Yes, the internships and placements Birla provide are really good. They give placements in the last semester. So many good companies visit us for eg, ZEE, Kayak News etc and I am planning to do public relations or do my masters in this same college.
MA Students are only eligible for campus placements. BA Students get Internships that prepare them for the professional world. Companies like Inshorts, ETV, Genesis, Zee, Adfactors PR, etc. have come to the university for the placement drive.
Students are eligible from the 5th semester for placements. There are many reputed companies that offer jobs for students. 90% of the students get placements every from each batch. The students who look forward to higher studies for job opportunities don't even have to look for other colleges because our university has a diverse range of courses.
From the 3rd semester, you can select for the placement. BGU is awesome in placement. You should definitely choose BGU. Berger, Amazon, Google also came for the placement. CGPS should be good all semesters then only you will get the best placement.
I'm currently in my 5th semester. The university doesn't provide placement to the undergrads. But for the postgraduates many summer intership and placement opportunities are available. Companies like Deloitte, Axis Bank, SBI, Godrej recruit students for jobs. Atleast 80% of students get placed after their masters.
The faculty-to-student ratio is 30:2. Faculty members are well qualified and have graduated from prestigious national institutions. They are almost all PhD scholars. Internals, mid-semester, and end-of-semester are held in three periods.
All of the exams have a set of standards and are strictly evaluated.
Commerce stream as a whole has always excited me so I took up commerce in my 11th and 12th class. Therefore, the next step for me was to pursue a Bachelor's degree in Commerce and BGU has proven to be the right choice for the same. In BGU, the faculties are very qualified and are quite amiable. Not only do they teach the theoretical aspects but also they make us learn through practical approaches. Even when the pandemic made the teaching-learning difficult, the faculties tried to educate us about the topics by providing us with various case studies. We have got 6 semesters where each semester comprises two Mid-term tests followed by a final exam at the end of the term. Exams can be easy if one focuses and participates well in the class.
I really liked the course curriculum and the subjects I was curious about, furthermore, the college atmosphere and infrastructure pushed me to select this program. The college faculty are among the bests that I like about the college. They are really student friendly and very supportive. The faculty to students ratio is quite high given the fact that the students are very well managed by the faculty academically. In my view the faculty is highly qualified for the program. And the teaching techniques are top notch. The student doubts are very well addressed by the faculty and also they advise the students when necessary. There is also a feedback option given to the students periodically, where students are given the names of teachers and a few rating criteria on the basis of which we could rate the faculty. The exams were not very tough as the concepts and doubts were very well addressed and just by paying proper attention and following instructions one can score very well in the exams.
Being a science student, initially it was bit challenging to change the stream. But with help of good faculties, it was not very difficult to understand the subject.
There are 6 semester exams in total along with 2 internal assessment for each semester along with several worksheets, group discussions, presentations.
As we could only appear 1st-semester offline mode, rest of all semester exams were conducted online via zoom meeting. It was properly conducted with serious invigilation.
Passing an exam depends upon how well are you prepared for the exam.
The placements provided by the college are rather lucrative with packages going as high as 10.2 lakhs. Although B.Com(H) doesn't currently seem to have the provision of campus placements for undergrads the skills and knowledge imparted throughout the course ensure that the student leaves the curriculum fully equipped with industry intelligence and knowledge of the craft. This is why upon receiving my degree I intend to further pursue an MBA in Finance to build up on the knowledge gained through this university's efforts.
