Course Curriculum Overview

I love studying about mechanics and machine processes that the reason I choose this branch. There are lab classes in every semester preparing you for real life experiences and also they have tech events which helps every branch to showcase there talents.

Class Size: 100Course Fees: INR 40000 per year

Internships Opportunities

internships have started from this year as it was not there when we did it. Projects are resume worthy. Stipends are around 10000-15000 pet month. Companies are not fixed. You can also consider doing internship on your own

Placement Experience

You will get a campus placement in the uth semester and you have social, academic and industrial internships from college. The companies that visit are mentioned in the college website as it changes every year. Highest package is 8lpa that was provided in the year 2021. This year the highest package is 5lpa

Fees and Financial Aid

per year 80000 tuition fees, 5000 Security fees, 1000 caution fees, 10000 admission fees and on scholarship you can get upto 10000 discount considering your CEE rank and caste(I had scholarship from CEE ranking). With no scholarship the fees is 90000 each year

Campus Life

Overall experience is very good as the campus is situated away from the city life it gives you the serene touch of the nature. There are many clubs in the college 2 clubs in which I am involved are Innovation cell and women empowerment club. The infrastructure have 3 building G+4 including hostel.

Hostel Facilities

You will have 24/7 availability of water and electricity except for power cutoffs as it takes abit time to on the generator. meal in hostel is average same as other hostels. Hostel fees 8000 Security fees 5000 locality is safe, peoples are friendly in and around the campus, there are stalls for daily amenities.

Admission

My CEE ranks was not qualified for other colleges and couldn't get scholarships but got in this college so I chose this college. Other colleges that I applied to had very high semester fees and the overall fees concluded to around 1.5 lakh per year. Eligibility 12th pass with 60% and above marks.

Faculty

Faculty members in the college are very cooperative and interactive. Course structure is there are 3 courses B.Tech., BCA, BBA. Under B.Tech. there is 4 branches Mechanical, Civil, Computer Science and Electronics.

Night Life

There are gyms cafeteria indoor games room badminton court basketball court and a huge field in the heart of the campus. The timings of college gate is morning 6 to evening 7pm and the hostel.gate classes at 10pm after dinner.

Course Curriculum Overview:

NIT Silchar Review: Campus, Career and Career Prospects

Placement Experience:

NIT Silchar has decent placement stat. Approx 75 percent student got placement from campus and they got decent package. In NIT Silchar from 7th semester students are eligible for placement and company comes whole year for recruiting. Approx 100 company visit the college throughout the year. In tech Google, Microsoft, Amazon, Walmart and more companies come. For core L&T, Adani, Tata Steel and more companies come. For service base Infosys, TCS, Wipro will come and give good offer. Highest package will come from tech company and that is 52lpa and average from all companies will lie from 10 to 12 lpa . My plans is that in my 4th year atleast I will get one job. If I don't get job then I will try from off campus or giving paper for government job

Students normally appear for placements in fourth year with two placement seasons namely from december to january and february to march. Companies include quant companies and tech giants like JPMC, Reliance Industries, WellsFargo,Piramal, Standard Chartered,Texas Instrumentation, walmart, Microsoft, Amazon, Deloitte,Oracle, HCL, Barclays, Tata steel, uber, legato, Mastercard, Nutanix, BPCL, BEL,PWC, Socgen, etc. Almost 80% students get placed every year with the average package ?1,60,000. The highest package was 1.68 crore per annum from the branch of Computer Science.

only fourth year students are eligible for campus placements . the detalis of the visiting compaies are not thte sure but at least 10 stuents are placed each year from every single batch. the higest so far was 20 lpa and it was in amazon , the student who cracked that placement applied it off campus . on campus placement was not more than 10 lpa so far . the percentage of students getting placemnets are less than 50% not because of quality of placement but majority stuents opt for higher studies or goverment jobs rather than direct placement . my paln is to also pursue higher education

I got seat in DU but in fields like Bsc in Chem, Phy. Also got seat for BCA in Cotton college (assam). With 94% in JEE mains was able to get quite good NITs but opted here in SITM due to one single reason,"GEEKS OF GURUKUL" -- a teams of TOP IITIANS not teaching you college courses but sidewise Teaching and Training for INDUSTRY. That drived me here. And I'm happy to state my decision went quite in the right direction currently learning PYTHON and as the faculties are already present to bring companies so it was enough for me to get here and not to ponder any other place as we all know nowadays we have a little value left in degrees and lot more in skills, experience and projects and GEEKS OF GURUKUL is there right for building skills, exp, projects. Currently till 2024 We didn't had any criteria like you can get admission right after passing 12th but the new team of IITIANS once told they're gonna put a test like entrance from the college itself in order to get admission so for 2025 I can't say the admission procedure but till 2024 one can directly get admitted after 12th....Read More
