Campus Life
- Good infrastructure. Campus spread across the city. Convenient to find transportation. Lots of clubs to participate in, especially for undergraduates. Good libraries & research facilities. Good indoor sports.
Accommodation

- Course structure was made with respect to the modern standards of learning. I studied quite advanced modules and at the same time the coursework/projects which are given are quite productive and helps in holistic learning.
- Accommodation: - University of Surrey has one of the best accommodations in the UK. Finding a student accommodation in UK which is affordable and near to your University is quite tough but UOS has accommodation spreader throughout the city of Guildford which was a highlight for me.
- UOS conduct events like Careers Fair, Freshers Fair which help us to widen our network which is again a plus with respect to our career opportunities.
Dislikes
- Some of the faculty don’t tend to interact much with the students and at the same point teaching standards of them are not at par.
- Since the course was just of 1 year, it seemed like we are in a constant rush which can put a toll on one’s mental health.
Campus Life
- Campus life is very extravagant and exciting. The university has its own student union who organises various events and at the same time the university has its own club within the university premises. It has a sports park as well for those who are interested in sports.
Accommodation
- I paid £662 a month (which included everything) for an en-suite accommodation. Prices may vary now.

Campus Life
- There is a startup club, which is the best. There is one campus but hostels/accommodations are at various locations. They have Christmas festivals, tech events, marquees, etc. Sports event happen but since it is very distant from the university, I hardly join.
- Library block is a very high-rise building with full 24/7 automation with desktop printers, etc. Very silent place to stay.
Accommodation
- I used university-provided accommodation. It was affordable and as said, you can pay quarterly and also defer payment if any personal financial issue arises. Uni is cooperative. I directly booked on the uni website. Monthly rent is around 30K.
- I recommend staying in stag hill court where most Asian students stay. They are very cooperative and supportive. It is good to study together and have fun also. Facebook groups are available. You can meet students.

- Multi Cultural with people from all around the globe.
- Connectivity via public transportation to the college/university.
- Right in the heart of Washington DC, nation's capital.
Dislikes
- Right in the heart of Washington DC, nation's capital.
- Less connected to major IT companies as more focused on Federal.
- Campus length is restricted due to the fact that it's in DC.
Campus Life
- I think two campuses were there; one is at Foggy Bottom (our campus) and the other is at Mount Vernon.
- General libraries and those specific to school libraries are also there. Sports and Medical services are also good.
- Many events take place like Halloween, etc. and more can be done by joining any clubs.
- There are not many sports, as there are no open grounds in our campus. Cultural and Student Organizations are very good.
Accommodation
- Whatsapp groups of our college helped me find my accommodation. Apartment with all facilities and rent is $600 per person
- Leasing challenges were very painful, as we have to commit and also pay a large amount upfront.
- Stay with friends and you can switch even after the classes begin if you find some good friends.
- 10-15 mins taking a metro. Some stay close to campus and some of them in my area.

- Lack of other options. This University was my safety option, and I did not get into the other Universities I wanted to opt for. But the reason why I decided to opt for this University is because at the end of the day, unlike India, the University tag matters very little in the United States and what matters is how skilled you are at what you do. And in that aspect, I think this University provides and equips you with the right knowledge and resources to get skilled in the field of Data Science just like any other University would.
- I like the location where the University is situated. It feels very safe, but quite expensive if you're living next to the campus. There are many resources to leverage for career development and extensive help and support is provided in the same. Most faculties are extremely adept at the subjects they teach but you need to do your research before registering for classes. I found the entire course as comprehensive as possible when it comes to data science which is an extremely broad field.
Dislikes
- Few courses in the initial semesters assume no background knowledge in any mathematical or statistical concepts. This forces the instructor to start from complete basics. This could feel like a waste of time for students who possess the required background. People from different fields possessing no coding or mathematical knowledge are permitted into the course which seemed a little strange. This is the reason why most professors are forced to start from scratch.
- The Data Science department career coaches and mentors are NOT catered towards careers in data science. They provide very generic mentorship which people can still benefit from initially but after a point you do need someone who can provide you with specialized aid.
Campus Life
Good.
Accommodation
No on campus residency is given. Have to find your own apartments. Areas beside the University are very expensive unless you share with a lot of other people.

- Scholarship, Location, Course structure, Research opportunities.
- I genuinely appreciate my university for a multitude of reasons. Firstly, the extensive research opportunities available here are exceptional, allowing me to engage in cutting-edge projects and contribute to the advancement of knowledge. The well-structured course curriculum ensures a comprehensive and enriching educational experience.
- Its prime location provides me with a perfect blend of urban convenience and natural beauty, making campus life truly enjoyable. The university goes the extra mile in catering to students' diverse needs, offering an array of dining options that cater to every palate. Moreover, the prospect of securing up to a 50% scholarship in the School of Engineering and Applied Science is a testament to the institution's commitment to promoting academic excellence and easing the financial burden for deserving students. All these factors make me proud to call my university my academic home.
Dislikes
- Firstly, the teaching quality can vary among professors, and some may not deliver the material as effectively as others, which can make the learning experience less consistent. Additionally, as a private university, the tuition fees can be on the higher side, which could be a significant financial burden for students who do not receive scholarships. These are areas where I believe there's potential for the university to enhance the overall educational experience and alleviate financial stress for its students.
Campus Life
There are many clubs and the campus life is great. Extra curricular, sports, celebration of festivals are all up to the mark.
Accommodation
Many options. Metro connectivity is great so you can find cheaper options if you are wiling to commute. I live near the campus in Columbia Plaza Apartments. I live in a 2 bed 2 bath (Huge rooms, huge living area, walk-in closets, modular kitchen). The rent is 3250 and we are 6 people in total.
Accommodation
We have residence halls for freshmen as well as upperclassmen. We have 2 campuses and 2 sports centers. Moreover, we have different buildings for classrooms and a large number of restaurants on campus as well. As it is an open campus, it does not look a lot like a university.
George Washington University is one of the top universities for my major- International Affairs. It is ranked 7th in the US for the same. The prime location of the university in Washington DC also offers an array of advantages. The university offers a top-notch faculty with influential speaker sessions and fun and exciting activities.
Accommodation
Accommodation is very easily available around the university as Master students are not allowed to take accommodation on campus in hostels and dorms because the dorms and hostels are allowed only for Undergraduate students. The accommodation is slightly expensive because the cost of living in the area is slightly high as it is located in the central part of the city.
It is one of the finest institutes for my major, with an amazing academic curriculum and highly knowledgeable faculty. The facilities available are equally amazing and state-of-the-art. Also, the location and the region are one of the best in the US and ideal for any new coming student.
