Dr. Bishnupriya Mishra is the Director of Panchanana Jena College of Management and Technology. She holds a B.Com. (Hons), M.Com., M.Phil., PhD, and D.Litt. degrees from Utkal University, Bhubaneswar. Furthermore, she also holds a PGDM degree from IGNOU. With over 38 years of experience in teaching, she has been guiding and motivating students to achieve their dreams. Prof. Mishra has previously served as the Principal of Krupajal Engineering College, a professor at the Regional College of Management, and a visiting professor at Utkal University, Sambalpur University, ICFAI, and Sri Sri University.

Dr. Mishtra has published 50+ research articles and seven books in her research area. Besides her regular duties, she has had nine PhD and two D. Litt degrees awarded under her guidance.

Being the Director of the college, what is your philosophy of leadership?

Collaboration, continuous improvement, ethical conduct, community involvement, adaptability, and innovation are at the heart of my leadership philosophy. By typifying these standards, I mean to create a lively and groundbreaking instructional experience for all individuals from the school's local area. I perceive the significance of having a reasonable vision for the school's future and fostering a masterful course of action to accomplish it.


How would you describe your leadership style?

Stakeholders should be involved in decision-making processes. I effectively look for information and criticism from personnel, staff, understudies, and different individuals from the school's local area. I respect assorted points of view and support dynamic cooperation in moulding the course and approaches of the school. I want to foster a sense of ownership and collective responsibility among all by fostering open communication and collaborative decision-making.


What are your roles and responsibilities towards the students?

Our staff is multitasking and multifunctional, ensuring that our students receive the most relevant knowledge and information. By giving students a variety of chances to show off their abilities and talent, we maintain a holistic development strategy. With the best of intentions, students are encouraged to learn and develop, which assists them in leading peaceful and successful lives. Our experienced educators, strategy, and technology address students' unique needs and circumstances holistically.


How does the curriculum of your university ensure the best practice of industry?

We always try to bridge the knowledge gap between theory and application. We address a fine mix of useful information and mock sessions that assist with preparing understudies for the modern world. Through professional networking, I ensure constant learning and have a strong desire to improve my skills to keep up with the latest trends. As an educator, I have trained government and private sector employees in my area of expertise and use that knowledge in my classes. To keep up with the constantly shifting trends in the market, this industry needs to be constantly trained. This can only be accomplished through ongoing education and professional networking with all stakeholders, particularly corporations, government agencies, and alumni.


What valuable advice would you like to give the students?

Be in charge of your own learning journey. Participate actively in class discussions, ask questions, and seek clarification when necessary. Exploit assets, like libraries, online stages, and instructional devices, to enhance your learning. Create efficient study routines that suit you best. Find a review climate that permits you to concentrate and limits interruptions.
