I hope there was a chance to avail scholarship and also provide easy internships
Faculty who had a lot of knowledge and expertise regarding the field and they gave their best in classes and taught very well
The campus was very spacious and clean and the rooms were spacious and clean as well

Dislikes

Some of the staff members in offices or counters were very rude . If asked about any information they would ignore or reply in a very rude manner . That was the worst part.
The paper or tamplet glued on the wall during election times is bad
The process for registration and office purpose for this college is bit poor

Life at G.C College, Silchar

Likes

The lab experience provided by the college was good.
The teachers are very good at what they teach and are very friendly towards the students
From time to time the college/department organises some activity for the students, that can be a fest or some outing.

Dislikes

Their website during admission/exam enrollment crashes a lot.
At times they are not able to manage a large group of students properly especially in the time of submission of some document.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course of Biotechnology (B.Sc) solely prepares you for the lab work and gives you the fundamental knowledge of how a lab works and how to work with microbes. And this course has a wide scope all over the world, for example, biotechnology is one of the course which pharmaceutical companies prefer whole hiring. This course focuses on improving your fundamentals regarding biotechnology which can aid you in your further pursuits.

Our department conducts regular classes.
Our department conducts classes even with a single student inside the class.

Dislikes

Teaching style could be better. It needs improvement.
Other than the DSC classes, other classes are not even conducted properly properly.
Campur requipment is low. Could be better.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Since statistics is a very demanded subject everywhere right now, it made me opt for this course. This course doesnt actually help in getting jobs though. Its very tough to get a job just with this degree. The course could include more of the modern day needs like ai, data science and more. The frequency of exam is 2 in 4 months. Its hard to cover all in 4 months

A brief insight into the college & hostel life of Gurucharan college

Likes

The course is affordable to the middle class people.
The faculties of our department are very friendly and responsive and are highly experienced in their field
The extracurricular activities are also worth it

Dislikes

The infrastructure of the college is quite inferior compared to other government colleges and definitely needs improvement
The exam timings are too frequent and quite unpredictable
The office staff can sometimes be quite rude to the students

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum is very upto date in terms of relevance and comprehensiveness. The faculties often give us some insights into the field of biotechnology through their lectures and also by taking us to the nearby places of practice such as medical colleges and hospitals. Though the course is quite much relevant, the excursions should be quite more frequent as they help the students to grasp the feel of working in the field of biotech. The exams are abit too frequent. Usually the semester should last for about 6 months but our's ends after almost 3 months, this should be fixed.

Great college GC college!

Likes

Teachers of our department are very good. They are so grounded we all love that . They listen all our problems and behave so well with us. Love the botany department teacher.
Learning faculties are awesome. A lot of programs are happening in our college
The teaching method is so good . They have projector and use laptops and 3D which make us understand even better

Dislikes

Infrastructure need to be improved as we lack some lab materials etc
They don't give placements.If possible this opportunities should be included
Crowd are almost high compared to other colleges

Course Curriculum Overview:

I choose the course BSc botany become i love to know more about the uses of plants in different types of diseases etc . This college make me successful in this. The small important should be given towards some lab materials which are not there like algae volvox, polysiphonia

The infrastructure of the college need to be improve.
The campus of college is full of students.
All the facilities are expertise in different portion of subject.

Dislikes

No our college don't provide any placement
Their is no proper sanitation facilities
Their is no proper fan and electricity facilities

Course curriculum are also best from our college there are successive exams to check our performance and find our difficulties, such as internal exam , final exam etc. The frequency of exam is quite good and timings of exam is also good

Believe me everything I say is based on my experience however it may differ to people.

Likes

Regular programmes on many relative events happen which is very good and motivational for the students to encourage in involving and spreading awareness.
Many opportunities come for the college regarding sports and competitive exams and skill learning like computer, bio-informatics or forensics courses.
The chance to meet professors and other great faculties from different departments and areas.

Dislikes

Teachers and non teaching are friendly but when the students are active and interactive otherwise you keep thinking bad of each other otherwise they all are quite good in nature..
The irregularities in the attendance of class and sudden unit tests.
Some people are so biased that everytime when the sports games are organised they try to take over everything that's not good at all.they should think about it.

The domain I have chosen is because I did my best in the last board exams giving me interest and joythat I couldn't choose any other also I had to choose it because my family already had the rest of the branches of science ????. But that's true.

My College Diary

We have a beautiful seminar room, highly educated teachers. They teaches us very well. But regular Occurance of classes is necessary and infrastructure improvements are required..
I am involved in NSS, National Service Scheme. I have done grooming nearby my college campus.
We have total 6 faculties in our department. All of them are expertise in diff expects of the course.

Dislikes

They don't provide placement. After the completion of graduation.
Infrastructure quality is not well. It need to be renewed.
We have many plants, herbs and tress nearby our college campus. . They helps us in medicinal uses. Taught by the faculties.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I am interested in the subject from class 12 . I am interested in biology. As after graduation . I can apply for any laboratories. They do practical classes in laboratories. Improvement is in proper... Smart board, ( projector) , regular occurance of classes. The exam occurs in 2 shifts.... Streams of Science and commerce 1 shift and BBA and arts other shift. The level is medium... which is good for all types of students.

Life of a avg college's avg student

I liked various things some of which are regular festive celebrations like last yr we celebrated a lot festivals in college limited college timings also made it easy for us to study for other competative exams etc
Like I mentioned limited time in college helped a lot to study for any other competative exams .
Friendly teachers made it easy for us to communicate

Dislikes

The campus is not as huge as other famous colleges
No placements and less intership opportunities
For every administrative works you will always have to stand in line for hours

The course I opt is bsc cs so it is not that bad but b tech is better option for internship and placements the course curriculum is basic tbh and doesn't have any beneficiary cources like artificial intelegence

I like the professor and teachers and their teaching skills
Good quality infrastructure well maintained
Beautiful campus and beautiful flowers and garden

Dislikes

Class room is a bit messy and not cleaned properly
Some paint repair is needed for some walls
Some areas have marks and dust not cleaned properly

Gc the best college of silchar

The overall experience of gc college is more better than my expectations..all the teachers are very polite, friendly and helpful.
Although my fellow classmates are also very good in all cases.
The lectures and notes are very well that I don't need any private tuition.

Dislikes

The washrooms are not that much clean to use.
Some of the classrooms have less number of fans which create trouble in summer
Lack o dsm classes and also we didn't get proper notes o dsm subjects

The course curriculum is not bad it is well managed and executed by the authorities also the gaps between the exams and the routine help us to study properly and revise the whole thing in time with proper concentration
