What is the MHT CET 2026 Provisional Merit List?

The MHT CET 2026 Provisional Merit List is a ranked list of eligible students prepared by CET Cell Maharashtra for BE/BTech admissions across engineering colleges in the state. Your rank is derived from your MHT CET 2026 percentile score, Class 12 HSC marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics, and your applicable category and reservation status.

The list is called provisional because it remains open to corrections through the three-day grievance process. Once all valid objections are resolved, CET Cell publishes the Final Merit List. Any error left uncorrected in the provisional list carries over to the final list and directly affects your chances during CAP Round 1, Round 2, and Round 3 seat allotment.

How to Raise Objection Against MHT CET 2026 Provisional Merit List

Follow these steps to submit your grievance between July 16 and July 18, 2026:

1. Visit the official portal at cetcell.mahacet.org and click the CAP 2026–27 link on the homepage.
2. Log in using your Application ID and password — the same credentials used during MHT CET 2026 registration.
3. Open the Grievance / Objection section within your student dashboard.
4. Select the type of discrepancy you want to report — wrong HSC marks, incorrect percentile, wrong category, or another error.
5. Fill out the objection form with a brief, factual description of the error and the correct data.

Common Grounds for Raising an Objection

You can raise an objection only for verifiable factual errors in your merit list entry. Valid grounds include:

• Incorrect HSC marks — Physics, Chemistry, or Mathematics marks in the merit list do not match your official Class 12 marksheet.
• Wrong MHT CET 2026 percentile — The percentile displayed does not match your official MHT CET scorecard.
• Incorrect category or subcategory — Your caste category, EWS status, or PwD status is wrongly listed.
• Wrong home university or domicile — The linked university or district is different from your documents.
• Missing reservation benefit — An approved reservation such as NRI, defence, PH, or minority quota is not reflected in the merit calculation.

What Happens After You Submit an Objection?

Once the grievance window closes on July 18, CET Cell’s scrutiny committee reviews every submitted objection alongside the uploaded supporting documents. Valid objections with correct proofs are accepted and the student’s rank, category, or marks are updated; objections without sufficient documentation are rejected.

1. The scrutiny committee reviews each objection and compares the uploaded documents against the registered data.
2. Accepted objections result in a corrected rank or updated detail in the system.
3. The Final MHT CET 2026 Merit List is published after all grievances are resolved.
4. Your Final Merit List rank is then used for CAP Round 1, Round 2, and Round 3 seat allotment.
