- Teaching
- Assignments that are thoughtfully designed to gauge the students
- Preparing for uk workforce through campus drives and cv workshops
Dislikes
- Small campus unlike its counterparts, the area of campus is small unlike other universities which spewed over vast acres of land with its own ecosystem, due its location, it is situated in city centre
Campus Life
- Main building where classes and the administration department lie.
- Business campus where only MBA classes take place and teaching faculty rooms are in that building.
- Library building in 4 stories with a learning development team included in the building.
- Multi-faith center, and also it houses psychologists; students can use their services free of cost for therapy.
- Sports building with all amenities like a pool, gym, cricket ground, and basketball ground on campus.
- Student union building with a restaurant inside, a gathering place for all students.
- The Cadbury building, where the university holds its meetings, also houses the alumni wing and most of the space was rented out for corporate meetings. medical school building.
- We have astonbury festival every summer, organized by the student union. it is like a youth festival with music, food, and fun activities around the campus.
Fees
- The total fees are around 22,000 pounds; automatically there are 2,000 pounds off for international students, and we were given a chance at an extra 5,000 pounds scholarship by submitting an essay. In total, I got 7000 pounds off. finally I have to pay 15,000 pounds
- I got private accommodation for 320 pounds per month, including bills, fees can be paid yearly or semester-wise.
- Rent: 320£, transport: 42 £, groceries: 50£ (I cook myself; no eating out), personal expense like going out and movies: 30£
- Totally, on average, I spend £450 per month
Likes
- The beautiful campus especially the library and the mission gardens. The mission gardens was a relaxing place.
- Proximity to big tech companies especially the company where I was interning.
- The location - San Francisco Bay Area, which has a pleasant weather throughout the year, cool breeze and top notch AQI compared to all Indian metro cities.
Dislikes
- Curriculum - Everyone had to take some core courses despite what their background was. For people who had already studied those, there was some repetition and unnecessary expenditure.
- Large intakes - The university had a huge intake for Computer Science and related branches which made most lectures Indian heavy in terms of student composition. So, the opportunity to interact with students of other backgrounds reduced.
- High expenditure - Being in the Bay Area, the university tuition fees and even the housing was quite expensive compared to other universities like Indiana University Bloomington, SUNY Buffalo and University of Florida.
Campus Life
- The university has one big campus and small buildings around it. University facilities include a swimming pool, gymnasium, computer labs, a massive and beautiful library, a canteen with dining halls, dormitories, campus health services, a meditation room and lounges.
- I was an active participant in the mindfulness club on campus. Activities include weekly reflections, journaling activities and games.
- There are many clubs on campus that meet regularly and do fun activities—chess club, badminton club, physics club. Students can go to the university gymnasium and play any games that they like.
Fees
- Tuition: 1121$/unit (46 units to be completed for MSCS) Medical insurance fees~$3600/year
- Housing: $1,000/mo per head, including utilities, groceries, electricity and rent.
- Tuition fees increases every year by some percentage (the website has more details)
- Monthly stay: 775$(rent) + 50$(electricity) + 75$(utilities) + 100$(food and groceries)
- The rent depends on what kind of apartment is occupied but other expenses remain more or less the same.

Likes
- This college is located in the Silicon Valley which is the best place to be right now given the current job market. There are a lot of companies, startups which located within a few miles of the college.
- The Bay Area weather , is something that feels just like home.
- Can take pretty much any course without much pre requisites which in contrast to other colleges required me to go through a strict pre req courses list.
Dislikes
- The campus size is not that big as compared to other universities (like UC’s ) in California.
- Limited number of on campus jobs.
- No financial support for international students since this is a private university.
Campus Life
- The college has only one campus, the main one in Santa Clara. There is a really big gym with a basketball court, table tennis, badminton courts, a big library, and multiple cafes. There are many clubs that one can join; the Greek life is very prominent here; there really aren't any campus festivals as such but each club hosts their own events, which you are welcome to join.
Fees
- Per credit: 1206$; Total fees for 46 credits: 56k$; Accommodation: 15-16k$ total: 80k$ for 2 years.
- Quarter-Based: International students are required to enrol in a minimum of 8 units each quarter—9839 $ per quarter for academics.
- Monthly Expenses(rent + food) = around 1000$ per month for rent as housing is expensive in the bay area and for food if cooking at home can be done with 200-300$ per month

- Private university which means having a good teacher to student ratio
Dislikes
- The tuition can be quite expensive as compared to public universities
- Financial aid isn't usually provided by the department (school of engineering)
- The quarter system leads to having only 11 weeks for a course which can be less
Campus Life
- Only 1 main campus with all the department buildings. There's a huge library which also has a lot of on-campus opportunities
- The gym is good with a swimming pool, 3-4 huge soccer fields, baseball fields, tennis courrts, volleyball courts, basketball stadium, and on-campus health center too
- There's an indian grad organization named 'Swades' and they organize a lot of cultural events
Fees
- Tuition is paid every quarter. right now it's $1240 per credit so depending on the number of units you take in a quarter, the tuition is calculated appropriately.
- There's also a $190 grad engineering fee every quarter and one-time annual insurance fee ($3,700) which means for two years, you have to pay the insurance fee twice.
- Depending on the apartments you stay, the monthly rent can be around $700 with electricity and other things like utilities, food can come up to a maximum of $900-$100

- Its 1250$ per credit and we are supposed to take 46 credits throughout 2 years of masters
- which amounts to 57,000 + we need to have medical insurance, which is 4000$ per year so the total fees including insurance is 65k usd

Overview
I opted this university because of the area it was situated in. Bay area is known for its technology industry so it was easier for me to settle down here. The admission process was purely online. Once you meet the requirements provided by the university which is IELTS and your score in bachelors degree, then you are set to get into the university.
Campus Life
Campus life was full of fun, offering a perfect blend of academic rigor and extracurricular activities. The university gives numerous opportunities for students to engage in various activities, make new friends, and create lasting memories. There were a lot of fests happening here like techno fest and a lot of societies were also formed in order to engage students.

Overall I would say it’s a win win situation as my university is very well recognised here in the Silicon Valley & the alumni’s help a lot! The location is pretty good with almost similar weather conditions as in India, it is a bit exorbitant in terms of location but other than that everything seems to be fine.

Campus has all the necessary amenities & it’s vast, a bit exorbitant but provides all the facilities & is tidy.

- I had personal reasons that made me choose this school, I wanted to stay in Silicon Valley, for a private school, SCU fees is affordable for a foreign student, they had good placement history.
Overview
My overall experience is good so far, there’s a good learning curve- both personally and professionally, when you are in a foreign country with limited resources at your disposal. This makes us creative, hard-working and pro-active. The approach to education in USA is different than what I experienced in India, in the way that it’s more practical, can be tailored to your interest and fun indeed.
Campus Life
Campus infrastructure and extracurricular activities are as good as they can get. We have clubs in each department that cater to the coursework to stay relevant; example Product Club (for those interested in a Product/Project manager career).

- The main factor for me to choose Santa Clara University was the location. Because it is bay area I thought it will help me with the placement and it surely did help a little but did not play a major role as I expected. But the weather conditions in Bay area makes it bearable.
Overview
Overall experience at the university was great. I learned a lot and the faculty and staff was also very helpful. The university has the best infrastructure compare to other universities. There are many clubs and events to support students coming in every quarter.
Campus Life
There are countless number of clubs, events and extra curricular activities to participate. Al though it is up to you how much you want to get involved. The library is huge and it is fun to study there.
