My college

The most important thing in the course curriculum is the practical sessions they have every single machines used in mechanical engineering like lathe machine, UTM machine etc. The course contains every bit of subjects important for mechanical engineering. The practical sessions in the university are very good and helps every student in gaining hands on experience in every machine. The curriculum fully prepared us for everything we need in becoming a mechanical engineer. There is also economics and sociology as subjects which makes us more prepared for real world.

Companies like hcl, wipro, astc provide internships to our college students. The students work there for about a month as a trainee. Stipends are around 10000 to 15000. The internships can also last from 6 months to 12 months regarding the job role.

The training and placement cell of the college is very good. They have brought many multinational companies in the college. And even they help in getting placements to students after graduation. The average package of the placements are 4 to 5lpa. Students are eligible to sit for placement from 6th semester itself. Companies like hcl, wipro, etc have visited and more than 40 students got placed in a year.The highest package till now has been 10lpa. All students must have 70% overall to sit in placement rounds

The fees for bachelor in technology for four years is 5,08,000. Fees for 1st semester is 67000 which includes tuition fees, library and other services fee etc. And for rest semester the fees is 63000. And for lateral students the fees is 3,90,000. The admission fees for new students is 10,000 and registration fees is 2000. Development fees for 4years in total is 40,000. There is also student activity and welfare fund which is 20,000. All category students must pay the same fees. For sports quota and ncc students the scholarship is 50%. And also for students with poor background. The scholarship will be 50% waiver upto 2.5 lakh. Students from Shrimanta Shankar Academy will get a waiver of Rs. 20,000. Students from other states will get a waiver of 20% from tuition fees.

My overall experience has been really good. Every year there is a cultural fest and euphuism in which many national singers and performers come. There are every types of books available in the library regarding every course. They also provide entrance related books. And library and departments are well equipped with computers and wifi. All types of softwares are available in the practical rooms through which anyone can access anytime. There is a huge ground for outdoor activities. And a inddor stadium for games like badminton, table tennis, squash etc. Gymnasium is also available.

I chose this college because of its aicte recognition and it also falls under Assam Science and Technology University. It is the best private college in the state and which gives a degree from government University. In the admission process they select students through class 12 marks and JEE marks.

The faculty to student ratio is 1:10. Faculties are very supportive in career guidance and any doubts regarding classes. They provide one to one career guidance. Teachers of every department are very friendly and well behaved. From mechanical department I liked our hod Devarshi Mallick sir who was very supportive throughout my course and sangita ma'am who helped me the most in getting internships. There is no faculty that I didn't like in particular. There 2 to 3 class tests in every semesters which are not very difficult. And semester exams are easy to medium. The course is very well prepared for us to learn all things about mechanical engineering.

My favourite hangout spot is the indoor stadium. Where all students come to play in the evening, and we chat. There is also a gymnasium nearby where I go sometimes to workout. After gymnasium we go to canteen for a cup of coffee. And the library opens upto 5pm in evening. The hostel and campus in timing is 8:30pm. The college campus is very safe for all students. But the outside areas might be dangerous in nighttime.
