What Students Say
Dislikes
- "Not much Scholorships and grants availale for International students Even the available ones are not easy to find and apply."
Required Exams for Admission
Course Curriculum
- Syllabus is absoloutely relevent to the cources we opt for, we have a lot of options to choose from.
- I did not opt for Research, but there are plenty of opportunities available.
- Even to opt classes, we had too many options(in terms of timing, professors, days).
Admission Experience
- Within all the uiversities I applied for, UB had good weightage in terms of academics, extra Curricular activities and living options.
- The more important reason I opted for UB was because it had a Powerlifting club, I'm a professional Powerlifter and I needed a chance to build a nice portfolio using that as well.
- My Scores: GRE: 314/340, IELTS:7.5
Class Schedule
- We could opt as many classes needed in a day according to our schedule, I'd choose Monday & Wednesday or Tuesday & Thursday.
- Classes run through 8 am - 9 pm - with enough breaks in between.
- Average number of students depends on each class. anywhere from 40 - 100.
Faculty
- The Faculty and Stuff are very much qualified, Most Professors hold PHD from top universities, a lot of Professors are from UB itself.
- Dr. Raj Sharman is one of the prof that left an Incredible impact on me. He's the professor I worked under for two semesters. His Research always gets me into thinking how can a person be so passionate about it. He's around 60+ but the enthusiasm he has, the energy he brings, the knowledge he owns has made a huge impact. I will forever be grateful for his guidance, his mentorship and to even just trusting me and giving me a chance to work under him.
Campus Life
- Campus life is amazing, we have three campus - North, South and Downtown.
- I can't even take the number of clubs available, because there are so many, some that I'm not even aware of.
- We've got 4 huge libraries with all the facilities available.(Numerous Book options, Laptop rental programs, Private study rooms, Research facilities, Recording rooms etc).
- One of the Libraries on South Campus has a infrastucture like Hogwarts (Abbott Library)
- UB is known for hosting events, on any random day, there's one or the other event going on.
- UB has amazing facilities for staying fit, UB Recreation centers(Gym), Sports clubs, Yoga classes, Dance classes, Huge Pools, Basket Ball Couts, Badminton Courts, etc)
Part Time Jobs
- Off-Campus jobs are not available for Iternational students. The base salary for any part - time on campus is 15.5$ per hour it can go upto 24 based on roles. To get a part time on campus, we apply via UB Linked, Handshake, or reach out to professors/department directly.
- In my class almost 80% of them had a Part-time, I had two jobs on campus. I was a TA and Social and Community Service Manager for Hispanic Heritage Council, A students has to go beyond their comfort zone and reach out to people, network and ask for opportunities available.
- Almost 20-30% students got GA/TA/RA positions. But there were plenty of other Part time jobs available. For ex: In UB school of mgmt - there are almost 300 students(MIS,MSBA,BA) and every semester 50 students get hired for Project Clinic, which gives opportunity for so many of them each semster.
Placement
- According to the records, 70-80% of them secure jobs within 6 months of graduating.
- Average salary can vary depending on the job roles, companies and experience level, anywhere from $60k-$200k
- Mostly applying via Job Portals, We have a CRC(Career resource Center) on campus that helps us modify resume, help us prep for the Interviews.
- Job Fair's weren't that helpful for Management Students.
Accommodation
- There are pleanty on groups on Facebook, Whatsapp, even ISS(International Student Services) community help in looking for accomadation.
- I was a part of UB Housing group on whatsapp where they posted housing options avaiable, I also had made friends who helped me find if it was legit. I live in a 6 BKH, On the upper unit, we have 4 rooms, I bathroom, 1 kitchen. and on the lower Unit we have 2 rooms, 1 Bathrooma and 1 kitchen. The rent is about $455 per person, and the utilities(gas, electricity, water, wifi) comes upto $100 per person. it can vary based on weather/seasons.
- A lot of houses here have utilities inclusive. And the house options are more on South campus, but classes happen in north, UB has Bus options very frequently travelling accross north and south.

- Exams: IELTS is Mandetory, GRE can be waived.
- Documents: CV, SOP, LOR(3).
