What students say about La Trobe University

Likes

  • College does not meet their ranking standards, and most of the classes were taught by junior lecturers who were my seniors.
  • I have not yet participated in my universitys work placement subject, but the experience so far has been smooth with the paperwork and the setup of the work placements, as there have been two seminars held just for preparation.
  • This is generally applicable to all universities offering an MS program. The research conducted is top-notch and funded by the government.
  • The campus was well-built, and most of the time, there were some events going on, and students were highly encouraged to take part in them.
  • This is good because all I need to pay for is public transport to be able to get to and from uni.
  • There were a lot of fees when it comes to the university, and they keep coming. However, because you can put the course fees on HECS, it helps us to study first and then pay later when we get a job.
  • The faculty is really helpful, and most are there to guide you as best as they are able to.
  • I had some friends in Latrobe. Additionally, Latrobe is considered one of the top universities in Australia.

Dislike

  • It was so hard to get any; no universities will offer any placements. All we have to do is search and apply.
  • Moreover, the job market in Australia is very critical, and it is really hard to find a professional job

My overall experience was not at all fascinating. There is no support from university related to placements. Most of the classes were conducted online with poor quality. Australian job market is really worst to find professional job after graduation. You need to have at least 3-4years of job experience before commencing masters in order to survive in Australia.

I had some friends in Latrobe, also Latrobe is a good university in Australia as it is one of the tops. I myself wanted to pursue my studies at a good university that could help me explore things that I had not explored before. Plus its main branch is in Melbourne where the cost of living is lower than in Sydney. These are the reasons to choose Latrobe University.

I am very passionate about studying Human Resources. I spent significant amount time to research the courses and subjects designed by the universities. I was impressed with the range of topics covered in Human Resource in my current program at La Trobe University. I preferred La Trobe over the other Universities specifically because of the course, Master of Management - Human Resource Management.

Because they have the specific course I wanted to do in a double degree. I also loved the large open campus and how there are interesting things to do there that are unrelated to study such as a wildlife sanctuary.

Because it was the only university that had the specific course I wanted to do, I was looking around but no other university offered a course like this and also because this university is big.

La Trobe University offers the variety of courses I wanted, it is also relatively close to my home town which is around about 3 hours away, meaning I can still keep in contact with my family and catch up with them on weekends.

The only university which offered a pathway to veterinary medicine without requiring a high enter score. It also provides pathways into animal conservation, animal research or zoology. Plus the La Trobe Melbourne campus has great up to date science facilities.
