"Assam Engineering College" where dream takes shapes

Likes

The college conduct colleges weeks every year the sports like football volley ball etc the college also conduct various seminars function which provide knowledge to the students to keeps the students brain active involve the college conduct activity.
Secondly i liked about the college is the college fest name pyrokenesis thats held in every month of february. The fest held for 4 days which is the most beautiful day for the AECians that they all the teachers and the students enjoy in then function

Dislikes

I first one is the infrastructure as the college don't have boundary and there is shortage of benches and desk and they also have limited resources like computer and smart blackboard which create problems to the student and there is only 2 fans in it
The second one is the shortage of teacher in particular branch like CSE there is only 3 parmanent teachers in the CSE branch and others are the contractual so teachers become absent mansy time so student face problem in understanding topics.

Placement Experience:

From 7 semester the students are eligible for campus placement but in offcampus the student can apply for the interview from 5th sem onwards. The companies visites like tata, oild india, vedantu etc many big big companies visits the college every year in search of students in the college. The highest package taken this time is about 21 lpa from the oil comapang which is from the mechanical and the average is 10 lpa in CSE the highest package is 12 lpa this year from the it sector and the average is 6 lpa and the chemical got highest package of 15 lpa from the ongc wtih average of 7 lpa. Every year more then 75% student get placed in the various companies. After getting the degree i will do job on an private companies thats probably the it sector companies and after that i will start an startup bussiness for side bussiness

The campus is very beautiful located near the dipor beel lake.

Placement Experience:

For Placement Students become eligible from the 7th semester.Companies like OIL, NRL, BALCO, TVS, ASHOK LEYLAND, VEDANTA, ADANI, DALMIA, and many more visit every year. The highest package is 24LPA and the lowest is 4.5-5LPA.

The good thing is that since Assam Engineering College is a government institute, we have an affordable fees structure and benefits for EWS reservations in comparison with the private institutes in guwahati.
We have an excellent campus life with all the require amenities at our door step.

Dislikes

Old infrastructure and outdated lab equipments

Placement Experience:

From 7th semester onwards we can apply for campus placements and over 50+ companies visit for campus reqruitment. The highest package about 18 LPA - 20 LPA and an average package of 7 LPA and more than 50% of students get placements

Likes

The college offers almost all the necessary facilities for a very low fees.
Being the oldest engineering college of north-east India it offers a huge alumni network

Dislikes

The college has an open campus which means the locals and the students don't have a proper segregartion
The college being old, some infrastructures are in a bad condition

Placement Experience:

The placement is good enough. Although less than NITs or IITs, if someone tries hard, they can even get into some of the PSUs which recruit directly from the college. The placements in the core branches are quite good. There is a placement cell in the college which handles your internships and placements. Although the scenario varies branchwise and yearwise, about 60-70 percent students are placed every year.

I like the friendly behaviour of our faculty ,the environment in the college as it is located in the mountain of Jhalukbari and as Assam engineering college is one of the oldest government college of NorthEast India
Greenery scenery makes the college more beautiful

Dislikes

Our college campus needs a proper boundary
Roads should be made better as there are plot holes in it

Placement Experience:

Placements are preety impressive in our campus. Students get to set in placements from 7th semester. The companies that visit in our college are some of them are Tech Mahindra,Tata ,IOCL they recruit 10-15 students every year from each dept from which they want they offer 7-15 lpa. Highest package is 22-25 lpa every year and avg is 4-5 lpa Im preparing for competative exams after degree

Assam Engineering College - The pride of Assam

Likes

Well experienced faculty members with working experience in technical field
Very economical and budget friendly and has a very well established alumni network across India as well as abroad

Dislikes

Administration could have been better. Equipments provided in labs should have better calibration and should be upgraded
Roads in the college should be well constructed and the campus area should be properly mapped out.

Placement Experience:

Various companies and PSUs offer placements to the students of AEC. Notable companies include- Numaligarh Refinery Limited (NRL), Oil India, ONGC, Tata Chemicals, Vedanta, Ashok Leyland, L&T, etc. The highest package offered till now is 14LPA by Assam Petrochemical Limited and NRL. Median packages are in the range of 5-6 LPA. I myself being a civil engineering student plan to focus more in competitive exams like GATE, CAT, MAT etc.

Faculty members are the best part of the college.

Dislikes

Everything is available including wifi, labs, classrooms and libraries.
Washrooms are very clean, hygienic and well maintained.

Placement Experience:

Almost 60% of students got placed in our course. The highest was 7 LPA, the lowest was 3.5 LPA and the average is around 5 LPA. Top recruiting companies are Vodafone, Jio etc. Our college provides better placements compared to other private colleges.
