IIT Palakkad Ph.D: Fees 2025, Course Duration, Dates, Eligibility

IIT Palakkad PhD admission 2024 is open and the application deadline is April 27, 2024. Indian Institute of Technology, Palakkad provides Ph.D. program for which admissions are offered based on the results of GATE/UGC-NET/ CSIR-NET scores or qualifying written tests and personal interviews conducted by the institute itself. The students who have appeared for GATE or any other equivalent nation-level entrance exams are spared from the institution-level written test. IIT Palakkad will conduct the written test and interview between 25th May 2024 and 15th June 2024. However, foreign students can only register for a full-time mode of the course. IIT Palakkad Ph.D Eligibility Criteria

The eligibility criteria are different for varied disciplines of Ph.D. degree courses offered by the Indian Institute of Technology, Palakkad. Mentioned below are the IIT Palakkad eligibility criteria for the PhD program:

• For Ph.D. in Science, Candidates must have a UG as well as a PG degree with a minimum CGPA of 8/10 in M.Sc. or equivalent.
• For Ph.D. in Engineering, holding a UG degree and a PG degree in M.Tech., ME, or any equivalent degree are eligible to apply for the college with at least 8.0 CGPA or above.
• For Ph.D. in Humanities & Social Science and Philosophy, Aspirants seeking admission to the college must hold a Master’s Degree in the relevant course, they will be eligible to apply for any two fields. GATE scores are also required for all the disciplines offered by the institute for the PhD program. 

Selection: Candidates who are eligible should possess the minimum educational qualifications and will be called for an interview for the selection process. Based on the academic record, and the performance of the candidates in the interview and/ or test. the institute will offer admission to the selected candidates.

3. Take the print out of the downloaded form.
4. Fill-up all the required details.
5. Post or directly hand over the form along with fees and other documents to the institute.

• Both X- and XII-mark sheets and passing certificates.

IIT Palakkad PhD Scholarships

IIT Palakkad offers scholarships to its PhD students under the Half-time Teaching/Research Assistantship (HTRA) scheme. Candidates must fulfill the mentioned eligibility criteria to avail of the scholarships:

• Students must work for 8-10 hours every week to earn this scholarship. The work usually consists of assistance in teaching/ research which will be assigned by the institute. 
• Renewal of assistantship will be based on satisfactory progress in the research work and good performance in the preceding semester. 

IIT Palakkad also allows students to avail of scholarships like UGC- JRF, CSIR-JRF, ICMR, ICAR & AICTE, etc. The amount of fellowship will be as per the norms of the funding agency.
