Netaji Subhash Open University (NSOU), founded in 1997, is the state-level open university in Kolkata. It offers distance education programs at undergraduate and postgraduate levels in arts, science, commerce, and various other streams. Currently, the university has over 120 study centres across West Bengal and home to nearly 2.5 lac students.

NSOU Kolkata Courses

The university offers various courses at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels besides various Certificate, Diploma, PG Diploma programs under many specializations. Tabulated below is a program-wise eligibility with fee of the programs:

NSOU Kolkata Admissions

The registration process of Netaji Subhash Open University starts in the month of July every year. The application forms will be available online at the University’s website – www.wbnsou.ac.in . The final selections will be based on the marks obtained in the latest exam attended (depending on the program opted). Read More NSOU Kolkata Admissions

An applicant can only apply to one of the bachelor’s programs.
Pay the fees at any branch of Allahabad Bank using the pre-printed challan collected at the time of online submission.
Application forms photocopies must be signed and stamped by the person attending their Study center.
With the form, all the necessary documents, photographs and copy of challan obtained from the bank must be submitted at the time of admission.
Those who have a BPP or vocational background can directly buy the prospectus of INR 150 from study centers.
An application once submitted along with fees cannot be refunded under any circumstances.
Merit List and other information regarding counseling for admission will be notified by the university on the official website.

Note: Postal applications will not be accepted under any circumstances. One has to visit the center to submit the application.

NSOU Kolkata Facilities

Varied Student Support Services (SSS) are available, having brilliant Network of Study Centres.
The public transport facility is also there and thus the centers are very well connected.
Regular tests and exams are held at the alloted study centers.
The library has a huge collection of books, journals, periodicals, and magazines.
Students Grievance Redressal Cell and Women Harassment Prevention Cell is also there for addressing any complaints.

Ans. Yes, the NSOU has a grievance redressal cell which gives rights to the students to complain regarding any aspect related to his or her learning path including programme quality, learning resources, learner support and guidance, teaching, learning and assessment.

Ques. Does the NSOU have an Internal Quality Assurance Cell?

Ans. Yes, the NSOU has an Internal Quality Assurance Cell, the objective of which is to:

Shoulder the responsibility of generating and promoting awareness for quality assurance in academic and administrative areas and to work out the procedural details.
Ensure total quality management by ushering in innovations leading to achieving excellence and adoption of intervention strategies for monitoring their successful implementation.

Ques. What are the popular courses in the NSOU?

Ans. The popular courses of NSOU are B.A., B.Sc., M.A., B.Lib.I.Sc. and B.Com. The admission to all the courses is given on ‘first come first serve basis’ except B.Spl.Ed. course. The admission to B.Spl.Ed. is given on the basis of an entrance exam conducted by the university.

Ans. The following documents are required at the time of counselling in NSOU:

Proof for Date of Birth,
Cast Certificate (For other than General Category),
PWD Certificate and Identity Card (For PH Candidates) are to be produced at the time of Counselling.

The first thing I like in my college is in environment in our college there is big playground where I can play tennis football where is call and cricket
And also in our college there is very good teachers there they are really experience and they are teaching experience a really good the teachers everything about the course the providers to everything to get a good marks in exam
The campus live in our college is very good interacting with others is very interesting in our college

Dislikes

The things I don't like in my college is that our washroom there is need some improvement like mirror qualities
And also the thing I don't like there is some kind of politics in our college
And I also don't like the parking space there is no parking space for our vehicles

The specific curriculum that influence me to choose this course is to going outside for survey and knowledge about I literature. Just curriculum prepares me in a real world the way the teachers and about literature and history like world war they influence us how to speak communicate with others in this course there is a skill development course that help us in our real life I suggest some improvement in the course they should add some new skills like modern skills The frequency and timing of exam is very bad it is very challenging for crack the exam

In our college there is so many annual functions when there are new student coming in our college when some when the 3rd year students are leaving us . The range and accessibility of books and generals there is so many The facilities and technology is that there is AC in our class and also cctv cameras for safety In our college there is every year there is a sport tournament There is a other sport his volleyball So many students around social group like loving holidays and that really help us in every bad situation that groups

What are students views about their faculties?

The faculty to student ratio he is very good. And the faculty and our student relationship are very good the our principal and our teachers are very helpful in our every problem the help us they are really good as a teacher. And they know how to handle this kind of situations. I like my principal his name is Manik Chaudhary is there any kind person this is this is the reason I like him. The person I don't like in our college his really soon and his name is Madhusudan Dutta In our college in every year our to exam had in this season there is 20% to fail and 80% are clear the exam the course curriculum is really good

Why students choose this college over any other college?

I choose this college because it is near of my home and other college are so far from my home. In my college there is really good teachers other than college. Now college there is so many facilities like you can go anytime but another person you have to go the right time the providers so this are the some reason I choose this one I couldn't you choose the other college because that is so far from my home and I am not able to go on right time so this is your reason I never choose that colleges. The admission process in our college is online you just have to submit your pay slip in your office of our college

In the night we can only go to library and that was the not our favourite hangout place you can go to campus and then we can go to playground College there is no campus facility available The famous hangout places inside his campus playground and outside there is a river that was very good place for Hangout and there is very same because we are staying in a city so there is so many peoples are there who always ready to help us

I have also applied in college like Calcutta university and presidency university of Kolkata but i couldn't study there due to non available seats in open distance learning. The admission process in NSOU is simple you have to score minimum 60 percentage in your 12th exam to enlisted for screening and 100seats were filled up out of those according to merit base. The exams were moderate and easily be cracked for the admission. After selection they call you for the registration and admission fee should also be submitted then.

There is not so many things to mention in this section although i like that they are providing books and other stufs for study.
They have study center in every district colleges.

Dislikes

They are not attentive, should imporve in there education system although its a goverment owned institution but the reputation of this college are really poor.
They gave the option to watch the recorded session and classes but when we are trying to engage its there always error.

Admission:

There were multiple reasons behind choosing this college first of all that they provide courses at the cheapest amount for the working professional and other students for their issues they are unable to pursue their studies at a regular collage so for them its a wonderful opportunity but for them, they need to be attentive because after admission college does not take any kind of responsibility.

i directly applied to this collage and admission on college . never get rejected any other college i never applied on other college . the admission process are very simple if if you have 50% marks on your h.s examthen get the online form fillup submit the form fillup copy on college . then after verification some days later confirmation call and pay the full fees of one year and you got admitted .

For Bachelor Degree Programs (BDP), candidates should have passed 10+2 examination from a recognized board of education.
The minimum required eligibility for B.Lib.I.Sc is the candidates should possess graduate degree with minimum 40% marks

At present, Admissions are open for short-term finance course in online mode. The last date of applying for admission is January 31, 2024. The admission date of other courses are not released yet.
