The Honest Review about GCELT.

Likes

things that i like the most is the college environment is very peaceful and calm. It's suitable for students.
The professors and faculties are very friendly.
There is no ragging system. Seniors are very friendly and humble.

Dislikes

I mostly dislike the fact that our mechanical workshop is not very well in condition.
There is no lab assistant so the machines in lab are not properly maintained.
The tools and machines are not usable for student.

there are many opportunities for hand on practice ,projects or real world applications of the concept taught.The curriculum cover all the essential topics and skills required for the subject. The textbooks and other study materials from library are up to date.

Likes

The faculty is great and helpful where we can easily communicate with the teachers.
The college provides great atmosphere for students who wants to study abroad i.e. students who opts for giving competitive exams like GATE etc.
The college has a very big playground where students can play and chill with their friends

Placement Experience:

The college offers great placement opportunities with average package of 5.5LPA for students pursing CSE or IT. And 7.5LPA for students pursuing LT. The college has a highest package of 11LPA. It also offers great opportunities for internship to the students.

In our college All faculty members are very careful and helpful.
Our college location plays vital role for students.
seniors are very helpful. They help us in curriculum activities.

Dislikes

As it is a government college it does not provide us good placement or internship opportunity.
our college is not so moderate. So our lab facility is not so good.

Placement Experience:

As our college is tier 3 college It does not provide very good placement. After 3rd year anyone is eligible for placement. calcutta based companies come and provides average of 100000/annum. 30-40% students are placed. After getting degree I want to give gate exam to do mtech.

The truth about government colleges in West Bengal

Likes

One will hardly have the energy to visit college regularly so the only thing that i liked is the location of the college
Also a few faculty members who have now become a part of my family

Dislikes

The placement cell is absolutely trash as they neither provide internships nor job opportunities
Most other faculty members don't interact much for which the subject doesn't become interesting enough
The social life in college is not worth it as there are no tech clubs sports ground tournaments

Course Curriculum Overview:

Not a very good college to be honest. The faculty members are below average and there is very less placement opportunity. One has to grind on their own in order to get placed Offcampus. There is very little help from the faculty as well as from the seniors.

Likes

Faculties are very helpful. They always inspire and motivate you.
Senior and alumnis are also helpful. In academic and non-academic both cases they help you.
Study pressure is less. You can opted for different options

Dislikes

Classes are not regular. As students are not regular, classes are irregular.
Some teachers are very boring. In their subjects they are fail to create the interest in the subject
As study pressure is less, many students became irregular in study

Affordable education with good Return on investment
Big and beautiful campus with lots of amenities and a very good library
Good faculties and seniors to guide students

Dislikes

Less courses and lower student headcount
Emphasis on practical learning is less in coursework

Students become eligible from the 6th semester to sit for placements. We had companies like NRI fintech, Hexaware, Cognizant, Tech Mahindra, Kreeti Technology, and more with 80+ total offers made. The highest package was 7lpa and the average package was 4.5lpa. About 80% of the students who opted for placements were placed.

From 6th sem students are able for placements and internships. There are many companies visit in our college like wipro,TCS,cognizant,Infosys,etc. Around 75% of students got placement from CSE &IT. I heard that The high package was 12lakh in the previous year and the lowest was 3.6lakh. The average package is around 3.6-5lakhs per annum.
