What Students Say?

- Lack of other options. This University was my safety option, and I did not get into the other Universities I wanted to opt for. But the reason why I decided to opt for this University is because at the end of the day, unlike India, the University tag matters very little in the United States and what matters is how skilled you are at what you do. And in that aspect, I think this University provides and equips you with the right knowledge and resources to get skilled in the field of Data Science just like any other University would.
- I like the location where the University is situated. It feels very safe, but quite expensive if you're living next to the campus. There are many resources to leverage for career development and extensive help and support is provided in the same. Most faculties are extremely adept at the subjects they teach but you need to do your research before registering for classes. I found the entire course as comprehensive as possible when it comes to data science which is an extremely broad field.
Dislikes
- Few courses in the initial semesters assume no background knowledge in any mathematical or statistical concepts. This forces the instructor to start from complete basics. This could feel like a waste of time for students who possess the required background. People from different fields possessing no coding or mathematical knowledge are permitted into the course which seemed a little strange. This is the reason why most professors are forced to start from scratch.
- The Data Science department career coaches and mentors are NOT catered towards careers in data science. They provide very generic mentorship which people can still benefit from initially but after a point you do need someone who can provide you with specialized aid.
Good experience.
Course Curriculum
Very updated and good Curriculum.
Exams
I believe standardized tests are optional or not accepted here as I had not written GRE myself. My TOEFL score was 115/120. However, anything above 90 works or the exact requirements can be found easily on the university website. My SOP was not the best or the most curated for this University and I was still admitted. LOR and CV are required just like any other University.
Placement
Good.
Fees
56,000$/Year excluding scholarship.
Scholarship
I got the Global Leaders Fellowship Award for 16,000$. You are automatically considered for this award and there are no special requirements.
Faculty
Good Faculty, just need to choose the right one.
Campus Life
Good.
Hostel
No on campus residency is given. Have to find your own apartments. Areas beside the University are very expensive unless you share with a lot of other people.
