphere both socially and officially.
Placement Experience:
The placement depends upon the qualification upon the students . It totally and solely dependent upon how the candidate present themselves in the interview . Last year big 4 had a placement drive in the college and the average package offered ranged between 5 lakh to 8 lakh p.a.
It is a budget friendly college and good for ca cma students.
Dislikes
The reservation of SC ST and OBC as worthy students don't get admission and cut off goes high
The campus area is very small and there is no canteen
The locality is not good and has cheap crowd
Placement Experience:
Final-year students can avail of campus placement. Companies like Deloitte and Tata offer jobs. The highest package goes upto 500000 per annum and the average package is 200000 per annum. The percentage of students getting placements is 35%. I am pursuing Chartered Accountancy as well so that is my plan after getting the degree.
The college atmosphere is good. The college has made all necessary arrangements for the students.
The student grievances are handled in a very friendly manner
The faculties are very friendly and clear all doubts in a very good way.
Dislikes
The cleanliness of the college can be looked at.
Some infrastructural issues must be resolved.
More faculties can be recruited to the college.
Course Curriculum Overview:
I chose B.Com(Hons)to get an understanding of the different aspects of accounting, taxation, and finance.
The student-faculty ratio is approximately 1:25.
The faculties are highly qualified and have a decent style of teaching making the students learn all the concepts easily.
Fees is the bestest part I've got in this college.
Dislikes
No campus life is expected here. Not a single possibility
Course Curriculum Overview:
Faculties are good.(if you're a Bengali you'll love them). Most of them speak Bengali only so sometimes it is difficult to understand but although it's perfectly fine to go to college . There are only semester exams and internal exams.
Faculty members and staffs of the college, they are helpful.
Library has quite a good stock of books for the students.
The environment of the college is quite good for studies.
Dislikes
There is no social life in the college .
There is no college canteen for the students.
The classes doesn't have air conditioner.
Placement Experience:
In recent times the number of placements are quite less. Deloitte, standard chartered came in our college during placements. Most of the students in our college prepare for professional degrees, so the percentage of students sitting for job interviews are quite less.
Library of the college is excellent and you can borrow books for full semester from there only without any charges.
Teacher's are very helpful and co operative.
Dislikes
Placement cell need to improve to provide at least 40% placement to students.
Administrative department is not cooperative.
Placement Experience:
Intership opportunities are available from the third semester. Campus placements happen in the fifth and sixth semesters. Very few companies visit for campus placements and around 20 students only get placed.
The reason for low campus placement is also that students after B.Com want to pursue other professional courses like CA, CS, CMA or MCOM.
The college maintains a stringent Anti-Ragging Policy. Upon admission, all students are required to submit an Anti-Ragging form. Any violation of this rule will result in severe actions being taken against the student.
The college environment promotes a friendly demeanor among both seniors and peers.
The college boasts expansive infrastructure with multiple rooms and even includes the convenience of an elevator.
Dislikes
Having visited numerous colleges in Kolkata, I've observed that the concept of a campus is not well-defined among these institutions.
Goenka College once had a canteen, but due to the pandemic, it was temporarily closed and remains unavailable till the present.
Course Curriculum Overview:
Admissions were granted based on the results of the 12th grade. The morning session had a higher cutoff (94% for general category) compared to the day session (92% for general category). The college website hosted the application form. The institution offered seat reservations for ST/SC, OBC, and PwD categories.
I liked the availability of books from college library that too without any library charges.
They do not even charge penalty or fine if not returned the books without the mentioned time period.
The teaching facilities are really helpful and supportive.
Placement Experience:
From the fifth semester the students appear for interviews for campus recruitment or placement. The average package is about 600000/- per annum. Companies like TCS and other organisations provide placements in our college. However I haven't appeared for interviews yet as the fifth semester has just begun.
