How does a student spend a day in RNSIT Bangalore?

BandwidthBadger

If you're part of the CS or IT departments, things are pretty chill. The staff is supportive, and attendance isn't strictly enforced. These are probably the top departments based on what I know.

On the other hand, if you're in EEE or ISE, you might just be counting down the days until graduation. It can get tough, especially if you end up with backlogs, which is possible if you're not good at sweet-talking or are too straightforward.

Departments like ECE and Mechanical are somewhere in between. I used to feel a bit jealous of my friends in CSE and IT. I graduated from EEE in 2015.

What are the disadvantages of RNSIT?

ShadowSpinner

Another downside of studying at RNSIT is the limited extracurricular activities and events. While there are a few major fests like Pantheon and Parichay, the frequency and quality of these events often leave much to be desired. Many students feel that there should be more opportunities for cultural engagement and technical events to enhance our college experience.

The campus life can feel a bit dull at times due to the lack of vibrant activities and events throughout the year.

What do you find most irritating about RNSIT?

RetroRevenant

The most annoying thing? Honestly, there are a lot of things that bug me about the college, but I'll share them all here.

First off, there's no sports complex. Seriously, most colleges have one, and some even have two or three! We've just got this tiny sports room that's almost always locked.

Then, there's no amphitheater, and we don't even have an auditorium.

The budget for our fests is pretty low. With better funding, they could be way more organized. It's something every student deserves.

As for clubs, we barely have 3 to 5, and only about 1 or 2 are active for a couple of months each year. It would be nice to have more interesting clubs. Club interviews and projects would make college life much more fun and memorable.

They keep taking away phones, but why not have mobile lockers in every classroom? I mean, I'm not saying I'd use them since my phone is my only entertainment during some classes, but for those who would use them, why not have lockers?

Teachers could also go beyond just the 5 or 6 units in the VTU syllabus and teach some extra valuable stuff. Not all students would appreciate it, but those who are interested would benefit.

Lastly, they should stop opening schools, preschools, and PU colleges on the campus. It just ruins the vibe.

So, those are my gripes. I hope someone is paying attention.

Is RNSIT good?

ErrorElegant

I feel RNSIT is a good college for pursuing a Bachelor of Engineering in Cyber Security. The curriculum is relevant and prepares us for real-world applications. The faculty are supportive and approachable, which makes learning easier. The placement opportunities are decent, with many companies visiting, and the highest package was around 56 LPA. However, the campus life could use more events and activities to engage students. Overall, I think it's a good option for those looking to enter the cyber security field.

How is Rns institute of technology Bangalore?

IvoryIntuition

RNS Institute of Technology in Bangalore is generally considered a bit below average among Indian colleges. Some of my friends who went there, even those with really good grades, ended up with job offers around 3.5 to 4 lakhs per year. This is mainly because there aren't many companies visiting the campus for recruitment. Companies like Bosch, Aricent, TCS, Infosys, Accenture, and Thoughtworks do hire for the CSE department. If you're looking for better opportunities, you might want to check out autonomous colleges in Bangalore.

What is your review of RNS Institute of Technology RNSIT?

EmeraldExpanse

My time at RNSIT for the Bachelor of Engineering (Cyber Security) course has been quite mixed. While I appreciate the curriculum's relevance to current trends, the internal exam frequency feels overwhelming. We have three internals each month, which can be quite hectic.

Placement opportunities seem promising, with many companies like Infosys and Adobe visiting for recruitment. However, the highest package is around 55 lakh, but I think the average is lower. Overall, the college environment is supportive, but I feel there could be more focus on practical learning.

How are placements at RNSIT Bangalore? IS it worth joining?

CrimsonCzar

Placements at RNSIT Bangalore are generally quite good. If you have over 70%, you're likely to secure a job with at least one company, though it might not be in your core field. Even students with 65% have plenty of opportunities, as many large companies look for candidates with that percentage. Some companies even consider candidates with 60%. So, having more than 65% gives you a great chance of landing a job.

Typically, about 500-600 students out of 800 get placed each year. Only a few companies offering core jobs and high salaries visit, around 3-4. About 20 companies come to the campus, and another 20 invite students to pool campuses. The average salary package is around 3.5 lakh.

Which is better, RNSIT or MVJ College of Engineering?

Sapna Malik
Aditi BanerjeeLives in Bangalore

My sister chose RNSIT for her B.Tech degree. According to her, there are several factors one needs to consider while choosing one’s college.

One of them is the distance of the college from one’s home (or place of stay). Choosing a college near one’s place of stay buys a lot of time which one can then use to pursue one’s studies/interests. Moreover, one feels much more relaxed because the travel time is reduced to such a great extent.

Barring Civil and Mechanical, all the other departments witness good placements at RNSIT. The faculties of RNSIT are supportive as well.

Thus, you can consider choosing RNSIT over MVJCE Bangalore, given that the option suits your personal preferences.
