- There are decent amount of food options but not a lot as compared to other big universities.

- The campus is little bit small as compared to other universities.
- Through whatsapp or facebook groups, I was able to connect with like minded people who were looking for accommodation.
- People can also look on websites like apartments.com or zillow to find the best suited apartment for them.
- The average rent for entire 2bhk apartment will be 1300-1400 usd

- Tuition fees is quite high
- Parking is expensive
- I found accommodation through my college social media groups like whatsapp, telegram, instagram, facebook
- My monthly rent is $1500 which was shared by 4 people. So it would be $320 per person excluding WiFi and electricity which costs around $50
- Challenges like calculating the distance from my house to university was big difficult as I’m new to this state
- My recommendation would be search for instagram or telegram accounts of the university international students
- My accommodation was 3 miles from my university or 8kms from my university

- The best thing about my college is Diversity and Inclusion, no racism at all.
- The professors are helping and provide guidance whenever you need them.
- There are options for online classes, so some of the lectures are online which helps in the last 2 semesters, when we are looking for full-time positions,
Dislikes
- No direct Recruitment from industries, although we have career fairs.
- Some of the master's programs lack the quality and reputation expected of students.
- Do not expect any funding like scholarships directly from the college, although there are GA positions but only in some programs, which is only partial tuition remission.
- I live off-campus, as most graduate students do because it’s more affordable and a great way to connect with other graduates.
- My monthly rent is around $400-450. There are plenty of housing options, but the better ones are farther from campus. Nearby housing often has issues with pests and rodents. And also it's difficult to find accommodation nearby.
- There are some Indian groups on Facebook called EKTA for housing updates at UMBC. And also WhatsApp group but it is available only after admission.

- Costs less than average, including living cost
- Very good research opportunities in the University
- Lot of Indian crowd in masters program Very good Indian association which is helpful during house search. Well segregated groups to buy / sell used items for lesser price from other students, groups to search houses, groups to book rides etc.
Dislikes
- Remote area
- Small campus and hence competitive on-campus jobs
- Not many technical clubs (that I know of) for masters students to collaborate
- I opted for off campus housing as we have control over the expenses for wifi and electricity. We can share a room with another roommate that reduces rent per head.
- Monthly rent - 300$ included dishwasher, laundry, stove, oven (not microwave oven)
- Challenges - lot of students like to stay close to the university so finding an accommodation near the university is extremely competitive.
My accommodation was 10 min walk away from the university called Westland gardens. That's where most of the UMBC indians students stay.

- Maryland state's weather is unpredictable.
University of Maryland, Baltimore County is known for its research in the field of computer science and the admission process is easy. I submitted an online application in computer science and took my English proficiency test and GRE to get admitted to UMBC.

- Factors that influenced me to choose UMBC over all other university were surrounding cities, living cost (which is quite cheaper compared to other cities with such highly ranked university), University campus, facilities provided in campus and to international students, availablity of On Campus jobs. Apart from other aspects, university offers multiple options for a single course, you will have at least 5-6 options for a single course, this gives a freedom to choose and explore multiple pathways.
Dislikes
- Some students may not be fond of UMBC's location in suburban Baltimore, feeling that it lacks the urban vibrancy found in other college towns. UMBC is located in a Baltimore county area, which I feel have few areas that is not as safe for students as it should be.
My experience here was good, I would recommend students to join UMBC for Under Graduation or Graduation.

- UMBC has all the facilities and perks except the location. The costs are comparatively low and curriculum equally good.
It has been a great and smooth experience. Everyone around is helpful. It is just the area that is not too great.

- The MS program in cybersecurity is a dedicated program that is handled by people who have either actually worked or are still working in the field. The professors are interactive and the method for class is very good.
Dislikes
- The campus social scene is quite lacking, hence it is quite difficult for me to make new friends or meet new people, the campus is located in the sub-urban area so there isn't exactly much to do as in terms of night life.
It has only been close to a month since I have been here but up to now I like it a lot, the people and the faculty are really amazing the only drawback is the lack of social events to meet new people. The main contributing factor for me to choose this university is because of the program and the supporting faculty, I really liked the program structure as well as the classes offered.
