Understanding Freeze, Float and Slide in BITSAT 2026

When accepting a BITSAT 2026 seat, you must select one of three options. All three require full fee payment upfront. Your choice determines whether you remain eligible for future iterations.

Option What It Means Best For
Freeze Accept current allotment as final. Opt out of all future iterations. Students satisfied with their allotted campus and programme.
Float Accept current seat and participate in Iteration 2 for a higher preference across campuses or programmes. If a better option is available, it replaces the current seat; otherwise the current seat is retained. Students who want to try for a higher preference but are comfortable keeping the current allotment if no upgrade comes.
Slide Accept current campus and seek a programme upgrade within the same campus in Iteration 2. Campus will not change even if a higher-ranked programme at another campus is available. Students who prefer their allotted campus but want a better programme there.

Choosing Float or Slide keeps you in Iteration 2 automatically. Once you select Float or Slide and pay the fee, you cannot opt out of that iteration’s allotment result.
