Course Curriculum

8

  • Mine is mostly practical, with almost 99% of courses on hands-on assignments.
  • I don't think so, but the course could have a power bi module, since it is most important for data analytics.
  • I used to have 4 modules per semester, where I had 3 classes on one day and 2 other classes on another day.
  • 90 students split in two batches; around 50 of us were Indian students

Admission Experience

  • I have applied to 6 colleges: Aston University, University of Birmingham, Exeter University, Liverpool university, University of Edinburgh, queen Mary university London.
  • 4 of them accepted me by giving a conditional offer letter.
  • I was rejected by university of Edinburgh. I think the reason I applied pretty much late, merely 3 weeks before the application closed
  • QS rankings and reasonable fees with scholarships: I was given 8 lakhs off as a scholarship; that was one of the decisions. The modules were also the reason I selected the university. I researched online whether these modules help me with the course I selected and whether I will be industry-ready after completing this course.
  • Admission process was smooth, with fewer steps and less complication. IELTS score, bachelor's score.
  • January Intake, no such thing as factors; it was suitable for me to apply for that intake
  • The admission process starts from mid-September to the first week of October.
  • For me it take 3 months because I have waited 1 month extra to show sufficient funds on my account; I received the decision, unconditional offer letter and cass letter faster, by the end of 2 weeks in November

Faculty

10

  • 1 professor to 45 students; all classes were taken in person with weekly quizzes or small assignments. all the faculty members were friendly and open to questions and popping questions in the middle of class to make sure we understood the class and also in class itself we have hands-on experience with code, statistics, and software.
  • I think 90%. yes, they taught us python,. machine learning, advance excel, sql modules and live internships help us to get a peek at real-world business problems
  • Yes, some professors assist students in finding full-time jobs through their circle.
  • My course leader taught us machine learning; today I can confidently say that I can Train ML models.

Campus Life

8

  • Main building where classes and the administration department lie.
  • Business campus where only MBA classes take place and teaching faculty rooms are in that building.
  • Library building in 4 stories with a learning development team included in the building.
  • Multi-faith center, and also it houses psychologists; students can use their services free of cost for therapy.
  • Sports building with all amenities like a pool, gym, cricket ground, and basketball ground on campus.
  • Student union building with a restaurant inside, a gathering place for all students.
  • The Cadbury building, where the university holds its meetings, also houses the alumni wing and most of the space was rented out for corporate meetings. medical school building.
  • We have astonbury festival every summer, organized by the student union. it is like a youth festival with music, food, and fun activities around the campus.

Part Time Jobs

  • Unfortunately, I dont know whether TA, RA, or DA positions existed in my university, because in my cohort no one got such jobs, so I cant specify details regarding the positions
  • we have the opportunity, like students writing to colleagues, something like that. Basically, it is a part-time job assisting members of LDC, to teach students how to write Assignments.
  • 20 hours per week is the maximum allowed hours that were stipulated by the home office.
  • On average, it's £7-8; if it is NI pay, then it will be around £11. in other parts of uk it is easy to get part-time work, but I stayed in Birmingham, where it was difficult to secure part-time work because Birmingham has a huge volume of universities and high competition for part-time jobs. searching for job openings, submitting applications or resumes, and attending interviews—in a traditional way it is, but most of us go through each establishment and personally ask if there are any vacancies.

Placement

6

  • I am a recent graduate; among 90 students, 6 people got placed within 2-3 months of completion of the course, but September intake people got at least 6-7 months to land a job after completion.
  • the average salary for freshers is anywhere between £25,000 and £30,000; for experienced people, it is around £45,000. it is based on domains and industry im talking about data analytics in tech and the finance industry.
  • linkedin, total Jobs for online job portals, internships through university, and career fairs.
  • Goldman Sachs, J.P. Morgan, Amazon...

Accommodation

Off Campus
10

  • I find accommodation through my relatives already living in the UK.
  • My monthly rent was £320 per month, including all the bills like boiler, water, and power.
  • Thankfully I didn't encounter any problems while searching for accommodation, for future students who are on a budget, try to find WhatsApp groups of universities or residents; in that way, we can find accommodation easily and securely.
  • My Accommodation was a 30 min drive by bus to the university. Most of the Indians stay in either student accommodations by the university or private student accommodation, or they stay as PG like me

Exams

  • Ielts
  • Statement of purpose, LOR
  • Yes, it was an recorded video interview in application process
  • How it influenced your admission decision. there were some pre-recorded question like why uk, why Aston University? why a master's? why this particular course? what do you achieve from the course? ' and how do you see yourself in 5 years?' I think they are mostly character analysis questions.

Fees

  • The total fees are around 22,000 pounds; automatically there are 2,000 pounds off for international students, and we were given a chance at an extra 5,000 pounds scholarship by submitting an essay. In total, I got 7000 pounds off. finally I have to pay 15,000 pounds
  • I got private accommodation for 320 pounds per month, including bills, fees can be paid yearly or semester-wise.
  • Rent: 320£, transport: 42 £, groceries: 50£ (I cook myself; no eating out), personal expense like going out and movies: 30£
  • Totally, on average, I spend £450 per month

Scholarship

  • There were lot of scholarships awarded at the university I studied at; for example, the vice chancellor's scholarship for 12,000 pounds
  • £7000, I received a scholarship.
  • Yeah, most of them, but I can't exactly pinpoint the number.
  • On average it is £2000-3000, and I can't roughly say the number of students who have received scholarships.
