A peak in the life of a University student.

Likes

Ferguson college is a prestigious institution and being a part of it for my graduation was a honour. I love the teaching faculty for English literature. That are all very experienced and knowledgeable. They are also extremely approachable.
The college campus is very serene. As you enter the college through the gigantic gates, you experience and different world as compared to the husle bustle of Pune. The greenary and the magnificent architect of the building might leave you in awe.
The college has all the facilities that are necessary for students from library to girls recreation hall. From a ground to walking tracks. From computer labs and canteens and from basketball court to tennis court. You have it all here.

Dislikes

The stray dogs sometimes can be a hazard for students but most of those are friendly too.
Most of the population in Pune prefer Marathi for communication which is also seen inside the college premises and that might be a bit problematic sometimes
The presence of politically lead organisation can be bit of a problem when you don't really wanna be a part of it.

Course Curriculum Overview:

For English literature course, the syllabus is quite comprehensive. It is divided into three fiction, drama and poetry. Fir fiction and drama the history part is very good and interesting but for poetry we have a lot of poems and not the history part.

Likes

Comfortable and sophisticated environment to study and learn new skills
Competitive activities and skill based programs
Excellent infrastructure and professional teaching

Dislikes

I think some more facilities like swimming pool in the college can be done
Many a times faculties are unavailable for lectures and doubts
Less incentives and financial support for sportsperson

Course Curriculum Overview:

The syllabus and curriculum of my course that is B.A. Economics is very wide and helpful at the same time. It includes many of the important aspects in my chosen subject which also helps me in dealing with other competitive exams that I aspire to give. Overall course designing seems helpful and effective for me which made me choose this course.

BA Psychology at Fergusson

The campus. It's so huge and beautiful and I love the fact that the college authorities take utmost care in maintaining the campus as it is from the period of Britishers. The Bai jerabai wadia library is one of the epic libraries of India.
The faculty is well trained and as of course, the teachers are very dedicated towards teaching their subjects. Proper guidance is given and every student is given equal attention. Teachers provide notes and reference material that are very apt.
The curriculum is very apt and I can surely say it covers all the important topics that are to be learnt by a psychology student. Mentors are always there to guide and provide assistance ans internships from almost all walks of life.

Dislikes

There're not many things that I disliked about my college.The fests aren't that great and huge as other colleges have.It is very lowkey and many people opt to sit home than attending any fests.No concert happens and no celebrity is invited to perform
The faculty for other courses is not that great. For eg. The faculty for sociology, the teachers don't teach properly and also aren't able to communicate properly with the students.

Placement Experience:

Placement rate is not that good, as for my course, you need to complete your masters in order for you to get a job somewhere. So it's the college's fault here it's the course which has different requirements. After graduating, in order for you to become a Psychologist you've to complete your masters too. But as of job opportunities after graduation, you can work as an intern or an assistant in some firm or hospital. My plans after graduation are to pursue masters and then get a licence so I could become a Psychologist, then I'll wither work in a firm or hospital or start my own clinic.

Likes

College campus is very beautiful nad productive for the social development of the students.
Teachers are very good it's like friends and family they try there best for the students.
Syallabus is very good it's are fature oriented syallabus.

Dislikes

Nothing to dislike in college. Overall college is good
One thing to mention that it's a religious pollarised college in some aspects.

Course Curriculum Overview:

This course is for economic. Economics is everyday life subject. And every person need to understand it. And college provide very good stuff for it. Yes Economics is subject that very impyin 21st century. And syallabus is very relevant for this. Nothing to suggest. Difficulty level is not so much high but it's very good for students.

There is Language difference in campus it make Barrier in learning
English medium students fell suppiorer than Marathi medium

There is no placement for under graduate level placement is available for post graduation leve .bove 8.5 CGPA students able apply placement My plane after getting my degree is do post graduation in MA economics

Campus is the best thing of this college
Fc having gret college life. With greenery all over with huge campus.

College campus, gest lecturs on various topics
Teaching methods and our course syllabus because it is specifically designed which help us to give MA Enterenc exam for various college
College atmosphere suitable for student even though they are from other state

Dislikes

There is english medium and marathi medium it cause that some student form english medium feel that they are more knowledgeable than marathi medium
On days of holiday or sunday girls washroom is closed even the library is open because of this girls face alots of problems
When we have lecture with english medium student our professor assume that there is only english speakers and teach in only english

I choose BA economic because since I am in 12th std I improve interest in economic so it intended me to choose this course This curriculum prepares me excellent for real world I become able to compare economic theories to real world promlem We have internal and external exam for every semister

Fergusson college education is fully designed and provides best education and students don't need to do special study as MPSC and UPSC education is also getting integrated. Also the exam was very disciplined. There is a lot of scope for study. The teaching staff helps the students so there is no problem.
