Course Curriculum Overview

4

The main thing that aspired me to choose this this course of BCA is due to the unemployment ratios of btech graduates. So thought to persue BCA. I'd give it 7/10. It does contribute a bit for the real world but the main thing which is preparing me for the industry is the team of iitians teaching us. So id give it a solid 9/10. As we have test on regular basis, assignment on Monday, Wednesday and Friday and projects with weekly marathon on saturday, and test on sunday. Improvement could be done in the college courses as of now hardly the industry sees someone with c programming which has been taught to us in our first SEM. But hopefully we have Geeks of Gurukul. The timing for exam is quite good. 8/10. As we have proper spacing between exams so it's relevant for us to properly study and attend the exam. We either have our exam in the morning hours or in the afternoon shift.

Internships Opportunities

4

We have came across companies like volvo, mahindra, CFE india, JCB, cognizant, TCS, Jindal steel etc, With paid interns provided to around 5-10k. And being a first sem student i dont have much info on that but the IITians are continuously giving projects after projects to set it out the right experience to increase the median package of 2-4LPA to even higher. I'd give a 2star if it was about college interns but giving it a 4star because of the team iitians who're even providing interns to 1st year students who have skills!!

Placement Experience

3

Talking about placements then before it was found to have an avenger package of 4LPA. But currently after getting tied with Geeks of Gurukul, by the end of 2nd year (ie 4th semester) you're eligible and trained by all ways to go for internship provided by GEEKS of GURUKUL. if you have the skills you can even apply in your 1st sem as they provide link of free vacancies to every semester. The companies include many but as far I remember, there's VOLVO, Jindal Steel, Mahindra, JCB, Cognizant, TCS, CFE india. Currently percentages are less as of now before we didn't had GEEKS OF GURUKUL (ie team of iitians teaching preparing us) but from now onwards the things will be changed and it's just the beginning.

Fees and Financial Aid

Year wise fee is 47000. Admissions fee is 12000(one time), 5000 security money(refundable after end year). Registration fee 2000 (one time) Same fee for all. Scholarship available for btech students only. For btech courses fee is 100000/year.

Campus Life

4

We have tech fest once a year, and minor programs like teachers day etc. by the end of every year we are post likely to have the tech fest. And farewell. Pretty happy to state that one of the best part is the library; well managed and organised with all the course books and other journals etc In terms of size the library occupies an entire floor of the building and is pretty huge. We have cricket matches, football, kabaddi, volleyball courts etc, apart from this we have music room in terms of extracurricular things with many of the musical instruments including bass guitar, electric guitar, Acoustic guitar, Tabla, shaker, mic, drumset, flute, bass flute, equiliser etc We also have GYM in our campus right next to the civil department. Since I'm in 1st sem currently I've not have accessed such thoughts with the seniors so cant comment on it.

Admission

I got seat in DU but in fields like Bsc in Chem, Phy. Also got seat for BCA in Cotton college (assam). With 94% in JEE mains was able to get quite good NITs but opted here in SITM due to one single reason,"GEEKS OF GURUKUL" -- a teams of TOP IITIANS not teaching you college courses but sidewise Teaching and Training for INDUSTRY. That drived me here. And I'm happy to state my decision went quite in the right direction currently learning PYTHON and as the faculties are already present to bring companies so it was enough for me to get here and not to ponder any other place as we all know nowadays we have a little value left in degrees and lot more in skills, experience and projects and GEEKS OF GURUKUL is there right for building skills, exp, projects. Currently till 2024 We didn't had any criteria like you can get admission right after passing 12th but the new team of IITIANS once told they're gonna put a test like entrance from the college itself in order to get admission so for 2025 I can't say the admission procedure but till 2024 one can directly get admitted after 12th.

Faculty

4

There's so many faculties here! As teacher training sessions go side by side so overall there are many teachers staying over this place and institute. Talking about faculties we have two different types on it. The first one is college faculties and the second one is GEEKS OF GURUKUL faculties. The college faculties have teachers who're good but not best at their work. But they're hardworking and quite experienced. And in my liked faculties I'll name, Ma'am Mampi Devi and Sir Mayur Saikia. As they keep on conducting interesting programs like competitions and presentations etc. Meanwhile in GEEKS of GURUKUL all the faculties are TOP IITIANS who have signed up with the college with only one aim that is to train us for placement programs and provide us internships. We have Ifrah Sir & Ankit Sir from IIT KHARAGPUR and Shreyansh Sir from IIT GUWAHATI. They first engaged us in APTITUDE, few weeks before the aptitude training was over. Now we've been taught Coding languages like Python and SQL, after its done by the end of 2nd year we'll have paid interns for building experiences. Recently got vacancies provided by the IITIANS but due to lack of skills being a 1st sem student I wasn't able to clear one. But soon will crack one. We have two exams, mid sem exam (the one held before the end sem exam) and final exam (ie the end sem exam) The question paper is mid. And easy for the one who study on daily basis. The students who don't study have backs ultimately as the exam is held strictly thus cheating is not possible. The college curriculum is good for knowledge purpose but if its about industry purpose then Geeks of Gurukul have the most relavent content.

Night Life

5

The best place for me to hangout is the main ground full of well maintained grasses laying their after dinner watching the night sky full of stars. Usually i hang out in the cafeterias during the time of evening snacks, and after an hour hitting the gym. We have hostels inside the campus and the in timing is 7:30PM. Its safe to roam anytime at night but it's unsafe to roam outside the campus after 10PM as the college is at the very edge of city along muntain valleys so wild theres a fear of wild animal attacks. The best place to hangout outside the college campus is the waterfall nearby which is just back of the college campus. With a walking distance of 5min we can get there, a perfect place to relaxe and chill out!

Placement Experience:

For campus placement the students should be in final semester or should be graduated.. Automobile companies visit for the placement and it is limited. The package they offer is like 5-6 LPA . 5% of the total students are getting the placements. My plan is to prepare for competitive exams after getting the degree .

Course Curriculum Overview:

I choose this course because I wanted to learn coding and pursue my dream as a web development. Our department prepare us well for real-world applications by making us doing project and assignments that are related to real world applications for our further future. We are learning how to do static and dynamic projects. They should change some of their teaching method as for labs (partical) and give more explanation on that as some teachers are not that good in explaining a practical part . Theory exams are easy but practical parts is a little difficult sometimes due to the lack of understanding the subject but some are easy.

I am interested in taking computer Application, the university have also provide with many opportunity to enhance our knowing which also made me to dive deep inside the realm of computer world. The curriculum provided are very helpful for me and i believe I will be able to solve anything in my coming future. The teacher are well educated and friendly we could understand what ever they taught us, they also make us understand what they taught us in any possible way. There is nothing to improve about the faculty but the university can improve the class room by providing new chairs and upgrade a little. The timing for exam and class doesn't effect my routine it is well set according and exam timing different fir each department which is very efficient and not crowded. They provide about two faculty in each exam hall during exam.
