How BITS Seat Allotment Works

BITS Pilani uses an iteration-based allotment system, not a centralised counselling process like JoSAA. Key points for BITSAT 2026:

• Four to five iterations are conducted; the First Iteration result is expected on July 17, 2026.
• No category reservation — seats are filled purely on BITSAT score regardless of category.
• You must accept your allotted seat and pay the fee online within the deadline to confirm your admission.
• In later iterations you can upgrade to a higher preference programme or campus if seats become available.
• A small International Students (IS) quota is filled separately from the general merit list.
• BITS offers a Fee Waiver Scholarship based on merit and family income — this is financial support, not reserved seats.

Students admitted to a B.E. programme can later opt for a B.E. + M.Sc. dual degree from the second semester onward, subject to academic performance. This is a popular route at all three campuses.
