• Almost all jobs are via online application and no jobs are via campus, although there was some fair where companies came. One has to apply to many, many companies to secure a job interview. Most interviews are 3-6 rounds long, talking about system design, coding challenges and HR rounds. The interview is quite challenging.
• Most people secure a job in 6 months. Internships are quite available, although the process is quite challenging. Full-time is also the same situation. There are a lot of companies like Amazon, bank of america, Bloomberg, Oracle, Cerner, Siemens, and IBM.

• I used Facebook to find roommates. Most people use Facebook to find houses and Roommates.
• The rent was $1000 per month. The rooms are ok in the Buffalo region. It's an old city and people will have a cultural shock. Candidates who reached early got houses closer. Also, people reach out to seniors to book rooms on their behalf as rooms run out very fast.
• My accommodation was almost 20 minutes away from the bus stop. So it was quite a walk. The bus service is provided by the university from north campus to South campus. During winter the frequency is increased so that people have to wait less during extreme cold.

• Around 70 per cent of the students get jobs within six months of course completion. The average salary is around 70K per year. I would say one should try for amazon biggest recruiter. LinkedIn and indeed are really helpful in finding jobs. The highest is 120K and the lowest is 40K. The key is to apply early, like as soon as the job gets posted, and be in the top 50 applicants.

• A Facebook page is the best way to find accommodation. There is one page called GISA where you will see house postings; usually students take houses near south campus (englewood st, heath st, merimac st) and there is a list of all the house owern number you can message them and ask about their property; you can get a decent house for $450/month.

• I won't recommend anyone coming for masters to USA anymore. People are unemployed for more than a year. International students are underpaid unless you find a job in MAANG.
• The average varies for each program and years of exp an individual has. Its around 60k mostly. It is very hard to find jobs in the USA. There is no placement assistance provided. People apply on LinkedIn and Indeed.

• I found accommodation joining UB Housing group. My rent is $400 per month excluding utilities.

• After completing the MS in Computer Science at UB, most students find full-time opportunities or contracts or W-2s based on individual preference. Students who have good experience get full-time employment within 6 months of graduation, which is the maximum. But the market was pretty bad at the time I got graduated and it took more hard work to get a job and more time as well.
• The average salary range is typically between $85,000 and $120,000 depending on experience, field, role, location and multiple other factors. Students usually go and apply on university handshake portals, linkedin, referrals, and career sites, where I got my job when I applied on a career site.
• Many students get summer internships and make them convert into full-time by performing well. From my batch, students landed roles like Software Engineer, Data Analyst, SDE, and DevOps Engineer. Top hiring companies included Amazon, Microsoft, Meta, PayPal, Bloomberg, M&T Bank, and others too. People prefer start-ups because it's easy to get into for the time being.

• I chose off-campus housing near the North Campus because it's easy to walk to campus; i dont need to simply wait for a bus to come and go to university. I found my apartment through fb gisa group and continued to follow up in whatsapp later . The apartment was about a 10 min bus ride from the campus and a 20 min walk to campus.
• The monthly rent was approximately $700, including utilities and food, depending on person to person. I definitely recommend other students to even prefer housing in north campus by starting a bit early, as it fills so soon. But there are many Indian students who mainly prefer to stay in south campus because they get private rooms for a lesser price, like around 350-400 usd. whereas in north campus the private room is double than in south campus.

• According to the records, 70-80% of them secure jobs within 6 months of graduating.
• Average salary can vary depending on the job roles, companies and experience level, anywhere from $60k-$200k
• Mostly applying via Job Portals, We have a CRC(Career resource Center) on campus that helps us modify resume, help us prep for the Interviews.
• Job Fair's weren't that helpful for Management Students.

• There are pleanty on groups on Facebook, Whatsapp, even ISS(International Student Services) community help in looking for accomadation.
• I was a part of UB Housing group on whatsapp where they posted housing options avaiable, I also had made friends who helped me find if it was legit. I live in a 6 BKH, On the upper unit, we have 4 rooms, I bathroom, 1 kitchen. and on the lower Unit we have 2 rooms, 1 Bathrooma and 1 kitchen. The rent is about $455 per person, and the utilities(gas, electricity,water,wifi) comes upto $100 per person. it can vary based on weather/seasons.
• A lot of houses here have utilities inclusive. And the house options are more on South campus, but classes happen in north, UB has Bus options very frequently travelling accross north and south.

• The Buffalo location has a bit less advantage over others. But still, there are lots of students getting jobs full-time. Market is not that good yet; people are getting above $100k for the full-time roles. Amazon was a mass recruiter in past but now, due to the recession in IT, amazon is not hiring actively from UB.
• I can say average salary is around $100k but I can't share more as I have still another sem to complete.

• Online communities are there on whatsapp and generally students find accommodation from those communities. Either choose subleasing, or you will also find contacts or landlords from those communities.
• There is also one online group, GISA, on facebook where students post rentals or any other household items for sale. Generally, Indian students stay near south campus and will take 20 mins by UB transportation to reach north campus for CS students. Living near north campus is expensive so students prefer south campus.

• Around 10% of student accept offer within 6 months of completing their course.
• The average salary range most students can expect can range from 120-150k yearly. They find jobs on LinkedIn and only portals such as monster and Glassdoor. Previous batchmates got jobs in ibm and apple. And their roles included semiconductor device engineer and cad engineers.
• Major companies that hire graduates for our university include cadence, bogwarner, apple etc.

• I opted for off campus accommodation. Rent was 500$ monthly. Facilities included are the facilities in a normal house. No challenges encountered by finding this accommodation.
• I would recommend to stay on campus in Amherst manor or in off campus houses as the landlords are pretty good as well.
• Accommodation is 15 minutes from north campus and most stay in south. If you are lucky you will get house in north campus and be sure to apply first.

• Employment Rate: most get jobs within 2 years of graduation, the recent market is very bad, so I have no idea of the exact numbers.

• Off-campus
  - Found through the university's group, and contacted agents via seniors.
  - 540$ - including all the utilities and wifi.
• Challenges: To properly verify the condition of the house, most photos are captured in ultrawide, so it creates the illusion of bigger rooms.
• Contact the seniors for help.
• 5 min from south campus. Most of the Indian students stay near the south campus, as it's cheaper.

• 50% get the job after their degree is complete.
• Average salary range it 90k-150k for an graduate student in a good reputed company.
• Mostly through the network an then online application , visiting career fairs, job finding is bit of a tough job in this market
• Placements are not much good as of now because of situation in US.
• Amzaon, Tesla, AMD, Nvidia like companies.

• I had one of friend already studying here.
• I pay around $500 monthly rent.
• I did not face much challenges as i already had some friends here but there are groups on whatsapp and facebook they help a lot in this search.
• My accommodation is 5 minute walk from my campus, and from there i had to catch university shuttle which is free of cost service for students

The university does have on-campus placement and many companies (medium and large MNCs) visited. However, it can attract more and better companies. Most of the batchmates were placed in multiple streams, except 1 or 2.

I chose this university because of following factors: - My preferred course (MS in MIS) was offered here and was a 1-year course instead of 2 years - Fees were more affordable as compared to other universities - This is a public university and the university is reputed. I am proud to be associated with the University at Buffalo, SUNY. This university is an all-rounded package for anybody who wishes to pursue a Master's in the USA. Great course content, good professors, amazing and lively campus, in the heart of Buffalo city. The off-campus housing is decent in Buffalo, and grocery stores and restaurants are close by. This university helped me kickstart my career in the USA.
