The B.Tech Applicants of ASTU must be a citizen of India and must be a permanent resident of Assam with a valid PRF provided by a competent Authority.

Is there an Age limit for B.Tech admission to ASTU?

The University follows the guidelines of the state examination authority that is Assam CEE and complies with it. These are the requirements:The applicants must not be below 17 years of age as on August 01 of the admission year.The upper age limit of the candidates for B.Tech admission in Assam is 21 years.For SC/ ST categories, the upper age limit is 25 years.B.Sc graduates who wish to pursue B.Tech must note that the upper age limit for them is 22 years.

Is there any way that a candidate can get admission to a B.Tech program without attempting the entrance examination?

Candidates who have more than 85% of marks in Class 12 and hold the first position in the Assam higher secondary examinations are exempted from entrance test. These students are eligible for direct admission in government engineering colleges.

Experience in Girijananda Chowdhury University

Likes

The thing that I like about Girijananda Chowdhury University is that the college provides a medium for students to showcase its talent
The college faculties are always there to help and solve the students doubts
The college mentors are of a great help. They are always there to guide other than academic problems

Dislikes

The thing I disiliked about Girijananda Chowdhury University is that there is no proper parking spot
The college gym is of not that great .It can be developed
The college playing ground is not that great .It can be improved

Placement Experience:

From 8th semester student are eligible for campus placement. There are several companies that visits like sunpharma , sbi etc .The highest package was 7.5 lpa and lowest was 2.5 lpa. Percentage of students getting is around 80 percent.My plans after getting degree is to prepare for government exam

Likes

College campus is good the building were of old style which are kinda cool
Dean is super cool she is very friendly towards students
Placement according to previous records it improving

Dislikes

Only the sports ground need maintenance there is not even a proper ground

Placement Experience:

Placement is good as compare to other private college Average package is 400000 and highest is 1200000. There are many company which has visited our campus like planet shake,mahindra,wipro etc Percentage of students placed is approx 60-70%

Likes

The environment, the faculties, my friends.
Had a great environment in the campus and also some quality interactions with friends and faculties.
The classroom, the labs, the events, the sports

Dislikes

I had faculties in my department but other departments lack in faculties.
No proper maintenance of the college campus.
No elections were held and favouritism is played.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I always had an interest in studying Computer science and engineering so I have decided to study here. It is something which connects me to the real world and I enjoy that. The course includes old methods which requires to be changed and new methods are needed to be implemented. The frequency and timing of exams is quite balanced.

Dedicated, experienced and supportive facility
Equipped with modern facilities to support the academic and extracurricular needs of its students
The college offers a range of undergraduate programs in engineering disciplines.

Dislikes

Hostel facilities are not as expected. Number of seats in hostel are very less
The college is situated far from the town, so there is no proper transportation facilities
Function and extracurricular program are not conducted as compared to other colleges

Dislikes

Lack of Research Opportunities. Our institution lack research facilities as well as equiptments.
Lack of Sports Infrastructure. Our institution lack advance sports facilities.
Our institution don't offer programmes like NCC .

I like the campus and geographical location and infrastructure

Mode of teaching and learning , and faculties are really helpful in all the way
Playground sports activities and my social groups

The timing of the classes because its start from 9am till 5pm
Considering everything i just have suggestions please provide good food in canteen
Everything is fine nothing is there to dislike

I love computer , so I choose this field. My curriculum prepare me very well but i still suggest them to get on practicals rather than only the theory part.. the exam timing and frequency is good but it should be more practical.

My experience of college life

Likes

Faculty is too good they are so kind they help you whenever u need them
Seniors are also good they are so friendly
Sports week we get explore ourselves and be free to play

Dislikes

No proper field for playing cricket or football

Placement Experience:

From the 7th semester, students are eligible for campus placements. The companies visited are Bosch, Sbi, Hdfc, Dalmia etc about 100 offers were made the highest 12lpa and the average is 6.5 lpa 70 75% of students got placed after getting the degree I will try to settle down

Rahul Roy's Review On Assam Engineering College - [AEC], Guwahati

Remarks:

AEC is the first engineering of Assam, and of the most reputable one. Tuition fees is very affordable, especially compared all the other engineering colleges of these days, and the placement scenario is pretty good as well.
