Government College of Engineering (GCE), Keonjhar, Orissa, formerly known as Orissa School of Mining Engineering, is affiliated to Biju Patnaik University of Technology, Rourkela. The college was originally established in the year 1956 as a diploma institute and degree streams were added only in 1995.
GCE Keonjhar currently offers B. Tech programs in 7 specializations. The total annual intake of this college is 420 seats which are segregated branch-wise.
- 10+2 in Science stream with minimum 45% marks is required to be eligible for B. Tech programs.
- Odisha Joint Entrance Examination (OJEE) 2023 qualified candidates are eligible for counselling and admission.Candidates are selected on the basis of marks scored in OJEE 2023.
- They are allotted seats and courses based on the marks/ rank scored in OJEE.
- NRI candidates are eligible for direct admission.
GCE Keonjhar B.Tech Admission 2023
Government College of Engineering, Kendujhar, offers B. Tech programs in 5 disciplines. The minimum eligibility criteria are 45% marks in 10+2 in Science stream with Physics and Mathematics as the compulsory subjects and any of the following additional subjects – Chemistry, Biology, Biotechnology, Electronics, C.S., Statistics, Geology or any technical vocational subject.
Selection of candidates is done on the basis of marks/ rank secured by the applicant inJee Main. For layeral Entry, admissions are done on the basis of OJEE, which is followed by a counselling session conducted on a state level. A final merit list of the candidates is declared after counselling. Candidates can apply for his/her desired course by submitting the application form online through the OJEE website.

Key points regarding admission:
- Provision for Lateral entry in B. Tech. third semester (second year) for Engineering Diploma holders or B.Sc. Graduates with Mathematics as one of the subject at XII standard.
- The minimum qualifying percentile of marks in 10+2 for reserved category candidates is 40%.
- Allotment of the seat will depend upon the availability of the seats on the day of counseling.

GCE Keonjhar Application Process
Candidates can apply for OJEE only through ‘online’ mode. The application form and information brochure can be downloaded from OJEE website. Candidates must fill the application form accordingly. Scanned copies of passport size photograph, signature and thumb impression are required at the time of filling the application form.
Payment of application fee can be made online via debit/credit card or internet banking and offline through e-Challan or deposit in OJEE bank account (SBI Collect).
The following documents must be retained for future references:
- Printouts of the computer-generated confirmation Page of the Application Form
- Proof of fee payment
Candidates must furnish only correct and authentic details while filling the application form. Upon successful submission of the form, a unique Registration Number is generated. Candidates are allowed to submit only one application form. Multiple applications for a particular stream or in multiple streams of a candidate are liable to be rejected.

- Original certificate of Ex-Serviceman from Rajya Sainik Board if applicable
- Original Certificate in support of Outlying Odia Speaking Tract (OL) category if applicable
- Medical Certificate for PC Candidates if applicable
- Qualifying Examination Pass Certificate from Odisha.
- Women candidates must also submit the Resident/Nativity Certificate from concerned Revenue Officer not below than Tahsildar if applying for reservation

- College is situated far from main town between hills providing a better environment for students to study and far from urban indisciplines like vehicle sound.Vwry calm place and having a good greenery scenery all around.

You will eligible by appearing JEE main or ojee.you can find the application form from college website.There is reservation for ST,sc,TFW and so on. Exam is done after 5 months. Admission is done smoothly.

- I like the college enveirnment. There is mountain near college that is look beautiful at sunset time.

- Placement are not good in our branch. There is no good placement come here.
- There is few permanent faculty. Every branch having 2 or 3 permanent faculty other facultys are temporary here.

Applicant must meets specific eligibility criteria, usually based on academic performance in high school or equivalent examinations. It include minimum grade of physics, mathematics and chemistry. The application form available on college website or it can be obtained college admission office. Government college of engineering have the reservation policies for different catagorie of applicant like sc,st, obc, ews . Government college conduct entrance exam for their admission like jee and ojee.

- Campus life is zero and exhaustive and need to be improved

Admission through jee mains rank. And cut off cse is around 1.5 lakh for general. The admission process is through ojee counselling and seat alloted in rounds. You have to submit some security fees to freeze your seat.
