Remarks
Amity is overall good in terms of academics and events they organize. However, as we aren't situated in the city, we spend most of our time and money in travelling out of this place to Mumbai. We also have Wi-Fi and AC issues quite often but they tend to resolve it as soon as possible. There is almost always construction work going on around in Amity and it gets annoying at times. We are also far from any good emergency medical facilities.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course curriculum of B.Sc. Clinical Psychology has been very structured and well organized. Our 3 years course has been divided into 6 semesters. All the 6 semesters we have different subjects and practicals. Our practicals are our main focus which has been taught to us a lot in detail and our core subjects are also well designed. We also have a Minor Track which lets us choose a minor degree that we pursue along with our Major and also a Foreign Language than we get to learn. The exam structure here is 30 marks for your internals, which includes your mid semester exam marks plus the assignments you submit and a 70 marks written paper during your end semester exam, which sums up to a total 100.
Placement Experience
The university does have a placement cell, however they have a lot of rules you need to follow which makes it really difficult to abide by them, hence, I personally never have opted for an Internship through the university's cell and search internships for myself.
College Events
Amity usually comes up with lots of new events as we have a number of departments here. There's Technicia, Animation Day, Aminova, Tarang 2019, Sangathan, Architecture related Events, Mental Health Week, number of department wise Quiz competitions, Bisexuality Day, World Tourism Day, Open Mic Event, Theatre Events, World Photography Day, Trekking Events, World Poetry Day, etc.
Fee Structure And Facilities
The fee structure varies from course to course however, it's not too expensive for a private college. Our course fees is approximately 50,000 per semester which sums up to about 100,000 per year. The hostel fees is 110,000 for AC rooms and 65,000 for non-AC rooms and consists of 2 people in one room and 6 people altogether in a dorm.
Fees and Financial Aid
Students who have scored high marks in their 12th grade gets a scholarship of a certain amount or also may be a full scholarship. I don't have detailed information about this as I haven't availed any scholarship. Also, I haven't heard of any loan facility offered by the college.
Campus Life
There are lots of clubs in Amity for people of various interests like Ami-Cult, Ami-Psych, Ami-Yoga, Ami-Trendz, Ami-Theatre, etc. We have Sangathan for various sports competitions like Football, Handball, Volleyball, Badminton, Basketball, etc. Amity infrastructure is equipped with a well maintained, football, volleyball grounds and also badminton, tennis and basketball courts. Playing sports here is highly encouraged here. There are well equipped computer and science labs here, too.
Hostel Facilities
Yes, I have opted for the hostel and the hostel infrastructure is actually pretty good and organized as compared to other hostels that I've heard of. Each person is provided with a single bed, mattress, cupboard, study table, chair, book-shelf and also pillows and bedsheets. We can choose between AC and Non-AC rooms. One room houses 2 people and one dorm consists of 3 rooms and hence, 6 people altogether live in a dorm. One dorm has one common washroom and bathroom and space for a clothes stand.
Alumni/Alumna
I have no comments about the alumni network as I've never known if there's anything of the same. Our department seniors weren't too helpful but we're trying our best to know our juniors by spending more time with them and helping them out as much as possible.
Faculty
Our faculties have a good experience and most of them are really good at their job. Few of the newly recruited ones are sometimes not that great, but I feel like they need some time to get along with the whole structure, they're sweet nevertheless.
