I chose this course because of my interest in psychology. the faculty here was good in the beginning but now it is average. The student-to-faculty ratio is almost 1:20. The faculties here are well-qualified but don't have much experience in teaching. the exams are neither very difficult nor very easy, we have to study everything to score decent marks
I chose BSc in Clinical Psychology because human mind and behavior always facinated me. The faculties at the campus were nice and supportive at times. The number of subjects reduced over the years. The three year course was divided in 6 semesters. There were electives also. Besides Psychology related subjects there was extra credit subjects such as minor tract which had multiple options to choose from such as photography, business management, social work etc. There was also facility of foreign language. There were three different languages out of which one was to be chosen- French, Spanish and German. There was also Communication skills to enhance one's presentation and communication skills in future. There used to be mid terms, assignments and end terms exams in every semester. 35% was passing and there was relative grading system. The mid terms were 15 marks, 15 marks for assignments and 70 marks for end term exams.
I chose this course because I wanted to study clinical psychology specifically through a BSc course. The faculty at Amity University is quite good (at least in the psychology department) Most of the teachers are young and have completed their PhD in psychology. They understand the students well and they are very open minded. There is 2 exams per semester (Mid Sems and End Sems). Other than that, there are also assignments, presentations, vivas, etc. (any two of these per semester) It depends on what the faculty selects.
I chose this course because none of the other colleges in Mumbai provides BSC in clinical psychology (with specialization in bachelor). The curriculum is very detailed and structured well. They also have a program of summer internship after each year which helps you with exposure to the practical field. You get to learn different subjects under psychology every semester. Practicals are included in every semester which consists of a variety of psychological tests. Some teachers have completed their PhD in psychology, some teachers who have completed their masters in psychology teach and do their Ph.D. simultaneously. 6 sems for all three years, every year consisted of 2 sems each. Every semester there would be a midterm exam (15marks for written paper and 15 assignments) and a final end semester exam(70marks, subjective questions).
This was my dream career and I chose this field. The teacher ratio was less compared to the student ratio. The teachers were quite sweet and understanding. This was the only good thing about the college that they had good and understand psychology teachers. Exams were held timely (semesterly) but they were difficult to crack a good score. The teachers discuss the paper after the results are declared.
It is very good. I have got assistance in all the things i needed. So overall it is very satisfying. We have meetings. They are quite open minded and friendly. You can talk to them anytime. They are keen to help you.
Fee structure is pretty feasible, as fees are supposed to be paid semester wise. There are financial waivers available in the form of scholarships, sports quota scholarships and many more options. Fees can be paid online through net banking as well as physically by giving a Demand Draft (DD)in the name of the college.
Actually it's little bit expensive for students who are lower middle class family. But students who are getting scholarships won't be having any problem. But the fees depends upon department. And we AUM is having almost 17 schools/Departments.
The fee structure varies from course to course however, it's not too expensive for a private college. Our course fees is approximately 50,000 per semester which sums up to about 100,000 per year. The hostel fees is 110,000 for AC rooms and 65,000 for non-AC rooms and consists of 2 people in one room and 6 people altogether in a dorm.
