The most annoying thing? Honestly, there are a lot of things that bug me about the college, but I'll share them all here.

First off, there's no sports complex. Seriously, most colleges have one, and some even have two or three! We've just got this tiny sports room that's almost always locked.

Then, there's no amphitheater, and we don't even have an auditorium.

The budget for our fests is pretty low. With better funding, they could be way more organized. It's something every student deserves.

As for clubs, we barely have 3 to 5, and only about 1 or 2 are active for a couple of months each year. It would be nice to have more interesting clubs. Club interviews and projects would make college life much more fun and memorable.

They keep taking away phones, but why not have mobile lockers in every classroom? I mean, I'm not saying I'd use them since my phone is my only entertainment during some classes, but for those who would use them, why not have lockers?

Teachers could also go beyond just the 5 or 6 units in the VTU syllabus and teach some extra valuable stuff. Not all students would appreciate it, but those who are interested would benefit.

Lastly, they should stop opening schools, preschools, and PU colleges on the campus. It just ruins the vibe.

So, those are my gripes. I hope someone is paying attention.

I'm really glad you brought this up! Let me see if I can recall all my experiences from 2009 to 2013.

Principal Venkatesha: This guy is something else. He has this constant divine music playing in his office and on his phone all the time. I mean, who thought it was a great idea to walk into an exam hall with music blaring and disrupt everyone? He's like the perfect example of an educated fool.

Director Shivashankar: If he spots you outside during class hours, expect to be dragged into his office for a solo lecture on whatever class you're missing. He'll also ask about your aggregate percentage and CET rank. If you have a good CET rank but poor aggregate, brace yourself for another talk on how you need to boost the college's rankings.

Mobile squad: Sometimes, when the college needs funds for events and doesn't want to dip into their budget, they create these mobile squads. It's basically lab assistants, bus drivers, and other staff who search for and confiscate phones, then charge you a fine to get them back. The money collected is used for student events. What a plan!

Playing on the ground: So, they say you can't play on the field because the grass needs to grow. Really? Why have a field if students can't use it?

Marking 'X' on lab computers: In our ECE labs, if the computer works with the development kits, students can use it. If not, they mark it with an 'X' and it's off-limits. Honestly, it’s a strange way to teach future engineers. Eventually, the mark fades and some unlucky student wastes time trying to use it.

Lecturers reading from presentations: Until the 5th semester, we had no projector, so lecturers had to actually teach. But once we moved to a room with a projector, they just read from slides. Professors doing research in one area were teaching completely different subjects, and trust me, they weren’t good at it.

Projects only in final semesters: If you're into learning through projects and tech events, this college isn’t for you. Their aim is to crank out graduates with high ranks to boost their reputation and fees. I was often told to focus on studies and leave projects for the final semester.

Humiliating students: If you don’t suck up to certain lecturers, they'll embarrass you in labs and classes whenever they can.

P.U college inside engineering campus: They went too far with this. Before I graduated, they even had plans for primary and middle schools on campus.

Shoddy uniform: We had uniforms for labs, and they looked just like what workers at R.N.S service stations wore. Once, a policeman even mistook me for a mechanic! While mechanical students wearing uniforms makes sense due to safety, it’s pointless for EC and CS students.

Route #1 bus: This bus was the worst. It was ancient and kept breaking down. Sometimes, it couldn’t handle a slight hill with students inside, so we had to get out and push it. It was late most of the time, and when we complained, the driver would show up way too early the next day so everyone missed it.

The know-it-all attitude of some...

Hey there, I found this question quite intriguing, so I thought I'd jump in and share my thoughts. Here we go.

Before I start listing out the annoying stuff, let me mention a couple of positives. And yeah, I'm staying anonymous to keep myself out of trouble. So, let’s dive in.

1. The food
Our canteen is amazing! Seriously, everything from the coffee to the snacks tastes fantastic! Even the chips somehow taste better when you get them here.

2. Placements
Our college has a reputation for good placements, but I have my doubts. Our placement officer, SNS sir, left due to some internal issues, which I’ll talk about later. The new person isn't doing a great job, honestly.

Alright, that's about all the nice things I can say. Now, let's get to the real talk.

Our principal is quite a character. He spends his time playing badminton, shining his head, and then heading home. Not to forget, he likes to mess with the placement officer, acting all mighty.

The faculty here, oh boy, they are just next-level, right? They should be taken to the Delhi zoo, distract the tiger with a lecturer, save the kid, and then throw in all the lecturers one by one, just for fun.

As for our cricket ground, it's not even a proper ground. It’s poorly maintained, and during college hours, we can't even use it.

Now, the EC department—there’s a lot to say! We have this teacher, we call her annabond. She claims to have studied at SRM and taught at Anna University, but I have my doubts. If she did, there's a reason she's here now. Just looking at her, you can tell she isn't very sociable. She even says in class that she doesn't like or trust overweight people. And that's just the start! She has no filter and lacks knowledge. Without her notes, she's lost. I wonder where they found her, maybe swimming in the Kaveri river?

Why so strict about attendance? Why not let students manage their time and learning themselves? The whole idea of threatening students with marks and attendance is crazy!

If God was passing by and wanted to leave a mess, he'd probably stop at our college, think "how much worse could this place get?" and move on. It wouldn’t take much to make the entrance look nice, just a bit of effort.

Well, that's the situation. I guess we just have to live with it. I'm done with my rant for now! If anyone wants to hear more, just let me know. But for now, I’m signing off. To those who joined thinking this place is amazing, better luck next time!

What really irritates me about RNSIT is the frequent exams we have in the Information Science and Engineering course. The internal assessments are conducted every month, and it feels overwhelming, especially with back-to-back subjects. The pressure to perform well in each internal and then prepare for the semester-end exams is quite intense. I believe they could have spaced them out better or reduced the number of internals.

Honestly, one of the most irritating things about RNSIT for me is the outdated curriculum, especially in the Computer Science and Engineering course. We still follow the old syllabus from VTU, and it feels like we’re not being prepared for the current job market. There are many irrelevant subjects that don’t really help us in our careers. Plus, the exams are frequent, with three internals and one external each semester, which adds a lot of pressure. I just wish they would update the curriculum to include more relevant topics and technologies.
